As Zos started his 1.6, i have had my Rothwardon Templar - Healer on VR14, before 1.6 the Race wasnt important.

Many Players choosed a Race before 1.6 that not maxed out the Class Attributes. They have done this because the Bonis wasnt so important before 1.6.

After 1.6, Stats like 10% on Magicka for an Example, can push the Magicka for my Templar ca 3k higher then before. In Addition, the Breton gives me 3% Spellcostreduction and ca 4k Spellresistence.

This isnt only important for Min/Maxer, it gives every Playerstyle a Bonus that really helps instead of a Race that dont fit for the Class.

So, every Day Zos wait to implement the Race Change into the Crownstore, is a Day which Player with the wrong Race have to wait to get more close to other Players, that have choosen the right Race.

Zos, you sell Mounts and Motifs etc, but this is a important Thing for the most Players, in Addition it will gives you a lot of $$. So, please hurry to implement this in the Crownstore, many other Games done this too. I dont want to wait till Orsinium arrives, i want it yet.

So Zos, you implented 1.6 and you change the Rules, now give the Players the Option to change their Races. We waited long enough, stop producing Mounts for a Month or so and give us the Race-Change. This is something what we really want.

So.... has the dev with the Argonian hate-on changed his/her heart?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...

I would enjoy this option as im on console, not played long and only have one character which is a v14. However my role has now changed from dps caster to tank, this has made my race choice become a personal issue. At this point as i love tanking in this mmo (was too easy in other) i would welcome the opportunity to race change to a nord but will have to wait with my breton till that day. Spent alot of time on him so would prefer not to re roll.

Tanking in ESO is easyer then other mmo but let see what happening with ps4 x1 update.

But I maintain the stance that allowing players to pay real cash for in game advantages, however slight (like 'better' racial passives for "staying competitive") is easily P2W if there is no in-game method for achieving the same result.

Absolutely, so then there should be in-game method to do that rather than no method at all. Just like they did with the XP pots. It's not our fault that they removed soft caps and now race means MUCH MUCH more than just looks. Either we should be able to choose racials or races shouldn't affect anything except for looks.

    .

That makes absolutely no sense, you and whoever agreed or marked this post as "awesome" should feel bad.
The only way to see if a certain combo is competitive is too level it all the way to the level cap, get undaunted ranks, get alliance ranks, level all the skill lines that you need, get enough skill points, master the rotation, get all the gear you need....
That's too much stuff to do to then just start over and do all same quests/grind again just because you made a mistake with the race. OR because ZOS decided to change the game rules by removing softcaps or changing racials. Non of that is a player's fault so he/she shouldn't suffer. IT's a game and we are paying to have fun. And play characters that we want to play, not be stuck with a race (or class...) that doesn't fit the playstyle we want to play now.

This is very slow. You removed softcaps a while ago. Some combos just make no sense now, like a breton stamina NB inspired by your cinematic trailers. Or an altmer stamina anything, or an orc-mage etc. It's not even funny anymore. Before you removed soft caps, races didn't matter much and a few % dps is not that much of a difference.
And then so much time passed and you changed everything? You know, I kinda love my character AND spend months online working on achievements and whatnot. But now if I want to change the playstyle - I will gimp myself. So I'm stuck as a breton NB who can't do anythign good. Go Stamina? will be much weaker than imperials, bosmer etc. Go magicka? Hahah what's their dps compared to other specs? Besides, what if I don't want to? GO tank? Right, when DKs/templars are much better and much more welcome in any trials group. And it's your fault ZOS, really. You shouldn't ignore me and other players in the same situation(pretty sure I'm not the only one).

I wouldn't mind spending $20 for this change to occur. DO YOU SEE THAT ZOS!? MONEY! Thats what this whole game is about isn't it? why not make some extra money?

Or another solution would be to let people who purchased the imperial edition to change their class to imperial like they can with their armor.

I really hope to see either of these come really soon

Tweaks? Tweaks won't fix it. I'm not sure you guys understand what is causing the imbalance. It's the resource boosts that some races get.

    I fully agree.
The removal of soft-caps (etc etc etc) has devastatingly changed the conditions of the game, so that passive bonuses as +20% magicka regeneration and especially +20% stamina regen, are heavily effecting the game, for example the "ability to block". People are able to max burst damage, as well as their defense, as well as their sustainability.

There is no point in "diversity" for ESO, if some classes can get that much more in stats. Take in the CP-system and everything get's disbalanced.
Stats that are crucial to the game, as spell power, weapon power, magicka regeneration, stamina regeneration NEED A SOFT CAP!

    NO !

It is a bit disappointing. Last time I've read about this topic in green it was going for racial balance. Not quite sure how small tweaks will allow that (guess will have to wait and see). But the main reason of not doing any racial changes before that - as said - was that you felt it was unfair to do so without giving the opportunity of a race change. So without the short-term possibility of race changes how this will be resolved?

HI Im a NB Dark Elf DPS Stamina base :S. You could imagine how difficult is to play for me. With the soft cap I was Ok but now I only dream about a Imperial/Redguard race change. For me is impossible to play "solo"

I understand that the race change is not easy your character aspect etc, but I sugest to swap your character with another one in your acount or create one to made the change.

If the rules change (soft caps, champion points ...) I think we should have a solution for a wrong race decision that wasent wrong at the star of the game.

They said at the middle of the june we will have the chance to race change, and now once again they are changing what they promised.
    Shame!

Where did you hear this at? All I heard was that they was going to make some tweaks to some of the races but will do a racial balance once they add a racial change option available. There was no time table on this.

It's called Chinese Whispers and is 90% of the reason Devs don't like to tell us things. They start off saying they'll think about it and once it goes through a few threads and posts it turns into "yes you can have it, we'll do it right away" in the eyes of those who want it, and when people don't get it right away they complain.

As much as i Don't mind the idea of a race change in crown store. You guys realize by choosing say a magicka based breton trying to do stamina role you can still be absolutely fine. its a 5% dps difference under the worst possible conditions. and likely closer to 2-3% average.
even if you managed to get 30k stamina as a redguard, and 3k weapon damage (more likely less stamina) you could still get 27k stamina as a breton and 3k weapon damge. The 3k stamina difference accounts for 5% more DPS and thats on a character with +10% to max stamina. most other races have more diminished passives.

and that's before you consider that you may not need to use tri-stat food because you dont need the extra magicka because of your passives and so use bi stat for an extra >1k stamina and health.
That aside, ZOS are strongly considering it and its on their list after they see how this newest update is working out. dont think you can ask for more than that.

Not really. Picking a race with a stamina bonus as stamina dps is not fricken' min/maxing, it's just common sense.

Min/maxing is for example comparing redguard to orc, as a stamina mele dps. Which one has better dps or burst considering what skills and rotation you're using, which one is the absolute top option to squeeze in some extra numbers. Comparing dunmer to altmer as DK dps, that's another example of min/max.

Not that I care much about race change personally, I like my choices. But fact that someone's race has 0 synergy with their preferred dps build, that has nothing to do with them wanting min/max.

Really, i cant understand that you let us wait for such a long Time. Many Players choose a Race which they like, because before the 1.6 there was a Soft/Hardcap. They couldnt know, that these Soft/Hardcap would drop in the Future.

But after the 1.6, with no Soft/Hardcap, it is a really great Advantage if you get some Bonus on your Main-Attributes. We wait Month for Month, thinking you work as fast as you can on this, because you should know how Important this is, but nothing. This is very Dissapointing and Frustrating.

And dont Forget PvP, or the PvE Optimizing. It isnt cool for the Challenge, if you know that others have 3k more on their Main-Attributes, for an Example. It isnt Gamebreaking but i want to have the Chance to Balance that out, that would be more fair. I can play without it, but it is a Disadvantage, thats for sure.

I think that many Players would use the Racechange Option, so it would give Zos a lot of Money, there is no Reason to wait for so Long.

Please understand, that every Day you let us wait, is a frustrating Day for People who wants to optimize their Build and have the same Options, like other Players.

You already lost my business. I want to play a magicka NB and my imperial racials just wont cut it. Whoever is making these decisions should be let go. The length of time in leveling a character doing exactly the same thing you did before makes doing this more then a chore. And there is virtually nothing detailing how important racials can be in this game unlike so many other mmo's.. (and some of those do offer race changes..though the impact is much smaller)

Why spend your $ "fixing" racials when you could just let the players have the option of picking what racials they want for $? That you are so slow to implement what should have been in the game from the beginning is frustrating. That you have meetings and still dont arrive at the correct conclusion is just silly.

Anyway I'm back playing swtor and not looking back. I tried my best to give my $ to you but you just refuse to take it. /bye

ps.. and this subject has been brought up numerous times. I've posted at least twice about it and I was far from the first. No good reason they have not implemented this.

    Hi Jessica
I appreciate the tweaks you made for some races, but the reason for the race change is about a bad race selection.

I have rase my character for long long time to get it to level 16 and he can't reach other characters with the correct race selected.
I have had a lot of fun in the game but in the end game I would like a step forward.

I will appreciate an answer not for waiting for something that is not going to happen. And make decision.

ZOS has talk about the possibility for a long time but nothing has happened

Hi! My main is a dunmer stamina nightblade. You could imagine how difficult it is to play for me. For me it is a lot of fun to play "solo"! I welcome the challenge, even though all my other characters seem to have it easier in most fights. I like dunmer, and have no intention of changing Leskanderas race, ever. What were you talking about again? ;)

Seriously, one can make most everything work in ESO. Maybe not to the point where you can match the min/maxxers in PvP, but well enough to get through all the story and PvE content. And playing an "suboptimal" combination can offer a bit of challenge, so... noone "has" to change their race.

That stated... the option should be there. There are lore-conform precedents in the game, the powers that be can make profit from adding the feature, and as long as they charge enough, people will not abuse it to the undue vexation of players who dislike the whole thing.

Me, I am not seeing the need for it for any of my characters (though if they ever added new races... I might...), but I am very keen on other character recustomization options to come to ESO... fix small details with my characters to make them "just right", stuff that looked different in chargen, or such.
