Wow i am flabbergasted..
Just bought eso plus yesterday after not playing eso for 6 months or so,if i knew there would be such a long maintenance i wouldnt have got it.
Seems not much has changed (developed) here......
If this leaves you flabbergasted, I can't imagine how you react to learning of all the other things that don't revolve around you.
navystylz_ESO wrote: »It's stunning how people can defend 8 hour maintenance periods. Even for a patch that's an absurd amount of time. Though, unlike the OP, I didn't return to ESO with higher expectations. They lured me back with the promise of the Necromancer, soonᵗᵐ.
Also past experience has taught me to not have any expectations that things got fixed any better. So will probably still have these ridiculous load screens. People who complained about Anthem load screens would be apoplectic in this game, lol.
Exactly, stunning it is,it almost looks like they get crowns for defending ZoS.
i've been reading through this whole thread. It's quite entertaining watching all the people act tough.
Dont worry man, back to your original post -
Yes it sucked that you just subbed to ESO plus . Now you have -8 hours of membership left. You lost a night of playing is what your getting at.
And what your trying to say is that you wished that you had purchased it after the maintenance if you had known about it right?
I downloaded the whole game again took 4 hours and then went to log on and there was maintenance.
lol
Feel for you man, thats more tough after having the game downloaded again for couple of hours and then have this (ridicolous long) maintenance waiting for you.
And yes indeed thats why i am anoyed about this a bit, that i bought eso plus yesterday cause i am having a couple of days of from work, and didnt realise the "almost middle of the week and middle of day"(at least for my timezone) maintenance schedule ZoS handles.
If it was a normal 3-4 hour maintenance i wouldnt even come to complain about it (again) here.
Its not the worst thing, life goes one, enjoying a cold beer in the sun meanwhile.
But imo its sure worth complaining about as i am free to do so.

I played and still play lots of MMO's for 2 decades, none of them had these ridicolous maintenance times as eso has.
Fact.
For the last 3 years you have joined this game, you always make threads about maintenance crying on the forums.
And I am sure you have not played "lots of MMO's for 2 decades", otherwise you could have been 40+ year old like myself.

It would probably kill him if he knew that the world really revolves around this:
you realised info about a maintenance patch was published a week ago... on this very site.
also seems like you're complaining for the sake of it - what difference does 8 hours make? if it botheres you that much, play overnight.
some people. smh

Guess my expectations that Zenimax would get better at maintaining theyr maintenance times were to high.
Playing this game for over 2 years but i havent been here for couple of months and no i didnt check how long maintenance would take before i bought eso plus yesterday,if i checked it i would probably waited 2 days before buying it or wouldnt buy it at all..
We are costumers,we pay for something,we arent Zenimax employees.
In fact ,we pay the employees and staff.
Well, they did get better. Last year I spent at least 3 days (maybe even up to 5 days) during Anniversary with EU server down due to DoS and (unexpected )maintenance

What are you exactly?
You're "flabbergasted". Said you wouldn't have bought ESO plus if you knew there'd be such a long maintenance.
Then follow that up immediately with saying nothing has changed or improved, i.e. you couldn't possibly have been surprised by the 8 hour maintenance.

Zenimax has massively improved on maintenance times. It used to be 6 to 8 hours regularly every single week. Nowadays regular maintenance is 2-4 hours and some weeks are skipped. You just happened to be unlucky that on the first day you get back ZoS is doing a really big maintenance to hopefully fix some of the dungeon finder issues.

In your expert opinion, how long should patch maintenance be?
3 hours for a normal weekly maint and about 4/5 hours in extreme case (when new content, events)
There wasn't a maintenance last week, the last scheduled maintenance was on 03/25 for PC (which was just over 3 hours fyi). and 03/27 for console (was 2 hours).
So ZoS went two week without maintenance which means this 8 hour maintenance averages out at 4h/week.

Check his profile and discussions. He always complains over the last 3 years about maintenance.
And apparently every time is happening the day he returned to the game.
His last break wasn't 6 months ago, but since July 2017, when he had just returned on the game with ESO+ and complained Morrowind wasn't included.....

Is ESO+ for only a day? I thought it was at least monthly.

I just simply lost interest in the game. So theres no way I was going to sit on forums and wait for a thread I could jump on to be super troll pimple face.
Ningan
Ok, this was YOUR experience. In your post you made the assertion that "he obviously lost interest and hasn't been following up to date info with ESO".

I got it yesterday because i got 4 days of from work this week.
If i knew that there was a 8 hour maint on the 2nd day of my days then i wouldnt got it or at least waited 2 days.
Dont know about you but i care for the money i worked hard for.
