OK, look, I'm CP941 right now. All my toons have maxxed out inventory slots, I have maxxed out bank slots and house storage, I have to spend a portion of every day I play just clearing out invneotry just so i don't virutally drown in stuffz and here's ZOS giving me crown crap that doesn't stack with the crown crap I got from past rewards and oh thanks for the XP scroll, at CP941 that'll come in handy.

Ugh. I didn't want this, i didn't ask for it, and I don't like the game going "But don't you want your free stuffzz??" when i try to log off without claiming it. It's not why I log on, so it's just noise and distraction from what I like about the game, so no thanks.

The problem is that next month will have different rewards. There will be different crown crates, presumably. There will be a different collection item.

I googled the GW2 system to have an idea of what you are talking about. Are you suggesting that the day of the free collection item when maybe get to choose from a list of daily reward collection items (assuming that each month makes another one available)? Or that we get maybe to choose a crown crate on the final day from the list of crown crates that had been included? Right now there is a clear schedule of which crown crates will be available and the crown crates themselves are also only available for a limited time. I suppose they could play with that.

Clearly the GW2 approach encourages daily logging in while not being as coercive about it and completely avoids the disappointment of missing the big payoff by one logic. ESO would just have to figure out how they want to handle the timed release of crown crates when making those part of the rewards.
