Real PVPers hate CURRENT Zerg v Zerg combat.. By the time BGs get here all the REAL pvpers gone..

I always wonder why people make (or at least try to) direct comparisons to games that are from completely different "Generations". It like comparing the original Counterstrike (which was an addon to Half Life for those that don't know) and BF4.

Markets change, and it's up to Companies to try an cater to those demands.

However what I don't get, is this notion that people seem to have about how mandatory it is for Games to cater to every person.

The Doomsayers of gaming communities remind me of petulant children scream at their parents for not buying them that box of coco pops.

TESO doesn't have Arenas, simple as...

Want to play a game that has them? Then why not open your eyes and find 1 that does (trust me, you won't have to look too much)?

As far as I'm concerned, the only way this game will fail, is if they deviate from their original vision for the game.

FFXIV is not real PvP. GW2 is an embarrassment and SWTOR is a JOKE as well.

Any credibility you might have been searching for was lost right there.

DAOC has and will always be the standard that people will hold newer MMos too in terms of fun PvP. The only carrot on a stick is Realm Points for abilities.

People played because it was fun. If you are so interested in Arenas play another game that has them. Stop whining here or PvDooring like you probably do.

Open World is the only thing that can be considered "Real PvP" because you just have NO idea what is going to happen. The amount of variables is too high to account for. That is not the arena.

I am not saying there shouldn't be an Arena but the first campaign isn't even over yet.

I agree open world can be blast, However it can also be a detriment, Warhammer did the RVR servers right by not allowing the lvl capped toons to go to the starter zones and grieve on the newb's. Ya I know you need to pad your Kill to death ratio and what better way to do that than go kill some lvl 3's

Anyone ever wonder why the PvP servers are always the first to get merged?

Unfortunately it's not the Open World that is a detriment it is the people who play it.

People are always looking to beat the system or make themselves feel better by griefing players.

I agree there should of been two different Cyrodiils. a 10-49 and a VR1-10.

Battleground would be awesome with like a smaller version of Cyrodiil as well.

Arenas Could be fun as well so long as they are directly involved with Cyrodiil itself.

When you try to cater to everyone you lose your niche crowd and eventually fail catering to everyone because project scope is dangerous especially after release of the game.

Keep it simple and once everything you have is running smoothly then re look at the options.

That would further show all the broken abilities if people were able to be dueled. Between the API nerf I see very little chance of dueling happening. It's the only way we can REALLY test abilities to see if they are working or not.

I had a blast in DAOC as a solo rr13 scout for years, and when I didn't feel like soloing I went to defend keeps from the zergs.

The game is young and so are most of the people playing it, when people start figuring out for themselves or seeing DAOC vets using the open world strategies we will see a lot more stealth wars and "8v8's"

Arenas saved swtor, really? maybe things have changed drastically in the last month but last time I played swtor nobody did arenas on purpose and half the time if an arena popped most of the group left.

Daoc never was and never tried to be an esport. Wow tried and failed, so did a few others... The format just doesn't work in MMOs.

SWTOR,GW2,Runescape and Planetside 2 They got invited but MLG really didn't like what they saw.

And I'd bet the farm it hasn't seen a major increase in paid subs since Arenas where released. I would even venture to say the space combat release did more for getting them paid subs than that piece of crap arena system they have:

zergs don't make victory as much as you think. I have been with a group that defeated 30 Ad players and my group had 15 players max. mindless zergers are not that hard to deal with. small coordinated teams can beat huge zerg rushes easily. iv seen it done over and over and over again.

No good PvPer would ever think or use the term "real PvPer", assume his playstyle as the only valid one or come up with all the discriminations people have concocted in this thread. This makes their entire point moot and, if they leave, I will gladly stand here and wave them goodbye.

Whilst having battlegrounds, scenarios, warfronts, arenas or whatever you want to call them would be good for the game (face it, sometimes running across Cyrodiil is a chore more than anything else) with class balance the way it is you'd just end up coming up against groups of DKs spamming banner to win.

Not that would be any different to pvp in Cyrodiil mind you...
