its moved the sorc away from no skill to skill again. No longer will you have pug sorcs being better then you just on class design. Hopefully they move all classes to more skill and less class mechanic winning designs.

Us OG's that played sorc long before the 1.6 reroll craze have watched our class get ridiculed and attacked for months because of the terribad fotm rerolls using cheese templates.
The men will be separated from the boys now, and good riddance if you ask me. The good sorcs will stay, the bads will go away. And those of us that stay, wont really change to our opponents, we will be as strong as we ever were.

Not at all. I'm saying having to refresh shields every 6 seconds to survive does not make it spammy. Spam does not equal reapplying a buff every 6 seconds. It is inherently not spamming.
In my opinion, it won't change anything for PvE or PvP. The shield is just as large as it was before, and it can be cast just as quickly as before. Shield spam will still mitigate the same amount of damage.

I think what he means is that the whole fight becomes busier; after all, you could conceivably cast the shield 3x more if the shield isn't being torched quicker than 6 sec.

Increases the need for resource management if you cast it that much. Since resource management is currently a joke, no problems there.
Besides, in a fight against a sorc you have to keep up the pressure and any competent dps is bring down those shields quicker than 6 seconds which means that it never gets to 6 seconds. Most specs are refreshing within 5 seconds or less.
To everyone saying sorcs have been nerfed to the ground, go actually try out these changes instead of looking at things on paper and coming to the forums with all your "RIP"s. Even in live shields do not last 6 seconds if you're fighting. If anything, sorcs are stronger now that Harness Magicka fends against physical damage.
Also, this is coming from somebody who plays sorcerer.

Not really - atleast for most sorcs. Their main dmg ultimate was changed to physical. The only possibility to not play destro staff was taken away.
Also now every player they meet will run with dampen magica which is a stronger version of their own class shield (so now we have the same defensive shield as everyone + heavily nerfed streak while every other class still has some pretty strong def).
The changes only have the effect that i have to put hardened on mainbar. But everything else getting changed just passively nerfs the class for most builds.
If returned to glory for you means returned to negatebot then idk what to say. That was the worst period of sorcplay i can think of.
Edit: And the worst part being that nerf to duration of shields only changes the survivability when in ganked. Every moron with a bow is salivating already.

I am sure this is PVP-driven. Sorc shields are also used in PVE, you know, and this hits my PVE experience pretty hard.

If anything sorcs now have 3 shields against physical damage.

the main benefit is not nerfed at all, your shield will never last more than 8 seconds in combat... now you have 3 shields... why are you even complaining. And yet now sorcs will be the only class needing to do so, Templar's BoL, DKs insane inanate damage reduction and immunity, NBs, stealth which I've still to this day not seen Cloak get the same treatment as Sorcs Bolt Escape, which is not a escape unless the player the sorc is escaping from has a L2P problem. I'm fine with them taking away sorcs shields if they give sorcs more burst or another way to play competitive with the rest of the big boys more so looking at you Mageblades, Stam DKs and Stamblades in the DB DLC.
But as another mentioned sorcs will and always have adapted to all of the sorcs nerfs in the past so why not now. Tho if the nerf is truly too much which is what I'm trying to figure out now on the PTS as I type this, well you can expect to see very few sorcs and the future and possible many players that only have a sorcerer on their account to look elsewhere for their mage-like entertainment.
Damn, I'm soo glad I've got a Mageplar, and a Mageblade also into the veteran ranks! at least for me no change for me this time around. Just will possible be forced to learn how to play one of those class. Oh well such is the nature of the beast.
