This thread reminds me of why products have to have warnings that say "Warning: Product will be hot after heating" and "Warning: Hot liquids are hot". You give a brief overview of some features, people complain that it doesn't work EXACTLY like they thought it would. What do you want, a novel written on the back of the box explaining every little detail?

You can do what the ad says you can do. It's not misleading at all. The ad does not say you can craft it on any race. It says you can craft Imperial gear, which the Imperial edition gives you the ability to do, by way of the Imperial race.

Except, it is a little weird that they're advertising a standard feature. I mean, if crafting didn't normally let you craft your own racial style at creation... or something, then saying, "oh, hey, and your imperials can craft their own armor style" would make sense.

But, you can, so why draw attention to, "oh, by the way, your imperials gain the exact same crafting ability as literally every other character." It's weird.

Well, without the Imperial edition, you would not be able to do this without finding the motif. It's a bonus for the Imperial race...

Just being able to BE an Imperial is THE POINT of the Imperial Edition. Don't over-analyze all the other "fluff" information on the box.

It's not called the "Ability to Craft in the Imperial Style" Edition.....

Initially, I looked at it and thought exactly that, but now I'm sitting here going, "why did they single this out as it's own bullet point?"

"Play an Imperial with their own unique racial abilities and crafting style." Okay, makes sense... But, it's like advertising that the Imperials get unique racial abilities, they do, but why draw attention to it this way, when every other race has an equivalent.

Now that I think about it, that might be a bad example, I think I've seen Red Diamond specifically advertised in some of the supplemental material for the Imperial race.

I bought the Imp edition as it appeared to me that was the only way to craft Imp Gear...apparently you can find the Motif in game.
Was anyone else aware of this? I feel slightly cheated of the extra cash.

I knew about the motif books before launch, but that was from watching the video on crafting they put out. I can't remember where they explicitly stated the imperial motif would be available. But I do remember them saying it would be only available in Cyrodill.

I beg your goddamned pardon? That's EXACTLY it, numbnuts. You craft gear in any other style and can then convert it to Imperial style. That sounds almost exactly like what you were promised with the Imperial Edition.

They may sound similar - but it is not the same thing.
They List 6 Separate Features granted with the purchase.
    - ONE of them is the ability to convert items To Imperial.
    - Another is the ability to Craft in the Imperial Style.
    - and Another is the ability to create Imperial characters.

Go click Buy Now and look at the page for yourself if you can't comprehend the difference.

Yet it is only advertised on the Imperial edition, and not on the Standard edition...
How does that fit into the interpretation?

And think a bit about the line:
"Ability to craft Imperial style when crafting gear."

True, it dont state that its only for Imperials... But it still states that I have the abillity to craft Imperial Style armor.

So if I pick an Nord race... I should still have the abillity to craft Imperial Style gear.
If I pick an High elf race, I should still have the abillity to craft Imperial style gear.
    and so on..

Because thats what that specific line is telling me. I have the abillity, if I bought the imperial edition.

    Exactly--
Claiming it requires a Motif - doesn't make Any sense, as it doesn't say The Same Thing on the Standard edition features, and use of the Motif applies to BOTH.

Claiming it requires you be an Imperial to do - doesn't make Any sense, as every race can innately craft their own style, it is not unique to Imperials that they can craft things of their own race.

They list 6 features - each on its own.
They in No Way connect any of them to the other.

    We got... 5 of them.

This way i should agree... Crafting Imperial style was listed as Imperial Edition's feature, separated from "Play as Imperial".
