I for one appreciated and agreed with Brian's ESO live explanation of some of the things going on behind the scenes. These issues should have been considered from the design stage before adding them to begin with but no it appears they are very performance conscious and going forward as long as improvements are made (and we dont take steps backwards) I'll be satisfied.
Agreed. As much of a snip show as the last year has been, I do wholeheartedly appreciate the fact that they're moving in the right direction and also communicating more. It's too bad it took a couple of forum bans to get the point across.
Keep up the momentum ZOS, you're on the right track.
uhm
why is it zos wont fix pvp

It's because they can't, and wont. The PvP in this game HAD so much potential. HAD.
They'd rather give 1 million dollars to some random person in Burgerland than hire new people or spend that amount of money on things that will help improve the game, hardware, anything. That's how it is.

AKA
Please put a sock in it, other departments are working on it even though it's critical to the game-play in Cyrodiil.
I'd like a cross functional team solely dedicated to fixing the latency issues, but our budgets were cut so that we could offer $1,000,000 USD just for logging in.

Do I or Krotha know you?
Does anyone really know anyone anymore..? That's the real question.
THE REAL QUESTION IS!.... Spinach and kale salad with cherry tomatoes and grilled chicken OR roast lamb, mashed potatoes and fresh string beans for lunch?

I don't ever expect them to fix that, way too much going on in one spot. But that's players error, everything is easier in 30 man zergs so that's what they do.
I've been playing on Skeleton Key on the Xbox One North American server and yeah it's a slow campaign but it's fun. I RARELY see lag spikes, and my gameplay is so smooth that I can easily play with precision. Get a 10 to 15 man group going on these quieter servers and you can have a lot of fun with a lot less lag.
Overall spread the hell out, not just in Cyrodiil but the servers in general. It's dumb that we as players are letting entire factions run certain servers and then having to play on one server causing a damn lag fest because we all decided to populate that one.
Once again NOT Zos's fault, we're doing that to our damn selves.
(Yes large scale battles are fun, but we don't need to fill all 3 bars on every server to have large scale battles...)

Initially we had 100s of players in one area and NO lag.
So you are wrong about it being impossible.
If 100s of people were on screen using single target instead of AoE there would still be NO lag.
If AoE was capped at 1 target....there would still be NO lag.
ZOS have everything they need to end lag over night.
They just wont do it.
They would rather have 90 players and a 60 player AoE cap than 900 players and a 6 player AoE cap.
That's what the players demanded.

The players demanded no aoe caps, actually. And I think most players that did followed through and quit the game.

I think they are just more focused creating more content that will pay the bills and are unwilling to dedicate the resources to fixing something that wont change the bottom line. Unfortunately I think we are just going to accept poor performance as a feature.
I've basically stopped playing during prime time. As soon as the lag starts I log. I do miss the epic battles from the early days but that was so long ago the memories have begun to fade....

60 players... no caps....still hitting a crap load more players than before.
and yes the aoe falloff being lame is a gimme so you don't have to point that out.
