Look for a file named eso64 within your Steam folder and open the game that way.

and trying to log trough steam account gives "Connection to server timed out. Please try again later."
What is it about Steam? This is not the first time I've seen log in issues with Steam. I didn't buy from Steam nor do I log in through Steam, but, is there a way for the Steam users to bypass them and log in, well, like non-Steam users do? I mean can you pull it up from the exe game files on your computer and get in that way? I've had to do that with WoW when their launcher crashed, I just used the game files themselves to log in directly and bypass their launcher.
No. They completely blocked any and all possibilities to login in any other way when these Steam fun-times happen. They do provide a solution for you though: buy the game again through the website, you'll even get to keep the same account ...

This method only works if your account was created before a certain date. Newer players are screwed as there is no alternative login method.2 -

✭✭@Azriael2 , it depends on when you got the game and registered. At certain point ZOS separated logins, and newer users can't bypass logging in through steam anymore, much like @Olquorron mentioned earlier.0 -

But, If ZOS decides to leave this issue unresolved until midnight for new Steam users, I will be be very upset.
I really hope we do get some kind of response that they are at least looking into this.

Yeahno. I got into NA for a while but then I tried to get back into EU. Now I can't get into either.PC NA, PC EU

This has been an issue for a loooong time. It keeps coming back and Im sure they are and will continue to be "looking into it"....1
