Why doesn't the Forum have a section dedicated to lore?

Wolf_Manish
Hi I'm still pretty new.. and the only reason I joined the forum was to talk lore with people. Lore is a huge part of the game, really in my opinion is the heart of the franchise. I know I'm not the first person to complain about this, and I know I'm not going to be the last (unless a change is made). Ive never played WoW but from what I've heard people adored discussing the lore and politics of the game on the forums. I think this is a great idea, and I personally think that the creators of all the lore would actually appreciate it getting some more attention. I don't want to have to go elsweyr on the internet to discuss it- and frankly, I doubt that is what the game makers want to. It amazes me that the game has been out this long, and the lore seems to be... almost ignored by format of this site. I also feel that boring a Lore Forum would also bring a much larger and happier audience to this forum instead of some sods who just want to complain about the latest update (which is very important- we all know there are parts of the game *cough cough* dungeon group finder *cough* that could use some work; but do we all need that one guy who just created an account to come swear at someone over a known problem the forum has already covered?)
I don't know what the problem is- whether it be a lack of staff to manage it or what, I would appreciate a response.
If I am unsadisfied with the reason, I think I may try to either start a poll or thread over it in general discussion- just to help give you guys a boost to get you to help us out.
Much appreciated

A great idea. TES is so lore rich I think many would enjoy it.

This is a fantastic idea. I don't know why I didn't think of it prior.

Well, lore content is mostly in Fiction & Roleplaying section.

I may be remembering this completely wrong but I think way back in the early days there was a lore section but it wasn't very active, so now topics about the lore are included in General Discussion.

But the fact that there isn't a dedicated section for it doesn't mean you can't post about it. Just put the topic in whichever section you think it's most relevant to. For example if you want to post a story you've made up about your character that could go in Fiction & Roleplaying, if you want to talk about the lore behing the Alliance War you post it in that section and so on. If what you want to say doesn't seem to fit anywhere else it goes in General Discussion.

....I could've SWORN there was a sub forum for that very reason, cause a long time ago I made a thread wanting to discuss the actual reality behind Oblivion, Aetherius, and the universe of Elder Scrolls. I need to go find that thing.

    Here it is: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/313208/lets-hypothesize-the-reality-behind-nirn-and-the-mundus

But I swear I don't remember posting it in General Discussion. Weird, maybe there used to be a Lore subforum for ZOS closed it, maybe cause it was barely used?

Okay nevermind, that was my original Lore discussion post and it appears I made it in the Quests and Exploration category. :/

"ESO Lore has been permanent moved to the Market Department. Lore can be altered by them at any time, to fit the next content coming out."

No point in hashing anything out as players.

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

Not to me it isn't. I couldn't care less about lore in mmorpgs - it's just a made-up backstory and I've no interest in them.

So you don't pay attention to the story or anything at all then? That fits in as lore. The information and books about pretty much everything in the TES games is built up and supported by the lore.

Then why play lore rich games at all? What's the point? You could just go play MOBAs without the need for all the story or questing.

MMORPGS are basically "kill everything in sight" games anyway. Tacking on a pretty bit of fiction onto it doesn't change that. I've played so many MMORPGS in the last 18 to 20 years the backstories are just so much verbiage now. They're all basically about someone with too many consonants in their name unleashing their godlike magical powers to create dread, ruin and devastation, yadda yadda. Our heroic role is to kill X, gather Y, rescue Z... same old same old. It's only entertaining for the first couple of MMORPGS you play, if that.
