Stamplar now does less DPS than all other classes INCLUDING Magicka

I wish they would change Minor Fracture/Breach to the magicka version instead of the stupid heal. That way, healers would be happy and they could revert the change from PotL. However, I don't think Stamina Templars would like losing Minor Fracture/Breach on their skill.

Have it, Stamplar now pulls more not using POTL in the rotation at all.

    Here are some suggestions:
    3. Each time you damage an enemy with Biting Jabs, you gain a Ferocity stack, increasing your critical strike rating by 2% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 8 times. Each jab hit refreshes the duration of Ferocity.
I would take any of the above or combinations of them...

    How about, no...

Look, jabs is garbage and really needs a buff, but I'd be much more interested in a fix that doesn't tie every stamplar and large number of magplars into playing jab-jab-jabbity, mister MacStabhappy builds. You need to be constantly spamming it to benefit from Spear wall passive Minor protection, and a large portion of our class damage is tied into burning light procs. Which only trigger with Aedric spear abilities, and pretty much all of them are weak crappy skills and only two come with stamina morphs. And the stamina javelin is garbage, I get a much better stun from using a bow.

A magplar can at least use shards to proc burning light, but let's face it, ever since they took away the stun, that skill's viability took a big hit. It's a support skill through and through, and it doesn't even offer a unique utility anymore.

And even if they buff jabs to be a useful skill, you run into all the issues it has with targeting and lag, and as an AOE it suffers mightily from major evasion. So it's usefulness in PVP is questionable, and in PVE... Well I still maintain that going as a melee DPS in the newer dungeons and trials is a bad idea. The gameplay is far too mobile for it to be worth it. They'd have to buff it to crazy levels for the risk to be worth it, and then it would over perform in PVP.

The skill really needs different mechanics for PVE and PVP, but ZOS wont do it, since they keep telling us they want all skills behave the same in both PVE and PVP (except, of course, in those cases they don't, for reasons.)

So what would be your suggestion, because id be open to them. I think every class should have a mechanic like what DK has on the PTS, where they need to do certain actions in order to activate a passive that stacks and buffs damage. The passive needs to be something that is earned, meaning you have to make a specific rotation to maximize its uptime. I thought about jabs because its a skill that all stamplars use (In PvE) and I would like magplars to use in PvE (since no magplar currently uses jabs in endgame).

I think it's fine that Stamplars rely mostly on the Aedirc Spear skill line. It has the best synergies and makes the most sense out of all class abilities to have stamina morphs.

So, how about a stamina morph for Spear Shards?

I mean that would definitely fix things, but I've been told that stam classes will not be getting another ground based AoE. So perhaps make the other morph of shards not a shard, but "Gust of Spears" a whirling blades size AoE that deals physical damage.

I think making something similar to new molten whip is the best idea, like you proposed before, this would help both stamplar and magplar at the same time.

healers are suppose to Heal people, yes, they can do damage, but it should be limited.
why? because that would be overpowered to be able mass damage and mass heals.
the more you can heal, the less damage you should be able to do.
it only makes sense, and no im not joking.
    my honest beliefs.
if you dont want to heal then why be a templar?

Why be a templar? Because I like to kill things as a templar. And it’s been working out pretty well so far, thanks.

Now I have cheesed my Vigor tooltip over 20k before, but even I’m not so crazy as to think that makes me a healer in PvE. Stamplars are first and foremost a dps build, and they need to remain viable. Telling us to “heal or go home” is insulting and non-constructive.

PotL can't crit and doesn't scale with weapon/spell damage. Is there anything else it does not benefit from? It seems as if the proverbial power creep has not affected it in some ways.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I always thought PotL should explode when the damage cap is reached, rather than waiting the full duration... similar to the way Mage's Wrath deals its bonus damage when the health threshold is crossed. A good raid group could proc the explosion more frequently, yet in PvP, Battle Spirit mitigates the speed at which the explosion is reached.

I have three Templars and was about to start a fourth. It's my go-to class for everything. This preliminary PTS news makes me sad.

That would not be a good idea. That would mean that on some fights you could nearly spam the skill. Because of how quickly it fills up

I suppose so, due to group contribution. *sigh* Templar is my primary class since console launch, through all the nerfs and bugs, and finally was having fun with it after the past couple of patches.

Both stamplar and magplar are trash on PTS, don't bother playing one.

You must be a troll or be pretty trash because I’ve seen mag/stam plar parses contending and out contending other classes

im struggling to understand this threads requests

Stamina templar has the 2nd worst healing in the game, only in front of Stamina Nightblade.

    Do you understand now?

Double dips in resistances, both while storing and releasing damage, what a mess.

On the topic of shards, on my healer, and a lot of other end game healers, we run blazing spear because the extra damage outweighs the minuscule resources.

Sucks, but something has to be in last place. I mean, if it wasn't stamplar, it'd be something else.

And I'm saying this as someone who has a stamplar as their main/original character. They are what they are and I still like playing him.

but then question...if stamplar when why this stamplar should be on last place for over years? this patch is nothing special at all, stamplar before this patch almost nonstop is at the end of chain of dps but is not that much away from rest while this patch is putting this stamplar even fara away from rest than it is currently

Magden and StamDK were behind stamplar. Magsorc was slightly behind until the latest patch. So in no way Stamplar was the worst dps class, that has been a myth for years.

Sorry for the negativity, but I am beyond my frustration level with the current direction ZOS is going with Templars. I love my Stamplar and Magplar - both my mains and highest content acheivements on my account.

Instead of us debating what ZOS should do with the class, we should be asking for the Devs to clearly outline and define their logic and reasoning for making the obscene changes to this class time and time again...

I would actually be happier if ZOS flat out said "We just don't like Templar and want to give its attributes to a more appealing class" than silently nerf it into the ground. At least then I could know 100% that Templar is RIP and I can move on confidently to another game...

Dude, what is this? Magplar is not only fine, but one of the strongest classes for vet trial raiding, our strongest dot has even been buffed! Everybody panicing because of necro dummy cheese parses? I don't get it. Stamina has always been in a bad spot but that is not dps-related.
