    Essentially, with the block regeneration removal, it will essentially be the end of the viability of them. In 1v1, sure The good ones will be okay. 1v2 and it's over for most anyone, including tanks.

    I don't understand the change to block. Blocking players were never an issue with s&b.

    No not threatened bored dragged out fights are not fun if it was burst wouldent be the commen build if i want to kill people blocking all day i would play dark souls

    I tank in PvP and the upcoming change to stamina regeneration doesn't bother me that much. I can still mitigate 60% of damage from siege weapons, and 80% of player damage and AoE's. And that's without blocking.

    Tanking was possible in PvP i though burst damages was to great to be countered by anything including any tank build except that imfamous cookie cutter infa tank build

    I don't like that they are preventing regen while blocking. My build depends on being able to block attacks and put up shields around my group to help keep them and myself alive. In my opinion, this is a very bad move

    Everyone's health and armor is effectively getting doubled though, isn't it?
    Not actually doubled, mind you, but those values are staying the same, while damage done and damage taken are getting cut in half.
    So you'll be able to spend more time heavy attacking to get back stamina... so hopefully your attackers are in melee range... if you're getting hit by ranged you'll need to rely on Dragon Scale/Defensive Posture more often than is currently needed.
    Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

    Well, damage will be 30% lower than live...... + or - any changes with armor pen/spell pen (there's already a 20% reduction)

    No, increased by 30% effectively. Flat 50% reduction on incoming dmg. It's currently 30% flat.

And most tanks were Magicka specced Dk's flame whip spamming everywhere with such high stam regen that it took like five people to drain there 11k stam pool, lol. That's broken as hell.

    There's only 1 play style that should be eliminated, imo. That's the 1 shot ganking play style. There's no skill involved and I'm all for promoting skillful play. Player A should ALWAYS have an opportunity to be able to react to Player B or vice versa. This is assuming both players are on equal terms(full health, similar gear range, etc). The most frustrating deaths in PvP, for me at least, is dying before I even knew I was hit(excluding deaths due to bugs of course..)...

    I hope you're actually talking about tank builds here, not just tanky players who still aim to deal damage.
    In the latter case it should be fairly easy to bring them down.

    For actual tank builds I simply don't see the problem. It essentially means they sacrificed their offense for defense. If you can not kill them and they can't kill you, where's the problem? There are many builds that don't need much player skill to survive against a single player in 1.6.
    So if someone who can't do much damage needs several people to take down, that seems completely legit to me.

    I think forward tanks serve a purpose in PvP, not the ones that do nothing but hold block, but the ones that get out there and draw the attention, CC and debuff for the rest of the group.

    Sap tanks are the tankiest tanks I've seen. Yesterday there was one just walking up to our siege and burning it as we were using it. Obviously then everyone wanted to kill him but it took about 9 people to do so, ultimates and everything. Props to the guy/gal. He couldn't do a lot of damage though, other than burn siege.

    Eh, tanks will still be around. Just need heavy armor on everything to be one. If anyone remembers 1.6 when it first came out on PTS... Pop Unstoppable while wearing full Heavy Armor and you were just that.

    I could literally walk across battlefields without a care, not block, no heal, nothing but my plate. B)

    That can still be somewhat accomplished now, its just that people know to stack a metric ton of armor penetration and damage. With the 30% increase to mitigation in Battle Spirit, it will once again be time for Heavy Armor to shine. (pun not intended)

    Tanky players in PTS were powerful bcs no one but no single one had any clue what to do against them. As you said if someone knows how to stack ton of armor reduce on you then your armor means literally nothing as it reduced to almost zero thanks to the bugs.

    In 1.7 it wil remain kinda same I believe. Even if they fix the bugs, it is so damn easy to stack 50% redux on someone. And no more nirn for spells. And no more block...
    But it's better to wait for full patch notes before talking^^

    I always preferred my Tanks to be more of a CC machine. Soaking damage does nothing.

    Its a 30% dmg decrease as there already is a 20% atm in cyro. Check the damage on some Ppl (not the low VRs in the beginning)

    this is exactly whats wrong with the stealth game here ~ considering this entire game was build based on daoc's balance - it has none. Stealther classes in daoc were only able to stealth after 10 seconds of non-combat and if they wanted to do it sooner (aka same as dark cloak) they had to use a 10-15min cooldown ability which would also disarm them for 15sec duration.

    Why should I use heavy armor when any decent player have 20k penetration? With all reinforced heavy armor + Buffs I have 29k armor and spell resistance. When someone debuff me I have 23k. I will ask again why should I use heavy if it is not for the block cost reduction? Oh I am not going to block all the time in 1.7. Better use medium or light for cheaper skills and better regens.

    Last time I checked, magicka builds were the strongest tanks in PvP... But that may be my personal opinion only.

    With the removal of stamina regeneration while blocking, the extra stamina cost of dodging twice, and the nerf to nirnhorned armor, the game will be more imbalanced than it has ever been since day 1. So called melee DPS (but the NB) will just be not viable due to the lack of damage mitigation.
