Yes, frequently

I like it for the fact that a lot of folks will try to run when you get them into execute range.

And Impale has a range of its own.

It's fun when a bad sorc is in execute range and uses streak to get away (instead of shields) but dies by the end of his first teleport by impale.

Tough I don't slot it unless I'm on a ranged destro/resto build with swallow soul/AW.

Impale is so bad it's so clunky and slow in PvP, also if they are at 25% health they'll die if you hit them with a concealed weapon. Impale is ok in pve though

Impale is only good for boss fights in PvE. In PvP, as it's been said, it's too situational. Doesn't RD work at 40% health? Why does that execute work at 40% health, but impale only works at 25%?

And with that, did this just become a nerf RD thread or a buff impale thread?

If your a stamina build, you will slot executioner instead of killers blade, why? because you can't weave(Use light attacks in the middle of an ability) when using killers blade, and the enemy can regain their health very fast in cyrodiil.
The same problem is there with imaple.

So, just spamming this ability(imaple) is useless but its good for inexperienced players that don't know how to burst heal.

Very, very rarely. It's reflectable, dodgeable, and begins working at a very low health percentage in comparison other executes. Pretty much any other skill would be more useful, Impale is a waste of bar space in PVP.

I don't play NB much in Cyrodiil because it's my worst PvP class (yeah, yeah, insert laughter here), and yet my experience is also that Impale doesn't work too well there. If a bunch of people in a blob just got nailed by siege and a couple ultis and are all freaking out at really low health scattering in different directions, it can be fun to Impale, Impale, Impale, but, it still seems like you'd usually be better off just hitting another Lotus Fan or Concealed Weapon or Swallow Soul or whatever.

Just seems funny to me that the stealthy assassin class has an execute people generally don't like to use in PvP.

Other than replacing it with Jesus Beam, *eyeroll*, what do you think would make it slottable for PvP? Or should it just be kept as a nice little DPS finisher for PvE?

I think you have to increase the health percentage for when it's effective or add a passive bonus of some kind. If it became useful at 40% like Jesus Beam, I would slot it.

I think you have to increase the health percentage for when it's effective or add a passive bonus of some kind. If it became useful at 40% like Jesus Beam, I would slot it.

It would still be blockable/dodgeable, but having it start to scale up at 35-40% would make it more useful. Or a slot bonus.

Havent been slotting it recently as it seems every stamina class is going to dodge it anyway. Love it on the IC rover bosses though.

Buffing it up to 35-40% is a stupid idea, an execute is mean't to kill at lowish hp, 40% isn't low.

Jesus beam is an exception and needs looking at.

You either slot it or you don't, if you have enough dmg in your rotation with enough burst to kill an enemy fine, if you don't and they survive with low hp, slot impale.

I don't think a buff to 35-40% range is absolutely necessary, but it's something I've heard suggested before it was mentioned in this thread. Reverse Slash starts scaling at 50%, but it really works best in a true execute range. I was guessing that was the idea in mind for raising the range for Impale, and why the combat team hasn't nerfed RD. In any case I will mark you down for "leave as is"

If anything, magic NB should get Jesus Beam and magic Templar should get Impale. Magic NB has low survivability and (used to) have high damagee, magic Templar has very, very high survivability, lots of group synergies (Purify+Breath of Life+stamina return from Shards), and good range with Dark Flare. It seems more fitting that the squishy assassin class gets access to the best execute in the game while the tanky, group-oriented healer gets a weaker execute.

Both versions of assasin's blade are kind of useless.

Killer's blade is a melee execute that works at 25% dmg. If you dw that's crap if you compare it to flying blade. If you 2H, it's crap if you compare it to reverse slice. If you use bow, it's crap compared to poison inject execute.

Impale has a better range, but is too situational. Sap esence puts 5 K constantly in a decent build (or even more), force pulse puts similar numbers and both are spammable skils.

The only benefit is in PVE, boss fights, where you can put near to 20K per attack...
