I always laugh when things turn into the, "This is an MMO, not solo" argument when the REALITY IS... the overwhelming majority of players playing this game ARE Elder Scrolls series single-player gamers- and Bethesda is trying to bring even more of them into ESO by telling the world that work on Elder Scrolls VI has been 'delayed indefinitely' while they focus on Fallout 4; obviously this was their way of trying to get those holding out for ES VI to play ESO in the meantime and generate more revenue for the game as well.

CLEARLY the devs can tell by game data, how many players are playing solo content only/mostly, and how many are grouping. It doesn't take rocket science, or maybe it does, to realize that the majority of players playing ESO are those who prefer playing SOLO. Also, let's get this straight right here... MMO does not mean "group content only" it simply means a massive amount of people playing the same game at the same time.

And no one here is saying adding solo content is a bad thing. In fact, no one here is saying it will be a bad thing. What is being said here is that it's disappointing that they STILL haven't added a new trial or anything and they STILL refuse to scale trials/dsa.

So for the raid-loving player, yes, this is disappointing.

For someone that has been there done that with group play in other games I am glad they are doing something a little different this time around. Simply put I do not want to invest the time and effort that goes into forming a group. I am no longer interested in that content.

Over a year has passed since there happened to be any solo content added. Yet six vr levels were added. Even if I may have in the past enjoyed grouping to do things I have never ever wanted leveling to be a group experience EVER. I want to go at my own pace leave or stop when I want to. Most group experiences do not allow for such. Which to me makes it end up seeming more like a job then fun...but to each their own.

The argument: "Craglorn is there if you want group content" would be a valid one, if Craglorn raids provided end game gear and mats. As of right now they only drop V14 garbage. So there is zero incentive to do the trails or any content in Craglorn right now. And ZOS hasen't even given a hint that they are going to change that.

Indeed. Some people seem to be of the mind that MMOs should only be for the group/raid-minded players, and that an entire genre (MMOs) should be confined to serving that small niche.

Yes and the if you want to solo there are the 1-50 and silver and gold zones to solo argument would be a valid one if the same applied as it was after v 10/11 there was nothing for over a year and a half for the solo guy either.... just saying.

And your source for this popularity data is?
Really? Pretty easy to see how popular it is since it was released compared to trials

Even in WoD only 10% of the whole playerbase bothered to Raid on any difficulty.
What does it say about Raiding Endgame when even in WoW only minority bothered with it? And WoW is all about Raiding.

You may want to re-evaluate that % you just threw out from god knows where:

    http://www.wowprogress.com/

The raiding in WoW since WoD has actually increased, with more people using the LFR tool to pug groups.

My point is there are more people out there playing MMOs that like to raid and play in large groups. If the proper tools and grouping was available more players would be playing in large groups to complete the content.

If you want to play a game like a single player rpg then there are many great ones out there. This game is suppose to be a MMO which implies group interaction.

Right but you guys already have that interaction. Upper and Lower Craglorn for PvE groupers, IC for PvPers (of all sorts) along with the trials they have implemented in several updates after launch. It may not be up to current standards, but that is why you ask for improvements. In comparison however, solo players have been given little to nothing since launch and now we are finally getting an update that we've been waiting ages for.

Soloers have a voice here too and make up a significant portion of ESOs player base. Just be patient. They have not forgotten about you.

what is there for solo play?

Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.

Some of us are here for the Elder Scrolls not the MMO. Some solo content would be great. I played everything on my first play through solo that could be and had a blast. This was back before the difficulty nerfs on vet zones so I hope its tough as well.

I threw it exactly from WoWprogress. That 40.629 number under the "Heroic Highmaul Category" is showing how many guilds completed the "Most killed Boss" in Highmaul on Heroic. So 40.629 = ~610k players. The percentage next to the "Kargath Bladefist" is at the moment 64%, which is showing all the guilds that bothered to Raid on any difficulty at all. Let's assume it's counting from only the Guilds that Raided on Normal and not LFR (which shouldn't count towards Raiding anyway), and almost nobody bothers with it these days too. But to get to the point, if we add the remaining 36% you get the total number of players that raided in this expansion on any difficulty, which would be 952k players (counting with all the alts).

Raided Highmaul on Normal -> 952k players (9.52%)
Completed Highmaul on Heroic -> 330k players (3.30%)
Completed Highmaul on Mythic -> 40k players (0.40%)

Completed Blackrock Foundry on Heroic -> 214k players (2.14%)
Completed Blackrock Foundry on Mythic -> 14k players (0.14%)

Raided Hellfire Citadel on Normal -> 554k players (5.54%)
Completed Hellfire Citadel on Heroic -> 86k players (0.86%)
Completed Hellfire Citadel on Mythic -> 3k players (0.03%)

WoD has just Raids and nothing else. It was either Raid or go away. And yet less than 10% of those 10mil bothered to Raid? Raiding is a niche, more now than ever. It's not worth giving so much resources into it, when most players hate group interactions of that scale. Keeping a 10-20man raid together requires too much work, so it's not odd that players today don't want to bother with it.

Anyone insinuating that not having a trial will go a-okay, then we all have news for you.

Nifty is right, large group trials are a big deal in this game. Keep in mind that trials are some peoples absolute favorite part of the game, those people have been deprived for so very long, and that a number of people are going to leave the game if there isn't a trial in the foreseeable future.

And because it seems like the insinuation is present, no, we don't have to have only solo or only group.

Next dlc will have those, and at this rate there will be new trials rather *soon. Just think of how long IC has been out and how close Orsinium already is.

My guess they are releasing this dlc so soon or sooner than expected is that they see to many people leaving thanks to the Grind City update, they are trying to win people back.

Just to paint you a picture from the ps4, i have about 60 friends on PSN that were playing ESO, then the IC update hits the ps4, the number diminished quickly, now there are about 2 or 3 still playing ESO on my friendslist.

I stated my opinion in another thread already so i wont go over that whole thing again, just to keep it simple, for the MMO player the DLC won't be worth it.

Each DLC should include a pve zone (solo), pvp zone, trial/dungeons (group) and cosmetic goodies to go along every quarter. ZOS is just slowwwww

Edit: most other games have been pulling this off for years, but ZOS has us bickering at each other over solo/group/pvp content every other month because they can't seem to keep up with the rest of the gaming industry.

You should play Destiny if you think this game lacks content - then you'd really have something to get upset over

Don't think Destiny is a bad game, since TTK update went live it got a nice chunk of content and......get ready for it.....a new raid :)

We can keep bickering about this upcoming DLC and compare it with every game in the industry but it has no point.

The raid groups already died when IC came out. Apparently ZOS doesn't want to do raids anymore, which makes me extremely sad and upset.

With all the new content being solo focused, there isn't even an incentive to be in a guild. Other than PvP and trading guilds. I thought the whole point of making a TES MMO was to play in the TES universe with friends? Now they are pretty much reducing this to a single player TES game that you can chat with other people on.

Exactly. Having a new, rank 16 raid would be so refreshing. Fingers crossed that it will happen soon.
