Let's talk about gap close spamming.

    Gap Closers are a necessity for Stamina Melee builds to keep pressure on their enemy or to get closer to Bow/Magicka Users. But I believe the root before the Gap Closer connects should be gotten rid to make the skill more dodgeable.

    In the case of Ambush, which is instant, how about applying the Major Empower buff only if the skill is used from stealth? That way the skill could be used as a normal Gap Closer in regular combat without taking away a StamBlade's melee options or gank abilities.

    actually gap closers are to efficent currently as you have no option at all to stay ranged as a ranged build (not even sorcs).

    Yup. This is why every time I use a detect potion on a NB, 90% of the time I usually win the fight with the good graces of having the 'Surprise!' advantage on my side. There is no real way to be able to manage the spacing between the two opponents. You technically can if you moved backwards or used some kind of CC move to put them in place, but the attacker has more options then the defender does once the attacker has momentum its usually an uphill battle for the guy defending--unless your a tank.

    This is one of the reasons I like Streak a lot. It's a skill that forces gaps between the opponents. People might complain about cloak having some big advantages, but hell, in terms of how far a skill like Streak pushes your character into a better position it is arguably a better skill to bring into a fight over Cloaking. Cloaking still requires 1. Not getting hit 2. Manually moving to the new location most of the time your using Stamina anyway while trying to cloak[a resource you should save for attacking/CC breaking..] Mastering how to cloak and escape is pretty challenging feat if the NB is on defensive mode.

    However! On the flip side, NB has excellent Melee damage options that make the Sorcerer blush in sheer envy. Because at the end of the day, the Sorc needs Streak for setting up his offensive game with Frags procs and Mines. These skills don't come out NEARLY as fast as Concealed/Surprise attack. and no Sorcerer in Cyordiil is going to Mages Fury/ Endless Fury at point blank range, every sorc knows it needs its companion skill Frags to make full use of it.

    Could someone please send me a list of "SKILLS" that I should be using on my bar? Also please specify the order in which I should execute them. I would hate to make anyone "angry".

    Some people are not meant for PvP. If a skill in this game is making someone press Alt+f4 then maybe you shouldn't be playing.

    I have been gap closed on, hammered on, basically flamed to death and squashed by zergs, not once have i pressed alt+f4 because someone hurt my feelings.

    On a side note:
    If you are not part of my alliance, my main goal is to kill you and take everything you have. I don't care if you are picking flowers, or dancing on a rock. I will sneak up and slice your throat. So be afraid because i will fear you.

    Is it fair that I am on my horse and 20+ people tear my heart out and eat it in front of me as i lay there watching?

    Nothing is fair in this game, L2P or go pick flowers.

    whoa, calm down there killer. I never said anything about hurt feelings. Poorly designed skills (of which there are a lot in this game) are frustrating.

    some of us are interested in making this a better game, not just finding an escape for our inner psycho

    Since when has melee ever been "nerfed"? It started out weak, but it's been continually buffed ever since. There's a reason you hear people complain about "Wrecking Blow spam" but never Crushing Shock spam.

    I don't always expect to win 1v2, but I expect to at least be allowed to fight back. The way gap closers work now, you're always doomed if more than one guy is attacking you, because you are perpetually stunned by the gap closers. You can't break free, so you can never even get a shot off. How is that fun or fair?

    melee has only been buffed, I do not recall one major or even minor nerf to melee. I'd say melee is actually superior to ranged play styles atm, especially with this new addition to gap closing. Now the victim is essentially stunned when hit by a gap closer, I am not even sure if shuffle stops it 100% of the time, as I recall even players using shuffle being affected by this ability. Even ludicrous damage shield stack spam will not help the player half the time, what is the point if one cant even turn around to fight back?

    Fyi gap closer aren't there to stop streak (or bolt escape) they are there to close the gab during battle, not necessarily catch a fleeing opponent. A fleeing opponent is suppose to die to an execute.

    I dunno where the whole "bolt escape shouldn't allow sorcs to escape"mentality came from.

    It came from common sense. Health of the game over 1 class being unkillable at that time. Not to mention it's more about if your going to run then run before the fight no when you're about to die just telephoto away forever. You can still escape now just now unreasonably.

    Agree. A lot of the time the problem is you are in a situation where you have to run because you are getting gap close spammed by 5+ people, but you can't because *** game mechanics don't let you use any skills or move.

    Of course, the first thing people think of is scenarios where you are horribly outgunned, but that isn't the case - you can be fighting in large crowds and suddenly have 10 people focus you. You may have the skill to outmaneuver your opponents, but because you can't move, cast, break free, or dodge roll, it doesn't matter.

    Except that the perspective that a class is unkillable is rooted in what class you play and how you play it. The notion that sorcs can teleport away forever isn't a problem if you (a) don't chase them until you run out of resources and (b) learn to not die to them when they aren't running. The whole class was predicated on mobility, and because players refuse to build to fight mobility, the quality of play as a sorc is continually being stunted by nerf calls.
