Armor Master: Usable again? Low/mid/High tier?

So now that the heavy armor skill has been buffed to last 20 seconds instead of 6, is the Armor Master set worth using on a tank as mid or top-tier gear? Previously the reason I was given by endgame players that it was a garbage set was that the cost to maintain the armor skill was way too high because it was so short. Now that this is fixed, should I make Armor Master gear for my characters to tank with? Literally all of them are Argonians, so I would benefit even more from this set than most other non-argonian tanks.
It would also give me some control over how my character looks without having to resort to costumes, which is a major plus.
The characters I would be using to tank are my magicka NB (which already has all of the skillpoints needed to craft, DPS, and tank) and my DK (which was a bad tank with pre-buff armor master that I could not use in endgame content, and recently switched to magicka DK) once I get him enough skill points.
If not armor master, what sets do NBs and DKs optimally tank with?

✭✭✭✭✭Armor Master keeps getting more obsolete every patch ... which is a shame considering it is a 9-trait set. There are a lot of crafted sets that need a buff. But, that is a discussion for another thread.
Clockwork City introduced the Fortified Brass crafted set ... where now you can get those physical and spell resistance increases as a permanent buff. In addition, you now have to wear at least 5 pieces of an armor weight to even activate one of the armor skill abilities (to apply the Armor Master buff). And after that, per the tooltip, the 5-pc buff is only 10 seconds.
So, you can clearly see why it’s a lesser set these days.
Other options?
There are a lot of tanking resources online, so check it out. Tanks usually like to have a tanking set coupled with a set that provides group buffs (e.g. Ebon Armory) and/or something that provides ultimate acceleration (e.g. Bloodspawn) for Warhorn or other ultimate.1 -

✭✭Armor master was an alright set to learn how to tank on. But not for a DK though. Probably not for a warden either. Tourgs Pact is good. Fortified brass will be better to learn how to tank on now.
Brass is also becoming super useful in PvP.0 -

I did the math on armor master's health bonus, and if I had 30k health it would only grant another 1500 or so, that's basically nothing.
So now I'm back to having to use crap-looking dropped sets. Thanks ZOS.0 -

Not sure why you posted a thread if you already knew the answer that applied to your specific tanking build.
Fortified Brass is craftable by the way.

I posted the thread before I went to bed. I did the math on the health bonus after I got up in the afternoon. It indeed slipped my mind that fortified brass was craftable.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Probably not for heavy armor tanking, particularly since you'll be close to cap even without it.
Like fortified brass, the main use case will be for tanky medium and light setups for things like PvP or special situations. If you cast your armor ability regularly (e.g., tanky medium armor PvP stamina build keeping shuffle up at all times), armor master would be better than brass.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU
