AGS would still show you empty pages that you need to click and go through, untill on the 10th page you would finally see the motif you don't know yet. The new default UI shows it all on 1 page which makes the search much faster. And btw. You can still hover mouse coursor over a motif page and see if it sasy "known motif style". New base game ui is better than AGS imho (unless of course we will have new version of AGS addon that will be able to display all search results on one page).

It's mostly due to time constraints. Unlike addon authors they cannot just make something and release it. They have many separate teams involved. Designers to plan how it is supposed to look like, management to approve, UI programmers to implement, server programmers to provide the backend APIs, artists to create the assets, QA to test everything. In addition they have to create, update and fix many more UI elements than just the guild store. There is simply not enough time for them to catch up with the extensive feature set of a big addon.
I'm glad I won't need it any more, it was always a hassle to use with a controller and the new official UI is many times faster. I don't miss any functionality, quite the opposite.
Awesome Guildstore is a terrible addon. It just doesn't work properly when using search function. It has been confirmed by me and tens of my friends who had similiar issues. I'm glad that we have this fuction by default. As for the other functions there are better addons like Group Loot Notifier or FCO Item Saver.

Just wondering - will someone post here when the add-on is adequately updated? :O

Zos makes the game worse with every update. If it ain't broke don't fix it

If a new version of the mod can work though ZoS own new filtering capabilities, then it will offer the best of both worlds. If not, I may turn AGS on for some characters but off for others for a while. I'll still be delighted to have AGS overall.
Ui downloaded the beta version of AGS last night. Wow, just wow. While stock UI changes are awesome, they make AGS even better than was before. Fast. Heck yea. Other QOL changes in AGS are nice too
So, yes, AGS is still desired. Needed? Each person has to decide
