Weakest class in PvE?

All classes are relatively balanced.

I knew going into the game that stamina sorcerer would be one of the weakest builds ever... did it stop me from playing one? no.

I think once sorc's utility spells affects bosses (nearly 1/3 of their skill line), you'll see more of them asked into groups. I don't understand why ZOS can't do this honestly. Either buff sorc utility dark magic skills for boss fights or just remove all the utility for some oblivion damage and healing buffs.

You might want to prove what you say by linking the gear that allows for > 3K magic damage.
Even the most FOTM builds I have found around (like Deltia's) don't go above 2.3-2.4k magic damage

Sorcs, no doubt.
Stamina sorc = just no.

Tank sorc: no special ability: you won't find a group, not even for dailies.
Healer sorc: no special ability: you might find a group for silver key. Otherwise it's ALL about templar healers and that's it.
Magicka DPS: it's fun and it's the only viable build, however it still deals 4-5 less K DPS than the other classes. Plus, they end magicka at about 75% of boss fights.
AoE damage is better done by other classes as well.

Basically there's not a single reason to ever invite a sorc into a group.

Are you playing a different Game or just playing with ***?
I run Vet Dungeons as Tank allmost every Day, do AA, Hel Ra and vCoA as a Tank and never got kicked out, dont get an Invite or hear People complaining about my bad Tanking.
I dont have all the Selfheal or O *** Buttons Dks or the other 2 Classes have but i can take a lot of Dmg and keep Aggro as good as every other Class.

I also can do every Vet Dungeon or Trial as Healer with my Sorc. Not all are funny or easy but you can make it if you are not a Noob Buttonsmasher. Actually i teach the People with my DK Twink that not just Templers are good Healers. 30% more Healing, nice Shields with the right CP, Groupbuffs and other Utilitys that no other Class have makes the DK a very good Healer in his own Style.

And ending with 75% Magica in most of the Fights? Are you the Guy i run low Vet Daily these Days with who was just spamming HA, Curse + Crystal Frags once or twice a Minute and cursing me for being a buildcopying *** who dosnt know anything about Sorcs after i try to give him some Tipps?
I agree that we are behind other Classes in DPS if we dont use Overload but i never end up with high Magica if none is using Elemental Drain and/or the Fight lasts longer. DPS with a Sorc is more as keeping Major Sorcery up and spamming Force Pulse + Crystal Frags on Proc.

The only Place where Sorcs are on par or better as other Classes is PvP and shorter Bossfights with full Overload. You dont have full Overload in every Bossfight (except DSA) or can use it from the Start to the End/20% and i dont understand why Zenimax isnt higher the Dmg of Sorc Abilitys in PvE and scale it down for PvP to help Sorcs getting even with other Classes. Other Games are going the same Way and it works mostly after some Adjustments. For what we have the Testserver and can do Hotfixes if not for Things like this?

Now, we can ask some sorcerer who tell us in pre 1.6 (like Ppontus) sorcerer are fine...
Sorcerer are not really good again in DPS for Raid PVE

But sorcerer just now do 20-50 % less damage than stamina templar or DK magicka...

So please Mr Ewan PPontus show us your good build who do more dps than templar stamina or DK magicka...

The forums have seen very little of Ppontus et al since the early flurry of 'Sorcs are fine' propaganda post 1.6... but then everyone has had time to find out for themselves and have discovered the argument was as full of hot air as I and others always said it was.

We are as likely to see an admission of how wrong they got it as we are to see the second coming, frankly... so don't hold your breath.

There is also no acknowledgement from Zenimax as to the issue. There has been silence pretty much, since one senior developer in a live feed basically claimed the class was fine because he'd seen a Sorc own another player in PvP with a spike damage... and this in answer to concerns about PvE performance.

I do wonder whether they have a single person within the company playing the game...

but you can Whisper @Rutger91 in AD and ask him how he get 28k dps with ultimate and 17k dps with spamming force pulse on mantikora.

you want to pass the 3k spell dmg wall ?? Ill give ya a tip..its called MASTER GREATSWORD.

Congratulations to you for getting the Greatsword and in the right Trait. I dont run vDSA anymore because of the stupid RNG. Sorcs just can do 17k+ DPS with full Overload and DKs can do that much Dmg just with normal Rotation.

I'm glad to hear you found builds you like and that works. Not doubt, you can make both stamina- and tank specs work with a sorcerer if you have enough individual skill and determination, but other classes will still do it better and therefore be preferred.

My medium armor NB "ranger" would dps the living hell out of your bowsorcerer, both single target and AoE, while also bringing dmg mitigation and buffs to the group. My DK heavy armor "knight" is also a superior tank, because of unique class skills like cheap roots, chains to group up the trash and the best self heal in the game. My templar is a way better healer.

@eliisra Really what other classes can solo Veteran dungeons?
