Trading guilds are, for the most part, limited to people selling anonymously over guild stores. Searching for things in these stores is incredibly limited. Besides that, if you're a slow leveler, there is no way to sell your goods because you're limited to the same 500 people in your trading guild, unless it's rigorously scanned for inactive players.

That levelling issue is very real. As new people enter the game and will be buying / selling earlier tier stuff they will find this harder.

At least the spelling is difficult for you.

..beyond that you could go afk, sitting on a mat for days by placing your character in bazaar mode. (no limit) ...even that is preferable to this mish-mash.[/quote]

NO sry but every game that has this is very lag'y and has even more bots. Im not a giant fan of how they have it now but it is way better then letting people have a stall/store aka mega lag casers.

I was happy with the trade system till it started to hinder rather than help.

I stated earlier I was worried about joining random trade guilds because of the whole black market laundering system the gold farmers got going on. I do not want to add to that getting into the community in any way.

So this limits me to my small little guild with trusted people, I either know irl or have played previous games with. I am sitting on more ore than any of my alts could possibly use. Our guild store is filled with it as well. Not just ore, tons of mats. This makes it easy for us to lvl of course ,but it is turning into the supply and no demand for it in our little community.

I know an AH is not what a lot of people want and for some, braver than I, the guild system is working ok. The main concern I see is the "An AH it ruins the economy" excuse:Alright I will give you that one…

but I think the black market laundering of gold and duped items has already made its way into many of those big legit trading guilds without any the wiser and has already impacted the economy. Those that duped their way to millions to buy top gear and flooded those items and cash into the other trades guilds have already done that for us.

Yes I know they got most of those that were using the exploit but they can't take out the gold and items that already rushed past those flood gates to legit players. Not to mention Now gold sellers and farmers have trade guilds as legit fronts to launder " the gold" so they look like legit players ( not raise those glaring red flags to the devs)….This itself has ruined the economy. They post mats and items in guild trade stores unsuspecting players buy them or sell their own … it is the perfect cover for them. This has ruined the system for me.

I say stick in an AH or something similar …put taxes on it, whatever you need to do to get it done. The whole "it takes away from the personal side of it" excuse ….Really... those 500 person trade guilds are personal? You really know all 500 of those people? Ok maybe I was a bit sarcastic there, but if that is your driving force to not have it, it is not really a good excuse imho.

To back up that statement, I will use Tera as an example. Tera has a bargain option in the ah. You can get in touch with the seller offer a price and they can either accept or decline. How is that personal? One of the guys I play within our little trade guild here is someone I met playing Tera and that is how he got into our little clique. He offered me a lower price I countered... we took it to tells and ended with him in our vent talking price and he just stayed with us in Tera , rift back to wow and now here…. That is personal for ya. He even wrote to many of us when we were over in Afghanistan and could not play.

I see upsides and down sides and IMHO and only my opinion and thoughts on the matter. We tried it this way and to me it sucks and turned it into a mmo Mob laundering service for gold sellers. Let's try something else now.

It isn't preferable because I enjoyed wading thru a sea of players, checking every one to see what they had. It was preferable because my stuff had a wider customer base and would actually sell. As it is I haven't sold a thing in two weeks. Apparently everyone in my guild(s) already has what I have to offer.

I don't particularly care how they do it. (AH, stalls, bazaars, multi-guild listings) at this point anything is preferable to what is currently implemented.

I like the guild auction house but it definitely needs to be tweaked. Not really a big fan of a global AH.

The question is not one of which system is more efficient because a global system is and that is fact. The question is do you want what comes with more efficiency? Efficiency and diversity tend to trade-off in an ecosystem and the real risk is increased instability. I do not see any risk of a system melt down from reducing diversity in this ecosystem which leaves us with ideology which is a platform that can be impossible to dialogue on.

Agree. Can't get much worse than what we have. So anything would likely be an improvement.

AH layout currently in guild is HORRIBLE!
There is a addon to make it more wowish if you want... even the auctioneer version

You could add all the bells and whistles to this horrible interface, but the lack of anything to buy is truly staggering.
