Yes, Skyrim was the best Fantasy Single player RPG that I've played in the past 10 years.....
With that said, who ever the idiotic manager was a Bethesda that said "Oh, we made so much money on that game, lets NOT make another" should be fired. They still have no plans to make another one like that which is completely mind boggling.
Skyrim definitely was the best fantasy of its time. I think Witcher 3 is now the King, its definitely better than Dragon Age. I actually think Witcher 3 raised the bar by alot. I still hope though ES6 is going to use ES series strenghts.

I still remember the Beth forums when Morrowind first released. It was total carnage. Why - because it couldn't have been more different from Daggerfall had they spent another 10 years making it more different.
Saying that, it was the same with Oblivion because it wasn't Morrowind and the same again with Skyrim because it wasn't Oblivion. Hmm, I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

Skyrim you literally can not fail a quest. Can't do it. Impossible. Only way to fail at anything in Skyrim is to die. Its hand holding gone wild.
If Bethesda would make a game more in the realm of Morrowind but with updated graphics and gameplay engine, it would dethrone Morrowind easily. But they don't cause they think people will say its too hard and won't buy it.

If your game needs to be heavily modded to be good.
Your game sucks.
That is Skyrim in a nutshell.

Morrowind for me, definitely. Played it for years, was so amazed when it first came out.
Now I'm patiently waiting for Skywind to come out because i want to play Morrowind, but I'm guilty of being graphics-spoilt.
I keep following the Skywind development every step of the way and even donated some cash to keep it going and so far I'm very impressed. Those guys should be hired by bethesda/zos as world designers as they are far more professional than actual employees seem to be.
Can't wait to play Morrowind with modern graphics, nostalgia rose tint with eye-candy addon, huzzah!

Elder Scrolls games weren't meant to be easy anyway! If anyone played The Elder Scrolls 1: ARENA you will remember how horrendously difficult it was to get out that first dungeon!
Got to love a challenge!
