This is Getting Ridiculous - Rapid Regeneration and Mutagen

It just took me NINE casts of Rapid Regeneration to get it to land on our group's tank. The first eight casts repeatedly went to the same two DPS players in our four-person group.

Please ZOS, just revert Rapid Regeneration and Mutagen to the way they were before this random targeting mechanic was implemented and made this skill so inconsistent.

agreed.... i've been using my sorc to heal for pledges lately and i can hardly hit the lowest health player with mutagen... it just seems to spam it to the same players over and over.

I second that motion. I remember the day they broke it, I almost quit healing on my NB. I've had times where it wouldn't target a certain group member for half a dungeon or more. That plus the Funnel nerf really makes NB healing aggravating sometimes. I used to keep groups up with those two HoT's alone.

Agreed, it's tougher these days to heal as a Nightblade. Also the only access Nightblades have to Major Mending is via Restoration Staff heavy attacks. All the more reason we need Rapid Regen and Mutagen to work well.

You're right. It has been ignored since the change and I don't ever recall reading about the change in patch notes anywhere.

Also rapid regen is not recalculating heal strength from weapons that you swap too. So if you switch from a resto to a nirn weapon your Rapid Regen will not take the added spell damage into effect. That is kind of a big deal as nirn weapons are supposedly balanced against sharpened due to the fact that nirn also increase healing.

I think I hit my limit with this spell last night. I don't know how many times I spammed it while standing right next to the tank but I can tell you it was more than nine. Those were some healthy DPS in my group though.

You get an extra 5% healing for resto staff skills with a resto staff equipped from the passives. This is more then the extra nirn spell damage, even from duel swords, as that is only around 3%.

Well, I wouldn't say it's tough really. I still think NB is the easiest healer class to play just because you can spam all day and not worry about resources. Even with the nerf and broken skill we're still very effective healers.

    Yup it's very bad.

After banished cells yesterday one of the dps still had the dot on him from the boss fight so I stood next to him and spammed rapid regen from when he was 100% to maybe 5% then I BoL to save him--> back to 100% then back to 5% then BoL. Repeat. Repeat maybe 4-5 times before my rapid regen finally hits him. I couldn't even believe it.

I have a precise Maelstrom restoration staff so I don't have the option of not slotting rapid regen, and no, I won't use a different resto staff. I'd much rather the issue just be addressed as it's affecting the majority of healers in the game.

It's not that, I expect it to go down, but I don't expect it to ignore the weapon in hand. Basically Rapid Regen doesn't care if I switch to a nirn sword or a sharpened sword. Nirn or sharpened yield the same heal tick even though Nirn should give a higher tick.

I don't think it was an intentional change with a patch note attached, just a bug that makes it pick targets as reliably as a drunken uncle.

devs rarely read the forum without a in game bug ticket this is unlikely to get an address. Only when mods send them stuff or flag it does a dev look at it. Ppl tag Gina and Jessica and that's great but they are not devs.

Just tested again. It doesn't care if it's nirn sword or a sharpened sword, the heal ticks for the same. This is very easy to self test so I'm not going to take the time to make a video of it.

Okay having a chance to do this my self, you are right. 2 different casts of mutagen, same result aftet switching. Something is wrong with this.

Extended ritual is working correctly. Get a small bost from the nirn weapon.

This needs to be looked at. It is not a huge difference but there is a difference nonetheless.

as @wayfarerx said, the skill used to be a smart heal before DB patch, which means it used to heal allies who lost HP first. And it was also affecting other allies who didn't have the buff more reliably.
