Lets look at this another way.
They are giving away this month approx 2,900 crowns worth of stuff with the crates and the pet.
This works out at approx £22 per account and people want more.
This is only taking into account the crown marked stuff so would be more if you take into account other crown store items not marked.
As with anything they will have constraint on what they can give away.
Otherwise the accountants or account dept would go nuts and we also wouldn't have a game as nobody is buying stuff anymore.

I know there's a timer but by my estimate (around 4pm PST?) that makes the reset time different from the time dailies reset. Just want to know for certain so I don't miss any rewards! Thanks!

Absolutely agree. There are some sweet items as rewards. Thanks Zos
Lol, you must have missed the last few time we had free crates just for logging in. So many complaints. People were actually saying they were going to avoid playing, so they didn't get the crates. There is looking a gifthorse in the mouth, then there is this *** ridiculously insulting crowd.
This is just fatiguing. I get a pop up about it when I log on to each character an a pop up when I log off--and the log off one has a freaking timer.
Also, I'm tried of seeing this community turn more into a gimme-gimme crowd than people who actually want to play the game.
So, yeah. elderscrolls.com>my account>manage membership>cancel. Done.
Didn't they say the first month includes a new Psijic Mascot Guar Calf pet? I mean the Fennec is super sweet but I'm curious...
Why... are people complaining about free stuff? o_O

Why do I have the feeling that if every day the reward would be something totally awesome (style pages, pets, mounts, etc every day for example) the same people would complain about it making the game unfair?
Oh right, because people are just here to complain -_-
Like, if you don't want the stuff, destroy/vendor it. Accepting the item(s), opening your inventory and destroying the thing are like 3 clicks, they're not gonna kill you? Personally I'm happy with these rewards, they're gonna come in handy for leveling some new character!
(Also who knows what they'll do next month, this system just started out and everyone's acting like everything about how it'll work is already set in stone and won't ever change.)
PS: These are also nice rewards to get new players going and get them interested in sticking with the game! "Alliance points are cool, maybe I'll check out PVP! Tel Var Stones are cool, I think I wanna try my luck in the Imperial City! Oh, it lets me revive right here where I died with this gem stone? How cool!" If you expect everything to cater to you as a long-time, experienced player who only has use for the rare, valuable stuff and thinks everything else is beneath them, you're just not a nice person, sorry

You do realize that this is based on prices they set for crown items that many of us wouldn't pay 2 cents for right? I mean seriously! Who pays for consumables with cash when they can buy player crafted for gold? It's not like crown Poisons are that much more effective than crafted! If they were, people would be screaming Pay To Win on them!

Umm, the £22 is based on the crown crates and pet. I mean seriously if you are going to make an argument please make sure you are making a valid point.
Now granted they are a gamble what is in them but they are free so who cares.
And then you even contradict yourself by saying the stuff is trash but if it wasn't people would be complaining about stuff being play to win. So no matter what they do you would be complaining?
You would rather they give away nothing or you want more?
ZOS are making an effort to please the community. Now whilst I do not agree with everything they do this is one of the times I do and think they have got it right.

Funny how one letter more makes it the exact opposite.

Same Tel Var as killing 1 mob in IC, same AP as one third of a keep tick usually, less gold than handing in 1 daily craft quest. Dunno whether to feel rewarded or insulted. For daily "rewards", some of these sure are extremely underwhelming.
Also, I like Santie's idea, instead of giving us trash pots and foods and gems that no on uses, give us a container with a random motif page from a specific new motif, a random blue or purple tiered furnishing recipe, a random selection of 5 motif stones etc etc. You know, things that could actually be useful, or sold for a bit of coin to the next player. That would feel much more rewarding than useless consumables that no one really uses.
The crates and pets and stuff is nice, even if you changed the pet from what was originally advertised.

nobody uses style stones anymore.
Would be worthwhile if you could convert the crown items to gems, but now we will have two separate stacks of junk poisons, meals, etc. Clogging up bank and inventory space. Why not make these bound items stack?

Khajiit would politely disagree traveller. Certain style stones are very much in demand by those who craft furnishings. Especially right now a certain kind of lacquer ...

I'm less than impressed with a lot of the rewards. Making them crown crate items so you can exchange what you don't want for gems sounds great.
I also like Santie's idea of having boxes a couple times a week instead.

seems that there are more than enough in game though. From my perspective at least.
kinda wonder what happens if you miss a day or more.
in an other mmo you started all over but their rewards steadily improved over the days. perhaps here you just continue on where you left off which would make more sense than just skipping over the day.
Notable Rewards:
Day 7: scalecaller crate
Day 14: Fox pet
Day 20: 5 Psijiic crates
I am glad that it isn't a system where you have a chance of getting say 100k gold just for signing in. The rewards look balanced.
