We are aware that some Steam players are having issues logging into the North American and European PC/Mac megaservers. We are actively investigating and will let you know when we have an update.

How often has this to happen until your investigations come to a conclusion and a solution is found so it doesn't happen anymore?

AGAIN a login error for all Steam users? The last time we had problems lasting for more than a month until this was fixed!
As there is no way for me to log in without Steam (NO I am not able to use my account name and password since my account was made using Steam!), I guess there goes my login count for this months big reward.
Very frustrating, I was looking forward to playing today...

++ i can't buy collector's edition, i can't login after every patch.. if steam or ZOS steam team can't fix root cause of all this they should just transfer our accounts to bethesda system.. though they may mess up in the process

Was fine earlier, then I stopped to grab something to eat and now can't get back on. PC-NA.
I'd love to see the ability to transfer your Steam ESO over to the actual (non-Steam) one....without having to buy it again

yes. At one time I contemplated posting a daily warning thread titled "Don't buy ESO on Steam" but I figured I'd probably be banned from the forums or similar....

yes. At one time I contemplated posting a daily warning thread titled "Don't buy ESO on Steam" but I figured I'd probably be banned from the forums or similar....

Haha I remember seeing some threads with the title 'Don't buy ESO via steam' when this thing started

if you own the base game twice like myself you can find ESO64 app to get in to the game so for me I have a drive just for steam game E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client then open ESO64 you will need to login to enter the game ( I forgot password so had to make a new one ) but I am now in game

It doesn't work for people who have had an account after a certain cut off point. It works for some, but not all, this was already discussed a few posts up

I have had an account for years on steam and it doesn't work for me. (would be nice if we could actually link our accounts so we can bypass steam if we wish without having to re-purchase)

I was wondering if there is an update and/or ETA on this? Steam User here. First became aware at around 16:20BST and still unable to login.

So.. I am so not surprised seeing as I have Steam (funny I don't recall paying less for it) but what happens to the Murkmire Login reward? Do we have to Login every day for this month to get it? If today is a dead loss to me do I just lose out? @ZOS_GinaBruno

There is a post on ESOReddit that claims another set of workaround steps. Just trying to keep things straight, I don't have STEAM account to verify myself.

Does this look like anything different than what does or doesn't work. especially the 2017 date issue:

Use the sign in through steam option, this will let ZOS know which TES product keys you own via steam.

Reset ESO account password if you can't remember or don't have one

Then navigate to \Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client on your PC

Click on eso64, enter your username and password. It will let you login and play the game

EDIT: you might have to create an ESO account before hand, not really sure. The above method works for me whenever the steam link is down

Impossible. Can't change password because it requires you to input your current password. But you don't have a current ESO password since you logged in with your Steam credentials. Ergo: you're screwed.

No, this does not work at all, same restrictions apply. It's the same steps as what has been offered further up the post.

How does this keep happening? You'd think there'd be parts of the code that they'd keep apart from the rest that's for logins, but nope, this just happens every so often and we never get a word as to why. Do they even test this properly before sorting a patch out? If they do why does it then break later on when people try to connect?

Would be good to read even a short paragraph explaining why it's happened just for once.

So an unofficial update: The servers are fine. We just all need new computers. Zenimax is currently selling ESO approved PCs on their website for the low price of $1500 which can be billed monthly at $75 a month for 48 months.

No there's several days you can miss and still get it. Good job because even though I've played every day, I logged in the first day to find that the last day was greyed out and a timer was counting down before I could even get the first reward (played on the day as it was counting down to new month and no rewards left, next day logged in and I saw the last day was greyed out and a new timer counting down to around midnight.) That might be some normal thing where I've messed up, but surely if you play on the day it started that shouldn't happen. But yeah you can miss several days and still get Murkmire so this alone won't affect that.

Mm-m... clearly, changes to enchantments is the cause of the bug. Should just roll them back, and everything will be fixed. (Huh, where's that trollface smiley... ^^)

Seriously though, time to start offering free non-Steam copies to Steam users. We already paid for the copies, and ZOS already got the money.

Ah thank you! Couldn't remember the name or location of the non-steam Executable! I actually did buy the game through Steam in late 2017, however, I got so sick of the Steam login issues, I took the opportunity to buy the base game in June through the Bethesda site pre-summerset launch special for 10 Euros. I'm in thanks. Guess I'll be buying another non-steam copy for the hubby too now. 4 copies of the game now. Sheesh XD
