The solution is very simple: Reset the campaign timer on launch day.

Why rush to reach max lvl? Who cares if there are people ahead of you?
To be fair, anyone out there PvPing cares. While the buff on entry does help some, the difference between a level 20 and a level 10 in sheer damage output is enormous. And I am positive folks are already level 30 or higher, saw a 28 at the bank in Davon's Watch yesterday evening.

    Two words - Soul Gems.

I will admit I am not fully awake, but... what? Soul gems don't work for self-rez in Cyrodiil. And thanks to how the buff applies, players can only be raised with Grand Gems, which aren't exactly affordable to anyone entering at lower levels (let alone, are they even usable with the level 50 req on them?)

Correct, that is why the rush to max level - which was what I was referring to. The side that can raise the most people during battle will have an advantage - that advantage can only be had by level 50's - hence the max level comment. So, maybe now that you are more awake you can see why I posted what I did.

Ok, I see what you were saying. Confused the hell out of me, because I thought the soul gems comment was some kind of counter reason against why folks would want to abuse it to level faster. Caffeine god has arrived.

Grand Soul Gems cost 121 gold and can be filled off any mob in Cyrodiil. The guild I am in has no problem having them filled at all times, even for the level 10s that join Cyrodiil.

I see no problem with this. The fact my campaign as a Pact player has been almost completely overrun by the Covenant has nothing whatsoever to do with my support. Honestly. I swear. Stop looking at me like that.

The reason it matter is because it not IMPOSSIBLE to compete with the peope who completed it a jillion times for emperor and will have to wait untill next season ( 4 months away) cause they have a huge point advantage and it gives it to the highest AP person on the alliance. So this season is EFFED. I will wait till next season now. Reset the damn leaderboard to make it fair now.

Most MMO's have specific rules about using exploits. Just because the bug is there for you to exploit. Seen plenty times on WoW that exploiters were either banned outright or had a cooling off period of some time. If people here exploited something... just set their characters back to lvl 1. Beyond rolling back ill-gained xp there is the desire to abuse the system. Add something punitive to it. Teach people to not abuse something simply because it is possible.

While I agree about real exploiters being punished. Harshly. With no lubricants. This really isn't quite in the same boat. Plus you are looking at some huge amounts of CS time/effort to figure out who gets rolled back how much among the thousands of people who have been in Cyrodiil across all the campaigns so far.

A simple campaign reset, ideally for the official launch, would alleviate many of the concerns and make things easier to deal with on their end. (For the record, I have completed the affected quest all of three times).

I'm really confused on this whole line of argument. First anyone was able to repeat the quest it awarded a small amount of xp, gold and AP like 1,000 something I think. Now what you all will find out is players was using the AP for purchasing repair kits and so forth. what will happen now that the main source of AP coins is gone? Second how is it unfair. there will be no Emperor until all the conditions for naming one are met. AP wont matter until then, unless your worried about leader boards and at that point stroke your own e-peen cause it really doesn't matter. Now the soul gem thing, they cost a lot more than I would like to spend but anyone can buy them and use them if they fill them. I don't really see how the repeatable quest could be bad and I think more things will go wrong with it being changed then most want to admit.

Last I checked, we had an Emperor over in Volendrung already, and his position is fairly secure thanks to the point lead he and his guildies have over everyone else.

a level 10 can buy them and fill them. there is no need to be lvl 50 for this.

    Actually I hear there's a 50 out there.

You can "care" about this if you want to, but I plan to be around here for the long haul and I could care less if someone has leveled ahead of me. Lucky them, I'll catch up eventually ... besides, in the story it's the tortoise that wins the race, not the rabbit.

If there is a level 50 player in this game already ZOS needs to look real hard at the player. Cause whatever they did had to be a hack.

I'm not even sure we should call this a BUG, that's the way the quest operated in every beta I participated in --- I imagine someone just figured it was too easy a farm. Yeah, they should have figured it out during the beta but you can't blame the players and they shouldn't be punished. Perhaps the best solution would be to give everyone who enters Cyrodil an "extra" boost in AP .

WOW everyone knows that there will always be people that find some way to take advantage of something in a game to gain an advantage over everyone else. PVP in most games ESO now included where some have abused the game and now are griefers in PVP.

So I would recommend that any player caught taking advantage should be banned for a week , or 2 :)

I'm a lot more concerned about the gold that's available, how far above the anticipated curve gold availability it is, and what effect it's going to have on this game establishing a healthy economy. It's already going to be hard, as the merchant systems in game aren't as robust as others, IMO.
