so at some point after the next major update that has yet to be confirmed it might be considered to maybe be in the crown store.

It is a bit disappointing. Last time I've read about this topic in green it was going for racial balance. Not quite sure how small tweaks will allow that (guess will have to wait and see). But the main reason of not doing any racial changes before that - as said - was that you felt it was unfair to do so without giving the opportunity of a race change. So without the short-term possibility of race changes how this will be resolved?

The way I see it I would happily spend an hours wages to change my race, it beats grinding for a month or more on a new character to get it where your old one is.

They said at the middle of the june we will have the chance to race change, and now once again they are changing what they promised.

Where did you hear this at? All I heard was that they was going to make some tweaks to some of the races but will do a racial balance once they add a racial change option available. There was no time table on this.

Last time I same someone from ZOS talking about this, he/she said that we would get a free race change if our character was created pre-ESO:TU transition. Is this still a thing, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ?

What?! Now it's "we may consider"? I thought race changes were coming. Are you kidding me? Tweaks? Tweaks won't fix it. I'm not sure you guys understand what is causing the imbalance. It's the resource boosts that some races get.

So, looks like a race change for existing characters is not coming any time soon. What about appearance and name changes? I'd really like to know if I should reroll or wait for these

I am all for a race change. Easy money from min/maxers and also cash from those who decided they like a different style of play.
I am the opposite to the OP, I am Redguard and was always a stamina guy even when we sucked, but I find I enjoy the utility magicka builds bring, so am a magicka based Templar and would like to change race.
I also love magicka Templar for PvP because I can eat stamina builds for breakfast.

It seems like the answer is usually to reroll as ZOS hasn't been great at keeping to a specific timetable. It also depends on whether you're willing to wait a year or would rather reroll.

It's also about fairness. Some races are really useless now, since they changed a lot of stuff.

Please make the Khajiit crit bonus a weapon AND spell crit bonus for those of us who are magicka melee nb or khajiit casters.

The problem with a race change in this game seems to me to be that you'd need a full cosmetic and skill change too because the skills are baked in. Unless your character look/style means nothing more to you than a set of numbers that would be problematic.

I'd dig a full character re-do (race, class, etc.) and keep all earned xp. Even for cash (I shouldn't have said that).

Sadly, I don't think we're going to see much of a difference. After watching ESO live, it's safe to assume that the robust passive for orcs, khajiit, and nords is getting "tweaked" and who knows what they'll do for the Argonians. We'll probably see a percentage increase or so for healing received. It's just too late in the development and I don't think they care to use their creativity to redesign any racials at this point. They're more focused on the Crown Store and releasing Imperial City.

Basically, if you're an Argonian, you're not going to be one for the passives or to break any records.

On a side note, I still don't get why they're designed to be tanks. They were always portrayed as being sneaky guerrilla warriors.

I see. Well then ZOS, why not give us both the "racial tweaks" and race change? Since your supposed balance pass seems to have unclear results as you've stated you will have to"reevaluate" ?

This is a hot button issue for a significant segment of the population, primarily those who chose Argonians. This isn't like a gear change where you can go off and farm some amount of time for new gear, or a change to a class skill, where you adjust by creatively generating a new meta. I have to start over from scratch.

Repairing the issue is really going to require providing race changes. The problem lies in the fact that competitive players tend to pick a race based on how the passives suit their play style. Even a huge tweak to a passive, if it does not buff that playstyle, still requires either a race respec or starting over. A race respec at least allows you a large selection from which to find passives synergistic to your playstyle. Starting over requires a year of repeated progression, and catching up to new progression. Both my primary characters are Argonians - decent alliance rank, maxed in every craft, almost completely finished with all research on one character, etc., etc.

Even if it were possible, I am simply not willing to do it.

I fully agree.
The removal of soft-caps (etc etc etc) has devastatingly changed the conditions of the game, so that passive bonuses as +20% magicka regeneration and especially +20% stamina regen, are heavily effecting the game, for example the "ability to block". People are able to max burst damage, as well as their defense, as well as their sustainability.

There is no point in "diversity" for ESO, if some classes can get that much more in stats. Take in the CP-system and everything get's disbalanced.
Stats that are crucial to the game, as spell power, weapon power, magicka regeneration, stamina regeneration NEED A SOFT CAP!

Changing your ENTIRE RACE? No, that is just silly. Make a new character.

Personally I hope race changes are never added at all, or if they are it is with severe limitations.

Races and their corresponding passives are only supposed to give minor 'umphs' to particular playstyles--not be the end all be all of builds. I don't want to encourage FOTM mentalities where race gets added onto the list of what to change every update.

That being said, if they do add race changes I would want the two following criteria met:

• There to be hard limit on how often race changes can occur. Like 2 a year.
• For the method of attaining said race change to be somewhat difficult and/or costly to acquire. Like a hard extended quest chain meant for lvl50+ characters with a high gold fee. And/or being offered in the crown shop for 40 to 60$.

These are obviously to discourage repeated changes.

surely if it wasn't such a chore to level up VR ranks....... people would just re-roll their "toons"? not that I'm for or against the idea, if it makes money and makes people happy no problem. I would enjoy this option as im on console, not played long and only have one character which is a v14. However my role has now changed from dps caster to tank, this has made my race choice become a personal issue. At this point as i love tanking in this mmo (was too easy in other) i would welcome the opportunity to race change to a nord but will have to wait with my breton till that day. Spent alot of time on him so would prefer not to re roll.
