If you want good pvp. Stay on WoW.
Don't be abused by all of those "great master pvp" who make vids arounds there. Is just totally about gear who do everything for you and Addon / Macro.
I enjoy not having cool downs and macros. Using block, dodge roll, bash, etc make for a more engaging experience, too.

Which is no different to many "action" MMOs in most respects, in this thread he is asking specifically about GW2 vs ESO, GW2 also has block, dodge, no macros, etc...
But GW2 has cool downs.
And I gave him a perspective of Oceanic time zone without lag, which may not matter to him, but was different than any other poster. Is that okay with you?
Try and make this short and sweet without the rant.
GW2 isn't really PvP. It's coordinated Pvdoors. It's like doing the dolmens circuit. You take a keep and leave, opposing faction takes back the keep while you are taking back the keep you just took. Rinse/repeat. In fact, if you really want to stir things up? With a couple of friends, stay at the keep your faction just captured. Each build an arrow cart. When the enemy comes, start blasting away.

All MMOs go the way of Passive/Gear/Elite Specs power creep in order to make easy sales via Expansions and DLCs. As I tell other gamers if you are only looking for PvP, the current MMO genre should be the last place you should look at. However MMOs at least the ones worth their weight and name in gold have really good and satisfying PvE.
For me ESO is the best PvE multi player game on the market. For my PvP like many other actually PvPers we have evacuated our PvP playtime to dedicated PvP games. PvP games that make money off of high octine PvP action and not off of DLCs or Expansions that are PvE focused and make PvP completely unbalanced by design. But then again I'm a being who has the focus to be able to play 2 to 3 games at a time period. My game loyality is just as much as the loyalty of the company who's game I'm playing. So I can spend thousands of dollars and put thousands of hours and still be able to drop said game.
The time where MMOs had decent PvP are long gone. Like others have said if you are trying to play MMOs in general in todays time just for PvP, then you are just inviting much headache and heartache to your selves.
As I've said many times before.... ESO is love, ESO is fun, ESO is not decent PvP nor will ever be.
Best pvp game I ever played was age of Conan. Open world pvp, sieges, minimaps, great graphics, brutal bloody combat and no lag! Too bad funcom quickly abandoned it in favor of secret world and the equivalent to ce ran rampid and killed it. Combat wise, eso is a close second.
Ugh if only we could have a time-locked version of Age of Conan from the ~1.6 era... I'd never play another game. Really hate it how they killed that game with the game breaking bugs/exploits early on. Was released too early.
ESO is way better hands down.
I played GW2 for 3 years and I stopped playing a year ago and havent been back.
Ive been playing ESO for 3 years and Im still here.

Agree, I've played GW2 for about 3 years myself. However the current state of GW2's WvW and PvP are is a laughable at best state.
GW2 PvP - ANet creates artificial pros by Stacking 2 ESL duos and a Legendary player team against a team of random 5 gold league or lower. ANet's Match Maker System barely ever have the ESL players facing each other, in order to artificially buff their stats. In response for such hubris ANet's PvP scene continues to low which little population it has. At the moment only the ESL players that are getting paid to PvP and the PvEers that ANet had to bribe to farm PvP match for high tier PvE gear.
GW2 WvW is in a worst state then PvP in that game. GW2's WvW has devolved into a game mode that promotes players to PAY REAL MONEY to server stack another server each time ANet re-links servers. Also it promotes players running away from fights and avoiding any type of PvP just to Player vs Door and Karma Train the whole map. It's so bad and unbalanced that outside of the 4 to 5 hours of NA prime in Tier 2 WvW is basically completely dead. You can run around for 2 hours and only find a half of a decent fight because the other player didn't see you coming.
For anything related to PvP atm I'll have to say, bother with that *** fest at your own risk. You think ESO PvP is bad, lol. At least we have PvP action in ESO.
Oh this is coming from a player who's been playing both game quit GW2 a few months ago for about 3 years each, and had a 20,000 gold account so I was very invested at that game at one point when it was good.
I think pvp in ESO has enormous potential... but one day I hope lag is fixed still waiting!
...
However I find WvW better than AvA for the following:
...
2. servers lagging less
