The original notice for this scheduled maintenance said there would be Patch Notes posted soon. But that part now seems to have been removed? Can you confirm please if there will be notes or not for this maintenance and when'

Original announcement with part now edited out just now:
ESO MAINTENANCE EU & NA MEGASERVER - 4/21/14

ZOS_GinaBruno Administrator, Moderator admin
4:36AM edited 4:36AM in Server Status Staff Post
We will be performing a scheduled maintenance on the European and North American megaservers tomorrow, Monday April 21st.
• The European megaserver will be brought down at 5:00 AM BST / 6:00 AM CEST.
• The North American megaserver will be brought down at 8:00 AM EDT / 1:00 PM BST.
During this maintenance, we will be pushing a new patch that includes a number of updates and fixes, including a fix to the loading screen issue that many of you have come across. We will be posting the full patch notes around 12:00 AM EDT / 5:00 AM BST, and will let you know when each of the megaservers are back online.

    My guess:

They edited it because they posted the wrong time.

When they get the time right, they will edit it back in.

could they have possibly stuffed this maintenance cycle more? Down on Good Friday and now it looks like it will be down Easter Monday. Way to go ZOS!

Both public holidays. Do these people not have a brain cell between them?

err, @Koltiros1005b14a_ESO perhaps you need to educate yourself more about easter public holdays in other parts of the world. Easter Monday, is a public holiday here

    Thunder_Downunder,

Everyone complains about the bugs and problems with the game and how we need fixes and patches. ZOS works through on a weekend (and a holiday for that matter!) in order to get you these fixes and patches and still the people complain. These downtimes are not that long and they're going to happen sooner or later - it's a fact of online gaming. You paid for this game, yes, and you paid for all the things that come with games of the genre. That includes fixes and patches and downtimes.

Go out and have a great breakfast at a nice place. Spend some quality time with friends or family. By the time you get back, the game should be up.

I must disagree. 4-5 each time is not short. I've been playing GW2 which is free to play and it's never had this sort of downtime. Yes, I was playing it since release day also.

My issue is not the maintenance per se, its that the game was released from what it seems about 60% finished, and that I most certainly didn't pay for.

Indeed. ESO downtimes for patches are VERY VERY short. I played WOW for 8 years. Anytime there was a patch, the servers were down for *at least 8 hours*. If it was a major patch (4.1, 5.1, etc), it was often 12 hours. For really major patches (4.0 and 5.0 pre-expansion patches come to mind), it quite often took 16 hours. 4.0 took 24 hours.

I applaud Zenimax for getting all this done and the servers back up in 3-4 hours. That's *insanely* quick.

you don't necessarily need that quest or the subsequent. there's a pole straight west of that solo dungeon in the area. if you mount up and speedride you won't have any trouble to jump across the gap and land on that hill with the skyshard.

I may also mention that those other games with short downtimes had a test server. For some reason or another ($) ESO doesn't have a test server.

that's a good one, i mean do they really don't have a test server? Or a PTR server where players can test the new content ect. I would be shocked if ESO don't has a test/PTR server really. I mean its an MMO, bugfixes need to be tested and especially new content before it can go live.

They have a test server, it's just not (at this point in time) open to the public. If you look in the launcher, there is an option to "show public test environment".

We don't even know when Craglorn is going to be going live. They may yet put it on the PTS before it does go live.

You don't get to tell people what to do and treat them like you know how they plan their schedule.
You're being ridiculous as well, normal people spend quality time with their dear ones first and foremost, not as a backup to not being able to play. When we want to play it's because we have a gap in activities / other important things.
And guess what, as stupid as it may sound to you, when we have this short time to play, we want to play.

And second, last time it took a whole day to patch things up. This is just wrong, out of the 5 times I got time to play this game, 3 times it was maintenance. They need to pick better days and time, they can't eat two days out of a 3-day holiday, it's lack of respect for people's time.

Complaint or not I would love to know down times from time/time.
There was no info on this yesterday and we woke up on our free day off work (the rabbit comes today! Arggggg!) Really happy to play cause of this and we see a maintenance and so eu servers down.

Its not an emergency maintenance cause it would say so after bringing the server down. So at what time will the server be back up?

Only complaint I have is that we don't get enough info as to who or what and defenitly not in time.

And that indeed I feel the same about buying the imperial edition for 100eu + 30 days in advance or we couldn't get our 30 days free so that's 130eu only to be able to play 60% of the time.

that's my complaint, but I also know that Bethesda will make these beginner MMO diseases up to us with some few days free of charge to play.

Its strange that they do this maintenance on a national holliday but they will have a reason for it no doubt :)

If anyone could pls give us an estimated time of the mega server back up, then the most of the customers know when they can go back to their computers and check.

Because I know some of the ppl will be sitting there for 4 hours checking if they can go online cause there is no info on who or what (not me lol, I have a family with 2 young kids and this was my time to play but alas server down)

    Cya all in game somewhere!

And this is why they can't win. Yesterday there were numerous threads saying to take the game down and fix the loading screen problems.

Did they take them down yesterday for that and tomorrow for the regular maintenance? no, they did the sensible thing and combined the much needed fix for the loading screens with the patch and maintenance due tomorrow, and now they get slammed for it.

Problem is we didn't get any info about this, And to the one that's saying Wow 8 hours maintenance and 12 /16 hours bla bla bla.

They began at night in Europe atleast when everyone was sleeping lol

Bethesda is doing a great job! Just aint giving enough info as to who or what is happening etc..

And again I trust them to in due time, give us some kind of refund (free days what ever) to compensate.

Will see, I trust them like I have since the first ESO came out that they will keep our trust.

Logged in 5 times, was able to play 1 hour once. Bad luck, probably but its going right down the pathetic stream quite fast.

And b4 people flame, I played wow since bc, gw2 from launch, rift from head start and aion, so i do have a good understanding of games and patching times.

No. If they picked their times for the minimal impact on customers they would not be getting a hard time. Instead they schedule them for their own reasons. This is what irritates some people.

Their way they have staff working the USA small hours. If they patched in the Euro small hours it would be late night US working. Neither is staff convenient but in the end staff/company convenience is not a factor. The only factor is delivering a good service to customers.

Especially customers who could still say - 'screw this for a game of soldiers' and not sub.
