I have not logged in yet. Are those "freebies" character bound - just like some level-up rewards ? Or I can bank them or just move to my housing storage ?

So... we don't know :) I'll wait for an official answer, or the next Monday like everyone else ^^

Oh...the release was actually pretty explanatory. The rewards are cumulative. Younget reward one the first day of the month you log in. Then if you log in the next day, number two. But if you wait a week, then on that next log you get number two.

You progress up,the ladder until, you get them all or the month ends and we reset.

Is that a Scalecaller crate first, then 5 Psijic crates next?

And what is the pet? The news said a Psijic guar pet, but the icon seems more like a kitten of some kind. It's kinda hard to see from the small icons?

Hm, the news post said psijic guar the first month. Maybe it'll come next month with the psijic crates instead.

    Really?
You dont "have to" log in. Just dont. How is this turning into P2W?! First of all, you dont have to pay anything to get those rewards. You get these without any DLC or Chapter bought. Everyone who owns the game gets these. Also the stuff does not make you any stronger. The meals, potions, poisons can all be made ingame. There is no advantage in these to ingame stuff whatsoever.

So please stop this p2w nonsense. They give you free stuff. Take it or leave it.

Seriously? You think this is P2W? What are you having to pay for aside from, perhaps, a sub which you would already have been paying for? Nor do you HAVE to log in daily.

Keep playing for fun. You'll get a little something each day you play for fun.

This is what I love about gaming on the internet. People will complain about free stuff.

And from the looks of things, this is one of the best daily login rewards systems I've seen - they tell you up front what you'll be getting (or missing), and there appears to be slack in the system to allow some misses. They even appear to have skipped hiding neat stuff behind huge login counts, so people who take extended breaks aren't permanently left behind the field. These features combine to make it quite player friendly.

Honestly, I don't know what more people could ask for here.

Why don't you explain how this is pay to win? Answer, I can't but I'm gonna complain anyway because that's my nature. I mean seriously, this is probably the worst comment I've come across yet about "free stuff". If you don't want it, don't log in. Easy. Good grief. Sadly enough, this is the attitude in RL I come across everyday. Entitlement is skyrocketing.

Simple. The mere fact that they have to give free stuff every day you log in proofs there is something going wrong with the game. And most p2w games function on the same principle. Give the crowd a free potato and hopefully they buy a car so your business can survive another month. If a game is good on its own you dont need give away free stuff to make people buy your stuff ingame.

Bosh. The "stuff on login" is something that many of the "better" MMOs are doing and they certainly aren't failing, nor is ESO. I really can't understand where all the "ESO dying" stuff is coming from and am beginning to think "ESO is dying" is a code phrase for "I don't like the game anymore" or "I'm not happy with how the game is progressing" or "It's not progressing as I think it should.".

There is no P2W happening. Pay to Win means you give a company money to buy your way to being better at playing the game than those who don't pay for items/skills/perks. Free stuff at login (which some are whinging isn't worth doodly squat, nevermind P2W level) and the occasional free pet aren't signs of a game failure, they're more a "hey, glad you are playing our game".

Besides, there is no bloody "winning" in an MMO.

Actually that's not remotely true. Businesses evolve, change marketing tactics often. It's not an indication whatsoever that anything is going on with the game. It simply means they are trying new avenues to attract/retain customers. Now, try again. Explain how daily login rewards are P2W instead of some faux doom scenario that makes literally no sense to anyone that has ever worked in marketing.

It's really like some of you don't understand that the sole purpose of a for profit business is to maximize revenue streams. This requires an evolving strategy. As someone else pointed out, this is hardly a new idea in the world of MMOs.

It's not about pay to win, its about addiction psychology. MMO's are addictive by nature and the makers strive to make them even more addictive. Often the way somebody breaks free of this pull is completely accidental. Either life gets so busy they can't log in for awhile, or more commonly they try out a new game with zero attention of actually leaving the mmo. But while it is out of sight, they addiction wears off and what once seemed life or death slowly begins to seem to be the meaningless pixels that they are. By giving a strong incentive to log in at least a moment every day they stop this from happening and retain customers.

OK, look, I'm CP941 right now. All my toons have maxxed out inventory slots, I have maxxed out bank slots and house storage, I have to spend a portion of every day I play just clearing out invneotry just so i don't virutally drown in stuffz and here's ZOS giving me crown crap that doesn't stack with the crown crap I got from past rewards and oh thanks for the XP scroll, at CP941 that'll come in handy.

Ugh. I didn't want this, i didn't ask for it, and I don't like the game going "But don't you want your free stuffzz??" when i try to log off without claiming it. It's not why I log on, so it's just noise and distraction from what I like about the game, so no thanks.

Nothing. Those 5 days are just a "skip days" - so you don't miss any reward even if you can't log in in given day.

I don't really get the principle of "skip days" - does this mean you don't need to log in every day although this seems to be the principle?

No, the principle is not logging in every day. The principle here is getting people to log on regularly. That should be obvious by the fact that they don't make people log in every day.

This is a recognition that people have lives and this is not a mobile game. People can't just open ESO up on their phone while on a business trip or at their kid's recital.

There is no paying involved in this. Why do people like to jump to p2w at any change they don't personally care for. Keep playing for fun. Nothing was removed from the game.
