No storage crates in the housing??? You can not be serious ZOS!!!!

Housing should come with storage like an mmo should come with text chat. Took ZoS a long time to figure that out (talking from console pov), so hope it doesnt take them as long to implement storage.

We want it all now! Or initial outlay on the game means we have every right to make constant demands and throw our toys out if we so wish. Or maybe not as the case may be. First world problems and all that malarkey.

well, stages, yes of course, but storage is a main thing, that should be No.1 priority to add right at launch

They could implement a housing/furniture TAB with a number of items cap, similar to questing items TAB.

    Problem solved.

Considering they said there will be over 2,000 furniture and decoration items, I think it would be daft for them not to take the storage of that into account. In Skyrim's Hearthfire, I think furnishings were stored in a separate section that was only accessible during construction. Maybe these items in Homestead will be added straight into the Housing Editor and won't appear in the inventory. (Although that would need to be modified for selling furniture to other players.)

I see at least a dozen chests and barrels at that house. I guess they're just there for "immersion", since none of them will work. And doesn't everybody carry around a chest? Even if it doesn't work??

    Sheesh.

I still think the reason storage in housing (which all MMO's have done for over a decade) didn't make the cut is because ZoS hasn't figured out how to charge for it yet.

Why should it be that hard to charge for it? Just pay with crowns/gold for a basement/cellar/creepy-guy-in-the-corner to hold your excess junk and pay more for larger basement space/cellar space/more pockets on creepy guy. I'm getting kind of annoyed carrying around my PvP gear and my thieves guild stealthiness gear everywhere since my bank space has been maxed out to hold all my crafting mats.

Have to always watch out that I don't accidentally sell it and it does get irksome.

I believe that features like storage (that can be monetized) but are highly desired by the community SHOULD be given to the community for free.

ZOS has been milking us at every corner and has been losing the community's trust.

there not going to give anything for free now !! crown crates proved that there main goal is to suck money out of everyone till the game dies.. they will give you some housing for in game gold etc...But i bet there will be huge amounts locked behind a pay wall ...wait and see

Considering you can already buy the houses with Crowns or gold, and the furniture with Crowns or gold, I don't think monetising it would be an issue. I think it's more down to the systems that would need to be developed for storage to work, something that they didn't have time to do because they were working on the housing editor systems instead.

If Ark Survival can give you essentially unlimited amount of inventory space, with out any sub fee at all, I think Zeni could definitely add a few more storage bins. Just saying. Don't listen to the bs. It's a house, what do you all do with your real homes? Just live there? Or do you store all your stuff that is yours there?

I would at least expect somewhere to store armour and weapons for sub holders. What's the point of a home if you can't lay your hat down? What would be awesome is a crate that we could store gear into that omits them from the deconstruction list without having to lock them. This way it's separate from the bank and can be researched straight from it at any crafting station.

Honestly, I get the reasons why storage is not allowed, and I can live with it.

However, one way of storage would be nice. If only one of these gets added:
    • Crates and barrels, which can only hold a limited amount of small items (provisioning/alchemy/enchanting/fishing stuff)
    • Weapon racks and armor stands; limited amount to place, of course, and with options to switch to that gear, once you're home, along with the weapons you've set and skills. Would be nice to come home after a night in Cyrodiil, and then switch to your OP PvE set and skills.

That's my opinion, anyways, but just a house that I can fully decorate myself is good enough for me.

I bought the Gold Edition with all the DLC and a mount a couple of days ago for my Xbox and that cost about €30 and on top of that I had to get an Xbox Live sub for 12 months for €40 in order to play the game and I just can't bring myself to also pay for ESO Plus just for the crafting bag. I really hope the new housing system gives us some additional storage too!

Yup, it's a perfect opportunity to reward loyal sub holders and attract more of the same. Although I quite the fact that some of my friends don't have sub because they send their surplus crafting mats to me :)

I already have a crafting bag which stores an pretty much an unlimited amount of this stuff. Why would I need another means? More (general) storage would be nice. If they could figure out the crafting bag...why can't they figure out an unlimited "bank" storage? While I get that there may only be a certain number of crafting materials (i.e., raw, finished, style, ingredients, etc.) they do add new style items which are stored in the craft bag (i.e., style materials). So...they have the ability to make a larger "bank" which could add an unlimited number of items...

Storage in the houses (Bought for gold) would detract a little from the desirability of craft bags via ESO+ to help with the storage issues.

ZOS needs predictable regular revenue and craft bags are the big draw for ESO + right now... as such I'd be surprised if they did anything to make those less needed/desirable, especially for in game gold, as this will impact the regular revenue stream which is what they need most to carry on.

Not saying I agree with it.... but this would be a big reason when looking at it from a business perspective.

Well I would agree. But games with half the budget. Far smaller player bases far less profit margins and half the game sales.
Launched with housing, had fully layered furniture crafting ,weapon mounting ,trophy mounting and storage

Had 2x the classes, fully layered AA systems with actives and specialized trees, 3 full expansions with level cap increases . Had 10 plus raids full blown epic questlines for class specific weapons. More dungeons more solo content .

All of this at 3 years post launch. This is not just buisness. This is full blown corporate greed. Bilk the player base till it dries up . This is not a buisness model based on longevity. This is a cheap content to make and bill far more then it's worth then pay wall it behind a sub then make the shiny aspects put in crates. Truthfully this aspect of gambling crates should be regulated just like any other gambling in the U.S. it's predatory epically when so many of the players are not even adults .

A house needs FUNCTION not just form or my millions of gold AND thousands of crowns aren't getting spent.. period!
ZOS, I really, really want that "Malabu Tor" villa on the beach. I just need to see some value and pretty is not enough. There's got to be a creative way to balance business and content.
Bottom line: I finally gave in and bought eso+ on 3-month basis (renewal in March 2017). I am totally hooked on craft bags! If you want my $$.$$ in March, you'll make my house USEFUL!
