Soulshine set does not buff the Puncturing Sweep ablility

As the title states, the 5 Piece set bonus of Soulshine is not buffing the Puncturing Sweep ability. As you can plainly see, Puncturing Sweep meets all the requirements for the 5PC bonus of Soulshine to buff it.

At first glance, I thought this to be a UI error with the ablility tooltip. So I tested the dmg myself.

Here is the ability dmg with 4 Pieces of Soulshine equipped in a controlled manner. (no extra buffs, etc.)

You can plainly see that the overall dmg is only increased by about 150 dmg. Surely that minuscule amount can be attributed to the maximum magicka enchant on the 5th armor piece, and not 440 extra spell damage. Thank you for your time in viewing this. Actually, as Leandor said, you need to provide a constant Magicka pool so simply swapping a piece of Soulshine out for another with the same glyph would work.

The picture that I posted didn't account for the +140% damage increase either and didn't prove anything since I didn't know the Magicka difference.

Test again on a naked friend or an enemy with zero resistance (maybe Bull Netch?) and keep your character sheet stats the same.

The obvious answer is: change the magicka enchant to stamina or use another piece of heavy armor with a magicka enchant on it for tesring, then come back.

The "only 153 damage increase" is a whopping 5.8% damage increase, which is more than what you get from 5000 penetration. I absolutely disagree that this is insignificant.

In total you get 652 more damage non crit on a single ability use.

I am very sure this is not from a couple hundred additional magicka. So you have yourself given evidence that you are wrong.

Adding 100 Spell Damage does not increase the damage of your spells by 100.

The damage your ability does is roughly equal to (max mag + 10 * spell dmg) * scaling. The scaling is a constant that changes from ability to ability (some abilities hit harder than others). (This is a bit simplified, but captures the essence of the point.)

Anyway, it looks like it's working as intended.
