PvP is dying.... with nothing in future outlook (ZOS not saying anything still)

I'm contemplating to unsub'n today. The future outlook (http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/05/01/the-road-ahead---may-1st?ref=home) mentions nothing for PvP except for the Imperial city. I honestly can't see how the unbalanced campaigns can go for this long. It's really surprising that not once are they even saying ANYTHING about it.

They are STILL doing quest fixes on quests that probably not being experienced for most people. The whole concept of how they implemented pvp on multiple campaigns is the first mistake and then not enforcing a stricker population lock/balancing mechanism is another but really what's hitting the nail here is there's NO COMMUNICATION from ZOS about the acknowledgement of the problem or if they are addressing.

Yes I'm strongly thinking of unsubing. I have 8 more free days and within those 8 days if nothing progress or no communication happens, I'm done. I'm a player who's in it for the pvp not pve. At least Star Citizen (which is not out yet) communicates with their fanbase on a DAILY basis and the game is not even out yet. Go figure.. big coporates are just what it is, ZOS is no different than EA, very slow to address anything and very particular on who from their staff can communicate, thus I have to assume they ain't doing *** to fix pvp.

Well Lucardes, what do you believe should be done to fix the problem?
You say you dislike it, but haven't posted what you believe can be done to fix it.
You just expect Zenimax to tell you what they come up with.

Now I believe that it is up to us,
    the community,
to try to unbalance the various campaigns.

For example, although my guild (The Noore) owns Skullcrusher,
we very regularly travel to Goldbrand and other campaigns to try and even them out until our home comes under attack.

Now in regards to fixing the population problem,
The number of keeps owned should count towards Alliance population.
If you own every single keep in a campaign, make it so the population is High.

Thanks man, I will check in once in awhile to see if they done anything or fixed pvp or add content to pvp that makes it more exciting. Perhaps if they where to do this all over again, Arena style vs open pvp might have been better/fun"er" open world pvp especially when they are separated by multiple instances (campaigns) is very hard thing to implement correctly as is the case in other past MMO's

I honestly don't think we can fix this by communicating with each other to help it balance, the forums is only being read by a small portion of players compared to the overall that are active in PvP. The solution would have been as I mentioned a hard lock.. say when a particular alliance is 10% vs the next highest populated allaince and that next one is also applied a lock if it goes 10% over the 3rd alliance something like that should have been applied from the start. It's hard to fix this because the next campaign doesn't happen till 2 more months!

They might as well reset all the campaign and apply those locks now and save their subs/players vs risking people such as myself cancelling their sub. I'm not patient to wait for next campaign, let alone we haven't even heard anything or even are they working on fixing it. Thus as I said it leaves me to assume they don't care for the pvp side of players

Not really interested in Star Citizen. They just seem to be making the same mistake as the others who have tried to make a similar game before them.

Are you dumb? you keep quoting me and replying on other threads I'm in. The developers said from the start that the focus was not pve or pvp players and that we treat all the players the same, it's there somewhere. That was a lie from them, because they haven't fixed a single notable thing for pvp since the start. I didn't make a mistake the game is fun but the fun of it is gone when we have unbalanced and bad systems in place.

Its pretty apparent you fell for their lie, not your fault other than all mmo devs repeat that same lie. Its obvious to anyone but pvp only types that this is a pve game. Unfortunately, get used to pvp being treated like LOTRO, which means ignored.

It's a sad truth, again I got my month worth of play it was fun pve is cool. As you can see I am more focused on the PvP side as that is really my end game challange/fun and since game isn't catering for pvpers at all,I already cancelled. I will see if that changes down the road.

If you're looking for balance in an RvR then you are doing it wrong. If you're not in an organized guild then you are doing it wrong. This is an RvR version of PvP and a pretty good one too. Lots of ways for smart organized groups to fight and win against unorganized pubbies who only fight when surrounded by friendly faces. Find the right guild, find a campaign with lots of fights then go to town.

If you want to know what they need to do here you go.

    1. End this current Campaign session and start a new one. (really people are leaving campaigns, because they don't feel they have a chance in that one).
    2. Lower the amount of campaigns there are, maybe 3-4.
    3. Give some different population caps for different campaigns. (so, that people can choose if they want the really large RvR or a smaller RvR type play.)
    4. Make Campaign sessions shorter so if an imbalance does happen it only last for about 30 days instead of 90

I think these changes would help pvp in general for everyone.

It's really not catering to end-game PvE as well, either. The Veteran areas are essentially "New Game+" (same content you'd see on a new toon, only harder!) Craglorn makes it easy to satisfy folks after PvE - it's simpler to create a new PvE area and set up boss scripting.

Here's the PvP problem, as I see it...

Even if you get all the balancing issues squared off, fix broken combinations and squashed ability bugs, PvP is an endless see-saw. Rush to attack, rush to defend. Steal scrolls, recover scrolls, break keeps, repair keeps. Die, resurrect, back into the fray. No NPCs to aid in the assaults - they just defend. Poorly.

That's what ES PvP is. A war game with unlimited reinforcements. There are effectively no 'winning' conditions that can close a campaign in a day/week - ZOS's design to avoid zerging to victory in a quick morning is to set a timer. And the only thing worth fighting over? Each other's territories and the Emperorship. But only so far in territory - no matter what you try, you cannot stop the enemy from returning. You can restrict them, at most, to their two entrance areas, but you cannot stop them.

Not to sound like a smartass or anything, but I have yet to find a campaign with decent balance. In my experience, either a campaign is controlled by one alliance, is lopsided by different day / night populations, or it simply lacks a population to begin with.

I was having fun on my campaign, i was only around 20s level, then i realised there was a huge difference between V10s and a level 20, and also these grasshopper groups killing everything on side, destroying. I stopped joining pvp for now and back to speed leveling which i think should be addressed because the people who enjoys leveling being forced to level faster to be competitive in pvp. But what ever reason, it is obvious the population on campaigns drastically decreased. I don't know what but something must be done because for so many people end-game is equal to pvp not killing some scripted boss to get better gear.

2 or 3 campaings should fix most of the imbalance issues.
    At least its a start...
10 campains in EU and only 1 is fully capped by 3 populations and yet only 1 dominated due to abusing Sorc / Dragon vamp exploits.

Maybe it can turn around now, if the damage isnt already done :(

I have still 4 days left, it's very possible I will be cancelling. PVP at the beginning was fun but after some time it just feels pointless. There's no real realm pride, taking and losing keeps and scrolls feels bland, there's no real reason for it. There's no battle line,no frontier to defend, you can find people everywhere. They should have made the choke points defendible and closed as well (bridges/gates).
The keeps have all the same layout, they are poorly designed and have poor placement (there is a keep with a bloody tree next to the walls blocking the sight, another one which allows attackers to shoot from higher ground without being able to hit them from the keep - I mean, who the hell designed these? No sane castle builder would have made this undefensible crap, the layouts are just plain horrible.
I think I'm done with theme parks and next stop is gonna be Camelo Unchained. Wish I didn't blow 100 pounds on this (2 accounts for me and my gf) :(

I think one of the main problems is, that the rangking system is only interesting for singel player. In gw2 you all play together, if you play good your server get higher in the ranking system if you play bad you fall in ranking system. You also will play for points that you can improve shields or whatever with your pvp rank.At the moment we have a *** single player statistic.
I think there must be a solution soon, that makes statistik and playing pvp moreinteresting for all players.
Also pvp needs a better balance.

Zenimax isn't responsible for what players choose to do as long as it is within the EULA and TOS.

The problem is the players. Zerg players don't like to lose. So they leave when a bigger zerg comes.

Very True PVP needs more content and campaign balancing.

Yeah... well... after a week of playing TESO i told that this game need more PvP content, or else people gone start to leave, battleground system for people who do not have time for Cyrodiil, more exp from PvP for people who do not want to leave the Cyrodiil for levelling up in PvE... imagine how many more people would be in AvA area if quests and rewards there would be slightly better than on PvE area, for price of constant danger of being killed. And those people would also join fights from time to time. People keep writing about those ideas, and what? First, you got tons of people that got only one argument: "go back to WoW, this is AvA, we don't want anything else" and second, developers who for next big patch gone give us more PvE content, and guess what? Promises of even more PvE content in the future.

Well good for them, imho game is lost right in this moment, it will share the fate of WAR, or TOR. Sad but i think this is true.

This system is the PVP Endgame. Most people haven't reached that point yet and are still trying to level up before devoting themselves to PVP. This is how a lot of games were. It will be a few months before the majority reach leavel 50 start PVPing a lot. Zenimax is waiting for this.

A lie, don't you get it? They said they don't differentiate between pve'ers and pvp'ers, well guess what. That's a lie because they are forcing pvp'ers to level in pve zones because its fastest way and oh the next content patch coming doesn't have a SINGLE pvp related new content oh and to add to that the future outlook lists only imperial city pvp dungeon while the other bullet points are all pve related. Simple dude they lied to the players in-order to get more upfront sales on the Collectors Editions, don't forget this is a business. They just looked at it at the benefits of the short term. I already cancelled not supporting this lie or EVEN THE LACK OF DAMN COMMUNICATION. Seriously how many posts like mine saying this imbalance is killing many players and not 1 damn reply or outlook on fixing this. Yup I'm done. 4 days remaining...
