M'aiq in the Elder Scrolls Online

Here are my thoughts on who this furry creature is:

1) An Aedra/Daedra in disguise.
2) Immortal.
3) Every single member of his family, and all descendants are named M'aiq the Liar.

Third option more likely, M'aiq even says so. Of course, he might be lying

Fourth option, M'aiq the liar is a vocation not a person, every M'aiq chooses a random Khajiit to be his successor, if he doesn't turn up after a while, the new M'aiq takes up the lifestyle and starts spouting random comments.

Has anyone found M'aiq in Coldharbour. Been every where not seen him.

I don't think he is in Cold Harbour, just Tamriel.

Yes, but according to a thread M'aiqs words of wisdom nobody has seen him there. So either he's extremely well hidden or he's just not there.

Well, I contacted support on finding M'aiq in Coldharbour - not knowing it his non-appearance is a bug or not. This was their response:

I understand you have been trying to keep tabs on the whereabouts of the ever elusive M'aiq in Coldharbour, to no avail. As a Player, I can relate to this situation, and I would like to thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

However, M'aiq the Liar's whereabouts to adventurers are as elusive as the truth is to him, so you'll have to dedicate a lot of time in searching for him. He can be found in several different locations within a zone, completely at random. If no adventurer manages to find him at one location within a certain amount of time, he'll move on to a different location.

But apparently M'aiq was not completely honest with us about his adventures in Coldharbour, as he doesn't seem to wander around at this dark and dangerous place at this time. We are currently negotiating with him to let himself be seen in Coldharbour. Finding M'aiq the Liar is definitely an achievement for the extremely dedicated!

Should you encounter any other issues, or have further questions, please, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Actually they told you he doesn't, but that they are trying to fix it so he does.

Actually they told you he doesn't, but that they are trying to fix it so he does.

Great news! Hope they incorporate him to be seen in next patch/major patch!

Bangkorai: Sacred Springs and on the sanded beach above Silaseli Ruins.

Khenarthi's Roost: North of Bolga's Hunting Camp.

Auridon: Between the Skyshard and the Isle of Contemplation, Smuggler's Cove and hidden in the ruins on the beach south of Soulfire Plateau.

Grahtwood: East of the Ossuary Wayshrine, down the hill side, on the way to the Scuttle Pit solo dungeon.

Greenshade: Echo Pond.

Stormhaven: I found him south of at-Tura Estate along the beach, coordinates 32/67.

The Rift: Slightly North-West corner of Faldar's Tooth dungeon location, along the shoreline, coordinates 47.86/46.61.

Glenumbra: Just East on Camlorn and South West of Gaudet Farm, on the tiny island of a small pond, coordinates 57.35/32.24.

Stonefalls: Slightly west of Armature's Upheaval crafting station, to the left of the lava waterfall, coordinates 49.13/62.10.

Bal Foyen: Head out of the gate of Fort Zeren and hang a left, run up to the hill and hug the wall while slowly walking back south. He's on top of the hill in an outcropping but is hard to see because of the phasing issue in the zone. It took me a few tries to get close enough to him to interact with, but as long as you can see a Bull Netch further down the hill you are in the correct phase to see him, coordinates 23.93/67.18.

Can anyone confirm if they have seen M'aiq at any location on Betnikh OTHER THAN the one listed in this thread? I have been to that location many times and have never seen him. I understand that he can randomly appear in other location on the map and am trying to get info on those other locations, please.

EDIT: And just after I asked this, I went to that location and he was finally there! But I do want to know if anyone has seen him at other Betnikh locations...

Bal Foyen
Everyone seems to list only one location for M'aiq on every website I look at, in Bal Foyen. He's probably in 3-4 different locations there, just like every area. But I found him in a 2nd location & never could find him at the overlook (even after crossing the server boundaries and seeing the bull netches).

The blue arrow of my character shows where I'm at on the map (the overlook has the symbol of M'aiq in the one location that's marked by an Add-on):

It's a shame M'aiq doesn't make any more remarks about dev decisions in ESO. Used to do so in other TES games. Here... he just talks random ***.

About the change in inventory management from the previous TES: slots vs weight.

"M'aiq tried to swim out to sea, but had to turn back. Slaughterfish. Always the slaughterfish."
The slaughterfish used as a wall to prevent exploring.

"M'aiq asked an Argonian if she could breathe underwater. She asked if he could see in the dark. M'aiq had no good answer."
About the previous TES racial skills of Argonians and Khajiits, not present in ESO.

Haha fair enough. It seems I drew my conclusions prematurely. This does seem like a clear sign inventory is never going to get larger

Too bad for the hoarders!
