Maintenance on a weekend?

Hey guys! Thanks for hanging in there during this morning's maintenance. We're beginning to wrap up PC and PS4, but Xbox maintenance is still ongoing. We'll let you know when we're getting close to opening some of the servers.

No one is "happy" about it.

But at least some what of an update. Do we get final patch notes about why this had to happen on a saturday prime time night I think all Oceanic players are really waiting to see how "urgent" this one was.

Keep in mind that every time ZOS screws up and people complain an order of smiling polite sheep pop up to inform the rest of us that our frustration is unreasonable and that ZOS is working hard for our entertainment. When ZOS added extra traits in vMA that make no sense they did it for us! When ZOS has huge maintenances that change nothing in the actual game they do it for us!!!!!! When they reduce the droprate on items like red mountain dagger to 0.00001% they do it so that you can smile and be happy labouring to farm it!!!! Do not forget that the lagspikes and gamecrushes in every dung/trial/pvp zone are not ZOS fault because ZOS loves you and works for you!!!!!

So lets stop complaining and start a post about how much we love ZOS!!!!

Tbh i dont think a patch would exploit your weekend
but a maelstrom run for charged weapon will exploit your weekend

Too many things are so very wrong

From the maintenance, to the customer support, to the general bugs, the blue screens, the lag it's almost endless.

This is consistent with their other decisions that impact the customer. Skipping maintenance on Monday was a business decision to save money thinking they could skip a week. Remember the number one controllable expense is payroll. They should have maintenance scheduled for three to four weeks in a row after a major patch.

Bringing the servers down on Saturday means they had a serious problem that was impacting their bottom line. As we all know they hardly ever bring the servers down for bugs and exploits.

Just remember these things.....ZOS is run by lawyers and bankers, not gamers or game developers....the center piece of their portfolio is the crown store....and it only takes a few mediocre players spending their money in the crown store to make up for your subscription.

Seriously, maybe not the proper topic to bring this up, but Overland set weapons need some desperate change.

Patch notes are up, and I don't see ANYTHING in there that justifies the downtime at all. Maybe add the "hotfix" to the patch notes? It looks like the notes prepared for the regular monday patch, and someone just forgot to add the one fix that caused all this uproar?

A little more respect for the customers, please.

There ARE other games around, and people at ZOS should realize that we the players have choices. You at ZOS don't. Your jobs and income depends on the game. Make this game great again or people will leave.

Can you not at least tell us what the hotfix is? If it's serious and you're fixing an exploit, people may be a little less angry about this occurring on a weekend.

Very upset, cause i m on Eu server and this maintenance felt the only free week end for me, others i worked or will work...
I understand the hotfix, not the patch... I m a subscriber and i cant play a half day, what i win for that...

Looking at Patch Notes now. First thing I see is a new Item to farm.

Just when you thought there were enought Bots already in the game.. the door gets opened for even more of them

I'm Oceanic, so it's been down from 5pm and still ongoing (9.50pm as I write) - prime gaming time for me, ZOS, you suck, plain and simple.

Wouldn't be so bad if you fixed some of the stuff that we need you to fix, but you won't.

My guess would be Crown gamble crates are very close to launching. they had in them a xp boost greater then what was in the game currently and people complained about them on the test realm. They said they would look at it and fix it before gamble crates launched. And here we are.

So gamble crates next week. or very close would be my guess.

You infringe on your customer base far less by doing so. Remember, you ran the numbers when picking the maintenance times. We now have not only had the start of our weekend impacted, but we will have to deal with any potential problems for the rest of the weekend where as normally this would only impact our Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

They have a strange definition of hot fix. even when they say the game is just going down for a hot fix, it takes hours.

Omg, I remember this now.

They introduced this new item into the game to cool down players raging about how p2w the crown crates were due to the xp being more than what you could obtain by playing in game.

100% crown crates are soon and you might be right to say even in the next upcoming weeks.

Just before christmas eh...

I have read through the patch notes and I got to ask... what was so darn important that you had to take the servers down on a Saturday (10am to 3pm +) for? A little detailed explanation might go a long way to soothing the pain most of us are feeling right now do to losing prime gaming time!!

Understand your frustration for sure; we try to avoid having maintenance on the weekend at all costs. We were already prepping the PC build for Monday's maintenance, but due to how patches are prepared, we needed to publish 2.6.9 during today's downtime. It's a complicated process, but the good thing is we won't need downtime for maintenance on Monday at least.

Does anyone actually know what was so critical it needed hotfixes at prime time? I mean, that's got to hurt ZOS also, people not in game on a Saturday means less Store revenue for sure.
