The answer is "No" to both questions, right? Otherwise, you dont ask to wait.
You get what you deserve, dont waste time of yours group members.

heres a thought. he may not have realized anything needed adjusted before queue. you know sometimes you notice you need to adjust something once you are in a dungeon.
I guess everyone should kick you from group if you ever need to adjust something. Better not ever have to adjust a hotkey or addon in a dungeon cause its the end of the world.

The OP didn't ask. The group was told to wait. That's rude.

Did the OP tell the group to wait? Maybe they thought they were expected to wait but clearly it wasn't the case. OP just said they needed a bit of time.

And it's FG1. People solo this stuff on vet. He could have caught up before the first boss.

If the OP had a lag spike and couldn't say anything, I wonder if it would have turned out differently.

It was clear that they were expected to wait. That he would catch up, if they did not. The point is that he did not ask. He did it, assuming that they would agree that it was OK. They did not.

It does not matter what dungeon it was. They formed a group. If they had wanted to do it solo, they would not have formed a group.

idk how it looks on NA server..but here on EU if someone is writing he need moment, second to get done something else...this means just he need this moment and group doent have to wait for him if he is no needed here
here it was jsut fg1...so what is problem to clear trash, run to 1st boss like in every other basic game dung after all if you dont wanna to wait for someone literally moment? just to fix something to have playable setting on active addon

I didnt ask them to wait for me, this literally never was needed as I have played since beta, people was waiting or just going clear trash to not waste time if they knew this missing player will be in moment with them, in this situation they just ignored me/didnt read chat or idk, they just pissed off and even replacement in my place...definitelly took longer than kicking cause of still waiting for someone else if he will be or not and then loading screen for someone from replacement so for sure they was not even better with time for waiting for someone else

That's ONE way of reading what the OP said in chat and it's still an assumption.

Another ASSUMPTION is that what the OP said in chat had any bearing on whether he was going to get kicked.

True. It appears that they started, since he collected gold between the statement and the kick. It is reasonable to assume that the absence and reason were the cause of the kick. We can only go on available data, but the conclusion seems sound.

I was adjusting addon in less than minute after informed them "sec" - so just wait, a sec, a moment - just after loaded into dung

they rushed, who cares, I have done addon in less than minute, was going to them and on why I just gathered with autoloot option corpses and funny I just get at them at 1st boss when got kicked..thoughts?

EDIT: btw I started this thread mainly just to show as not nice behaviour isnt only elitisits/meta players/endgamers things, as I wrote on start, 2 of them had just 300cp and 3rd har less than 200cp, just on of example which almost noone is talking about if even where as I wrote....not only high lvl endgamers are so toxic/rude/whatsoever behavior like this

Im running random dungeons a lot, but usually i have good fast group. Otherwise we kick weak or slow player.
    [/quote]

You and your "fast" group need to be kicked in the nuts, or at least in the butts :P
Take some time to help slower or weak players, don't kick them out of the party...

In a hurry? Can't get a group? Just go do it yourself especially if you think you're so uber you can rush through anyway.

And then ZOS can just retire their perpetually broken group finder. If whole trials can get a group together without it, surely a 4-man dungeon can. And if you can't get a team, go solo in the solo version.

Mmm, for all the people asking to adjust things before dungeon...lol nope. I aint gonna stand around waiting 40 minutes in my dungeon setup when i can go do vMA or farm mats or something. I think it is entirely reasonable to adjust things half a minute inside.

If I am reading the timestamps correctly, you said ok and then were kicked a minute later. Is it possible the vote actually occurred before you said ok? With latency, lag, etc they could have decided they didn't know when you would be back and initiated the vote seconds prior to you saying you were ready. I am not a fan of kicking anyone, but I could see this particular event being a case of timing.

OP is assuming that they got kicked because of what he wrote in chat. Since the party didn't communicate anything to them at all, that's just an assumption.
So who knows, maybe they were gonna kick right away anyway.
Since OP got to loot something, it's likely some of them were fighting while one person initiate a kick.

you have always info on chat when vote to kick you is starting and so it is here

just after I was done with addon and moved to them they initiated vote to kick which also was very fast..idk it was something maybe around 10 seconds to get kicked if not less after seeing message about vote to kick

Lack of patience rather than elitism.

OP took the time in chat to ask for a few moments, explained what they needed to do barely 3 minutes later gets vote kicked.

Not like he was just sitting their AFK without saying nothing or left the keyboard, he was there in game adjusting his add on, there was no reason to kick him only to wait for another person in the queue, would have been quicker to wait.

About the only time I stop to adjust an add on in a dungeon is when I have forgotten to turn off MM before the run, since it affects performance.

Don't really have any add ons that are of any use in combat so don't know, what kind of add on OP needed to adjust or how long it would have taken.

All these people who complain he should have been prepared before the dungeon, I would have happily taken OP in my group over a DD I got the other day who didn't carry any soul gems, he was not able revive other group members during boss fights.

Wasn't until the guy died to trash on the way to the next boss fight and asked to be revived that we learnt this, we were only on are way to the second boss, I offered to give him a stack of soul gems before we continued he refused, stated some role play nonsense as his reason.

Before you all start thinking this was an easy dungeon, we were in Moon Hunter Keep, I started the vote kick right after reading his role play reasoning, it passed we got another DD a few minutes later.

Let me also mention this got nothing against role play builds don't care if your not wearing meta sets so long as the group has enough DPS to clear the dungeon but when you try to apply arbitrary role play rules to a group I am in that affect your ability to contribute your getting kicked.

Also took the time to loot while others were waiting for him to "sort an addon"

it is not that hard to loot from bodies on way while having auto loot on, all you need is just to use interract button on any of bodies on way without even stopping
(really this is so rarely usable by players? so they dont even know how easy and fast works this auto loot)
EDIT: ah and btw...yeah, looting just some gold shows I was going somewhere on side from back to loot random containers or looking for special stash of coins in dung

So, if I remember correctly, you are the guy who says he kicks others, in random groups, if they're not good enough?

Yet, you complain if others kick you for not entering the dungeon pre-prepared?

    Interesting.

is he? didnt see him mention that in his OP. I do know that the toxic players like to accuse anyone who stands up to them of being toxic.

Well, he has said things in other threads about how he thinks it is fine to kick people, if they aren't good enough and has been accused of being "toxic" and "elitist" himself, in those threads.

So, now he is trying to turn that around and say that other people, who aren't high level players, are also toxic and elitist, because they kicked him for going AFK to fix an addon.

That seems to be the whole point of this thread - to say he isn't the only toxic and elitist one, who kicks people without good reason.

Most people don't like to waste time. If you're doing something that you enjoy, you'll be more tolerant than if it's something you feel that you have to do.

If you're at a restaurant with some good friends, you most likely won't complain if you have to wait an additional 5 minutes, because you're having a good time and you're not in a rush. If you're standing in line at your local store, even a minute or two can become frustrating very quickly.

Some people enjoy their dungeon experiences, and they won't mind waiting for a minute or two at the start. On the other hand, you have people who don't enjoy the dungeon (100th+ time, etc), and it's more of a chore for them, perhaps they have to do a daily dungeon on several different character. Those two minutes of waiting can become just as frustrating as standing in a line at your local store.

I'm absolutely sure that if the cashier had issues with something, and there was a button to replace the cashier, A LOT of people would push the button to send her away.

Elitism is the belief or attitude that individuals who form an elite—a select group of people with an intrinsic quality, high intellect, wealth, special skills, or experience—are more likely to be constructive to society as a whole, and therefore deserve influence or authority greater than that of others.

It means that you come prepared to the instance/dungeon/activity/trial in the broadest sense of the word, from potions to cp's to gear and mechanics. If not you're wasting peoples time.

one thing also some people dont consider, which baffles me a bit...

Not everyone has the same time frame to play the game, and seeing its FG1 which is one of the fastest dungeons to do, telling 3 people that are strangers to you, that you havent played with before to wait, because you weren't prepared when getting into the dungeon, kinda makes it your own fault abit, dont expect people to give up their time ingame always.

Would I had kicked you for the reason, not in a millions years, I would probably first asked how long it would take, to judge if I had time to wait, its not personal, its just some days my game time is limited and with events going on and worlds to explorer, I dont always feel like waiting.

not even a full minute of me "afking" on start adjusting fast addon just after I noticed I need to do this and after inform on chat...and just on way to rest teama nd welp, all I can say is GG to everyone crying so much on "elitism" or being jerk on high lvl players

sorry, but I was not fast enough to get screen before kick of dungeon as this was not so long time of waiting for kick outside of this

Why people must wait you to make 3-5 minutes dunguan ?

Why can not you start dunguan prepared fir it, is it not enough time to prepare before ?

FG1 is 3 minutes dunguan ? Why people need to wait you more than they pass the dunguan ?

Are you so self important toxic eletist , that you can not prepare before run and make people wait for you more than they run dunguan and make posts like that ?

Solution: Devs add a timer to dungeons where you have to wait 10 minutes before you can kick someone.

This is not a good solutions because it can ruin runs. Trust me.

This sounds like people simply didn't want to wait for someone fixing something. I've seen it happen; I've been kicked while trying to sell stuff after maxing out my inventory.

If you can not kick - you just leave party.

If some one do not play good , it is not problem kick him after 10 minutes.

If some one try kick some one with no reason, it is not a problem to kick that kick starter.
    Or leave the group.

Why is it a big deal to wait less than a minute on someone for any quick thing? Hell, just start without them if you want to. How is this in any way reason to kick someone?
Imagine not being able to be the teeniest, minimal amount of cordial towards other players. Come on folks.

It could be 3 premades kicked you cuz their 4th player suddenly arrive or an awful mistake - "kick button" located near "ready check" button, so it could be just an accident. Or something else that we don't know.

Im with you OP, yet can't accuse that 3 players who kicked you, since we can't hear their version of what happened.

Not if you’re a new tank looking to learn in one of the easiest dungeons out there. Then it makes a pile of sense.

I’d totally recommend an add-on like Untaunted to get you used to maintaining an effective taunt.

What will get you laughed at is being a patronising loser with an idiot’s attitude.

The only logical conclusion for such act is, if they bring someone instead of you. It was a jerk move not telling, but kicking you for adjusting addons is bad move. Re-queue usually takes over 10 minutes, or more. So kicking you did not helped their run in any way. Unless, if they already know who to bring.

I met with such team. They asked me to leave, because their pre-made healer wanted to come, and i did. Nothing personal.

The only time i left in super early was when i had a 15k. health "tank" in Frostvault, and group refused to kick him, and he refused to change his health somehow. Otherwise i at least see the first group of adds. I leave after that if dungeon is not super easy, and DD is below pathetic.
