    Hmmmm...

    Well ZOS hates 1vX players and seems to want number of players per side to determine outcome rather than skill or build strategy... so with that in mind...

    1h sword/mace: increases dmg of bash by 100 and increases duration of effects (like defile and stun) by 20%

    2h: your execute threshold now begins scaling at 10% more HP

    1h axe / daggers: bleed damage is increased by 10% per weapon worn

    Destro staff: your elemental drain now procs a minor defile

    Resto staff: healing a player with healing ward (other than yourself) will now increase their weapon damage by 150,

    All designed to help kill 1vX ;)

    Flawed at the most fundamental level? That's a bit much. Guilds are fine, animation canceling, they already said they weren't fixing it. Far from fundamental though.

    I am very happy with the direction it takes but I wait to see the implementation before actually popping the champagne.

    ZOS had history of ruining great ideas with questionable implementation.

    Master Weapons buff the effects/strength of weapon skills.

    Maelstrom Weapons buff the effects/strength of weapon skills.

    These new weapons will consist of an ability-altering effect in the same way but for different weapon skills (one for each skill line).

    What will be interesting here is which ability will they alter?

    Previously with DSA master weapons it was the first ability in every skill line, then VMA altered the 2nd, but then they changed the order of the skills. Will the new weapons alter what used to be the third, or will it be random?

    Correct me if I am wrong (its been a while), but 3rd on 2h was Upper cut, 1h and Shield is still defensive posture, dual wield is still whirlwind, bow is still scatter shot, Destro is Force Shock, and restoration is still Blessing of Protection.

    My totally unfounded opinions:

    - Unless they fix scatter shot to be a little better in some way the bow will either suck or only be good for a niche PvP build.

    - 1h and Shield might be ok, but it will have to be really good to get tanks to break up a 5 + 5 + 2 (and it will most likely not).

    - 2H could actually make running a 2H viable in end game if done right.

    - Resto could be good and actually used if the effect is (and most likely will be) better than having 1 monster piece.

    - Force Shock on "destro" staves will actually be kind of a shame now since most builds are heavy attack now and less people are using the skill.

    - Dual wield is also buffing a skill that is much less used now since Morrowind... but it is still used some, so hard to tell. Like 1h and Shield it will have to be good enough to break up a 5+5+2.

    ZoS has a habit of surprising us with what we least expect, so I am kind of excited and fearful at the same time to see what these weapons will do.
