Thanks, everyone, for your input. And... I will pay attention to body language, but in that floating eye it can be a little odd.
Zoom out. You only hurt yourself staying in first person mode. (at least that's what I think you're referencing)

OK, so let's see. I have to play an immersive "single hero saves the world" game in third person to be successful. That's a design failure. I play ES games first person for a reason. If ESO makes it so I can't play in first person I'll end up dropping the subscription and going back to Skyrim.

But for now, I'm patient and will wait to see how things evolve. I'll do the things I can do and come back in two or three levels to things I can't. But ... message to developers/ESO-PR ... if you force a major quest to be solo (Mages Guild, e.g.), label it 8th level, and I get my butt handed to me at 11th, you're telling me you don't want me to play your game. That's ok, but in my opinion it's extraordinarily poor marketing. I understand highly competent players wanting things to be at their level. If you market to that level I hope you can survive on small numbers of players. I don't see why you can't make some content, maybe lots of content, hard enough for those kinds of players to like it and for the rest of us to come along six levels above the alleged level in order to progress. But don't do that to major quest lines.

If someone is having trouble doing a certain quest it's simple just move on and come back at a higher level. I still like a challenge in my MMO's. I've had no real obstacles solo leveling ESO.
Want to become Vampire? 5k @ZiRM in game.

I'm about to guess that the players who were quick to answer how successful they were with the bosses are probably fairly experienced or "naturals". I think it is great that they are given a challenge that delights them. That's what a game should do! Good for them - BAD for the new players!!!!!!
    -
So far, I have been able to kill all of them. Sometimes took a few deaths until I figure out the technique (gah! the repair bills here - what a money sink!) I'm not a beginning noob; but would consider myself as fairly new to the game and a "decent" gamer who is still learning. But all I could think about is "How on earth would a new gamer be able to handle this?" They wouldn't. They will quit the game. I have already lost some friends - some who are good players - who are upset with the many bugs; the high cost of surviving; and the very hard bosses. I know I will definitely not recommend this game to a new gamer.

So either Zenimax accepts that they will have a limited audience or they figure out how to leave the challenge in place for the more expert players and a way for the noobs and less expert players to be able to succeed without diluting the experience. I don't know what the answer is - perhaps the player could choose the level of difficulty and the reward would scale to their choice?

Well said. Extremely well said. Sometimes I think developers forget that most of their audience isn't hyper-committed or, as you say, a natural.

Also, I've seen a number of people say, in essence, that you have to play in third person to see what's going on. For me, that's a complete design failure. I love ES games, and I love them in part because of first person play. If ESO can't make first person workable at the specified level (in other words, if I have to do quests at "level+5" to be successful in first person) I'll eventually quit and go back to Skyrim. For now I'm trying to be patient and only occasionally grousing on the forums.

I play exclusively in first person. That being said, look around. Just because you are in first person you do not have to have situational awareness, in fact you need to pay much more attention to it. If you are playing in first personal mode and not looking around from time to time you are doing it wrong, especially given TESO's horrendous field of view.

ESO IMHO has a nice mix of Solo, Public, and Group Content... saying everything should be groupable, Soloable, or Public is Silly. there are other games for that... and they miss you dearly, I'm sure.
I may or may not be spending too much time with Sheogorath, but I cant help it... He makes the BEST Nachos! >:)

This game is very level dependent, if you go into a dungeon with a group 2 levels below the recommended level youre going to have a really rough time, Its the same for quests.

You, scum, are the kind of person ruining gaming. please leave and go take up... i dont know.. coin collecting or something.

you dont have to be elite or hardcore to figure out a simple problem. casual gamers mentality in general is horrible. does everyone have the attention spam and patients of a 12 year old child on energy drinks and candy? blergh.

No boss has been impossible to beat. Some have been much harder than others, but after a few deaths I figure it out and get through it.

Notice what I said: After a few deaths I figure it out and get through it.

Something Dark Souls, and Dark Souls 2 helped out with.

You'll figure it out, and you'll get through it. OR you can ask in general chat and a LOT of people will help you.

Don't get so upset from dying... it is just a game, and you can learn from the experience here.

Every single "Solo" boss is defeatable if you are within a level range. Many of them can be beaten if you make use of your dodges, and utility abilities even if you are 10 levels below the monster.

Just have to figure it out.

I am really enjoying the challenge level of story quests. Each boss seems to have their own twist which makes me evaluate the best way to take them down using ranged / melee and balancing my use of stamina, magic and potions as a nightblade. This does not need changed. If all else fails you can level up a bit and come back - but I have been doing all story quests (except Doshia - which I had to come back to ) at level indicated for the quest.

Wait... are you serious about the Emeric's dream boss? I just did this quest and the boss was one of the easiest I fought so far... I didn't even drop below 80% health :\
