My nightblade dual-wield build is doing just fine, thank you. But yes, there are a number of fixes that were detailed in the 1.1 notes, so I'd assume those are still in place.

I love how people in this thread think shield bash is spited because of its dps, its about the permanent dizzy/disable it causes when it is spammed. People victimized by this abused mechanic cant escape, they spend all of their stamina just trying to roll away enough to get some breathing room, just to be bashed again.

its fricken stupid and should be nerfed into the dirt.

This is why is getting fix, not the damage on itself but the permanent stunt that this may cause, on top of that, with the right spec, you can shield bash eternally, and perma stunt/kill anything, but no one is going to agree with this as no one wants their "OP one bottom win" nerfed.

It is a secret. For now. ;)

We'll be publishing the patch notes for v1.1.2 tomorrow sometime during the NA maintenance.

Cool, but before then - can we get the overall size of the patch? Don't exactly have a fast internet connection and since I'd like to be able to play this weekend, would be good to know before hand so I could make the trip to the library to download instead. Anything under 300-500mb is doable at home, 4-6 hours, but bigger than that and I'm looking at a day or more. From home it took almost 5 days to download the beta

I dont really want to disappoint you but expect a lot more. I guess it will be a few gigs.

They are attempting to answer the age old question...

How many swords could a nord horde hoard if a nord horde could hoard swords?

    Without getting bored, of course.

usually patch notes are released later because they don't want players to know what is going to change (duh)

    my 3 main theories
    1. implementing something new and potentially complicated that may not work so it may be abandoned after the patch is applied to the server and it then fails to work properly when the check it before releasing it
    2. changes to items or aspects that would lead to players changing play decisions to take advantage of the game state prior to changes (or mentioning an exploit)
    3. similar to #2, changes to catch bots but they do not want to tip off the botters (fingers crossed)

also to correct something ZoS makes possibly little or no money from bot accounts, they are typically bought with stole CC which ZoS refunds, plus are sometimes required to pay a fee.

The reason they haven't dealt with bots properly is because of all the whiners who spent the first couple weeks making huge threads (I think it was close to 25 pages) screaming for loot to be nerfed to oblivion or nearly eliminated, ZoS did it and the bots didn't care. Then the same whiners screamed for GMs, except that to constantly monitor the game would cost a fortune, but ZoS put in some GMs and it still didn't stop the bots, then all the whiners unsubbed because their dumb ideas didn't work, because as many tried to explain, fixing the bot problem needs to be done with code.

Also no announcement has been made about the Shadowfen quest bug, although they are fixing the Eastmarch quest bugs, so Shadowfen could be in 1.1.2 or soon after.

We fixed an issue with the bots.
Since most of them had unspeakable names, we randomly have chosen a word from the English dictionary as the new name for them.
This makes it easier for other people to report them.

Impulse: Increased the Magicka cost of Impulse and its morphs.

If you have spent skill points in the Impulse ability, you will have those points returned to your overall skill point pool. They can be re-spent in this ability, or invested elsewhere.

Anyone know the actual cost increase?

Actually, I read in 1.1.1 that they are "Fixing an issue where interrupt could be used more frequently than intended." Which means a DK nerf...and a nerf for my character, might have to go back to dual wield.

If you are referring to being able to spam shield bash that was a cheesy tactic to start with. I do use sword and board as one of my weapon sets, but don't rely on shield bash for damage so meh.

How are you able to do any consistent damage without spamming shield bash? Not really a cheesy tactic because it requires a stamina build and special enchantments to work well. I still can't compete against any sorcerer in DPS no matter which weapon set I try to use. Guess I should have rolled another character because DKs are survivable, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to make them do damage.

You can't figure out how to make a DK survivable and do dps at the same time? You should have a word with almost any DK in Cyrodiil, they seem to have no problem doing both without just shield bash.

Frankly it's absurd that ZOS designed a tank class that can put out the most effective aoe dps in the game.

I don't enter Cyrodill. I have come to realize that my problem is that my character is built around stamina instead of magic. As for AOE spells, they take up too much magic and don't put out that much damage. At least not my character. I am very survivable, just not very strong at damaging. I do my 230 damage with the shield bash and that is good enough for me. It isn't really OP if I still don't do as much as other characters and my damage is confined to a single target. In PVP, I could understand the issue with shield bashing forever, or in my case 33+ times before stam runs out. But that is my build and I have almost no magical power so it is a big trade off. All my magic goes into green dragon blood and 1-2 claws per enemy. DK isn't made for a DPS, it's made for damage over time, which I can do. I just want to do DPS, which I can't figure out. I think you are misinterpreting my comments to mean that I can't do damage, I can, it just isn't a straight shot that takes out half their health like NB and Sorc seem to do.

I see what your saying here, but consider that the dots in question are 4-6 sec long. Fiery Breath + Burning Talons + Unstable elemental wall or Pulsar depending on skill level. Individually these spells are great, and stacked they are amazing. Not much will live through that. I can take out packs of mobs in the time it would take you to shield bash one down. Single target and elites are not much different. Substitute fire whip for the destro spell at the end of the rotation. Yes having a stam heavy build is going to be a problem with what I described.

So from now on, all you special snowflakes get is nasty plain doughnuts...enjoy!

    Could have fooled me.

Honest, direct answers are always preferred to vague answers which lead the receiver to feel they are being deceived. Even when I have to deliver bad news, or news that people do not want to hear... the direct, most precise answer OF WHAT WE EXPECT TO RESULT... is the best. If I am wrong, it will require some explaining, but it will show I am engaged, interested, and still with them.

I know if people can be understanding when their loved one is sick/dying, then I know that people can be understanding about a game. IF THEY FEEL THEY ARE BEING HONESTLY INFORMED.

Any time a developer provides an ETA, players are idiots and forget that the "E" stands for "estimated". Then the forums blow up when the servers are down for one minute more or less than the ETA.

There's a reason (actually, there are a plethora of reasons) that developers don't tell you exactly how long something will take. In short: they don't know either.

Yeah, the dizzy/stun should be. The actual use of it isn't a problem. I don't PVP, so I don't know the issues there, but couldn't they simply remove it's dizzy/stun and that would fix the problem everyone has with it?

I think that was meant as a joke. It's been the practice for a while now to post patch notes when the server goes down for maintenance.

It's not that hard to piece together what to expect between the two PTS patch notes and the things they are working on thread. We should still expect some surprises though.

They have a limited amount of time for each patch so they can't fix everything possible. If they launch the patch notes to early there will be tons of complaints about what the patch doesn't fix.

Ah that makes sense. Poor devs, always getting attacked for doing or not doing stuff. Kind of a harsh calling.

I guess they shouldn't nerf stuff into the ground then, hey!!!

Um...have you NO idea what they are gonna do to night blades? Every freakin player will make a night blade alt after 1.1 and defently 1.2.

Night blades have alot of problems that needs to be fixed. Bugs that makes passive skills not work as intended. They are fixing em. What the duce are you whining about?

Ok, I have a NB parked at lvl 50. Could you tell me why they are going to be so awesome come these patches???
