So I realized I had a weapon damage instead of spell damage glyph on one my of jewellery pieces... duh. Anyways, if people like healing as a magblade (are there any left?) this has been performing well for me.
Basicly heal and put the fear traps down, if you see an opportunity jump someone with the cal proc. I'd say I average 200-500k damage and 400-950k healing per BG, it all depends. Typically 2-8 kills per BG and 1-4 deaths. Wish I could fit RAT for major expedition somewhere, any ideas?

Do you need cloak on both bars? Personally I'd take it off the front bar & replace it with Manifestation of Terror, then put RAT on the back bar. The only problem I'd have then would be that I'd want Concealed Weapon on the back bar as well. How much would it mess you up to have Healthy Offering on your front bar?So I realized I had a weapon damage instead of spell damage glyph on one my of jewellery pieces... duh. I think if you give it a bit of time, having your CC on the front bar would work out better for you — especially since you're using Manifestation of Terror, as that's a more proactive stun rather than an "oh [snip]" stun. I also think you'll find that you won't need to dodge roll as often with all 3 skills (Cloak, RAT, and Concealed) on your back bar. (At least that's been my experience.)Maybe I’ll try healthy offering on my front bar, I’ve never tried it.
I tried switching terror to my front but it didn’t perform as well. Idk, might just be muscle memory. As a healer I think I get targeted more, there’s one dude Bobbyingo who’s good who does a lot of BGs who always goes after healers, whenever I see him I run and sometimes a dodge roll or cloak is all that saves me. Bar swops can get interrupted so I need a quick cloak to survive sometimes.
Really missed my magblade, so I caved and switched cloak to the heal morph. Changed my build to be a bit more tankier without sacrificing the damage I was used to. switched CPs to be more defensive against burst and physical, and suddenly im 1v3ing again.
Fun times again.
Just throwing this out there, in bgs healing ward + rapid + shade has been pretty effective. Downside of course it may not target you. But healing ward has not been a bad option to steath out and recover. I havent played much open world for a while so idk if it works for that.

Yea, I use healing ward quite a bit. It's inconsistent in BGs, what I usually do is healthy offering others and then apply it to myself. Rapid regen is great for solo or dueling, terrible in BGs though.
I'm resigned to using recrappy path again, IDK, I wish I could fit concealed weapon but at least there's a possibility of giving others major expedition.

Yepp I also have done this move, but I really miss cloak. Is there an other suitable replace for the heal morph to continue keeping cloak? Rapid regen is sadly not reliable.

I find it pretty reliable but it would be nice if it was self-cast.
You just have to put in more effort when you use it (get LoS from teammates and enemies lol).

There’s always radiating regen. In a BG you sort of need to stick with your group, it’s half the healing per second but has the advantage of healing team mates.
If you want self sufficient healing in a group setting really it’s stam, MagWarden, magdk or magsorc these days.

I don't think I've ran the other morph of Regeneration since Mutagen.
I also don't think I'd ever choose Dark Cloak.
After all the time using it since the update, Shadowy Disguise doesn't seem as broken on console as some on PC made it out to be.
It's been pretty reliable over the last few days, other than pets and the occasional gap closer spammer that pulls me out (which was intended).

Yea, dark cloak is hot trash. Ever since they buffed onslaught it’s been unusable, the HPS is low and cloak is your only chance of escaping someone using an alt. It works great in duels, but as soon as you’re fighting two people you’ll get overwhelmed.
I’m surprised you haven’t tried radiating regen, that’s sorta the status quo as mag on PC. Every mag will do maybe 200k healing with just radiating. There are also a lot of 1vX S&B mag specs in BGs, but they mostly get wrecked or carried... except the occasional magnecro tank can be okayish.

I think dark cloak is great, run troll king for some extra incoming heals, if you get targeted and troll king procs with sugar skulls you’ve got like 3k health regen, throw out a fear / shade away and you’re good. I haven’t seriously slotted cloak in a long time except to try out some trolly gank builds.

Are you primarily solo? My issue with dark cloak is I mainly do BGs and try to stick with my group. I can’t shade away while supporting and dark cloak isn’t enough defense to relieve pressure, it’s more like flat extra tankiness. I get better results in BGs with shadowy disguise because I can cloak pressure off and stay near my group.

I'm running Slimecraw, Caluurion, and Spinner. I have about a 53% crit rate or so. Is that going to be high enough to reliably proc Caluurion?

That’s how I play, though I haven’t broken 1 million healing on my setup. It’s annoying, I’ll always hit 950k healing in the sweaty games.
I’m also using healthy offering and shadowy disguise so am a little glassy, so my main defense is speed which hurts my max stats. It’s a really fun playstyle though, especially because if someone overextends to try to take you out (which always happens and should against good players if you’re healing) you have the punch to take them down.
I don’t have Kena in the weights I want so am using balorgs too. Wish I had Kena.

The amount of healing output really depends on multiple things; how squishy they are, if they are melee or ranged, if they stay within your healing range, how long matches are dragged out, if there’s another person healing etc.
I’m actually very squishy but speed, movement and heals make up for it. I’ve been thinking about switching to dark cloak too but I’m not sure yet.
Kena is really the highlight of the build , really good set but I’m afraid it’s going to be useless next update.

Yea, I’m exactly the same! I have a lot of stupid deaths because I’m not tanky at all, but that’s what makes it fun too - heal well, damage well, tank like garbage so use speed and evade. You get the feeling like when you beat someone as a healer you outplayed them.
I use caluurion and Darloc + Balorg (wish I had Kena). The trick with Darloc is healing abilities break stealth but not crouch, it’s still a ton of micromanagement though because aoes and damage take you out of crouch so you have to constantly hit crouch and not forget.
Today I tried that Pelinals + Darloc + scourge harvester build. It sorta worked... I think Kena is the missing piece but I need 2 medium monster set pieces.
I only played two games, and in both games there was someone who was damage and healing mix so it’s hard to judge the build, but I hit 1.6 and 1.2 million healing. The damage was absolute trash, 200k or so. It was neat using radiating regen and echoing vigor.
Harvester was just because I’ve never tried it, but I didn’t see the proc go off once.
This definitely looks better, going to try it a couple times and gold it out if it performs well.

Sometimes, especially as a healer, you need to be able to push with your group. One extra person adding an ult or some damage to a push can tip a battle in your favour.

That’s an interesting setup , I haven’t really done any hybrid builds but seems like a lot of management on a spec that already requires more focus and execution than normal. Could get really frustrating.
I don’t build as a healer , I build to kill and off heal but since spell damage increases healing too I can choose to go straight support. I also have a decent amount of max magic. I basically wanted to build a magblade similar to magwarden except you’re single target.
There might be a better monster set to replace Kena too instead of balorg.
Yea, tried Kena and meh as melee, plus 2H was too hard to build merciless stacks. Way too much micromanagement so I went back or a more conservative setup.
What monster set would you suggest? I’m struggling to decide:
- I prefer ranged
- I kite and only dip into melee so that rules out Zaan, plus my pen sucks
- No dots so no skoria
Maybe just a 2 piece willpower?
