How many are at the point of asking for a refund?

I read in another topic about how someone will ask for a refund if all of these problems continue for much longer.

I am at that point, too. This game is broken and should not have been launched. I want my $80 back.

The question is: how many are at this point or, am I overreacting? And, will they actually give us our money back?

I am and I fully agree with you.
    vicster0 wrote: »
You're overreacting. No, they will not refund you for what you say is "broken and should not have been launched." (Have you even heard of the game Battlefield 4?)

What you are dealing with now is a product of playing/using a product at first launch (version 1.XX). It hapens; and furthermore, it needs to happen. The hardships now help to make the game better in the long run.

I'm not quite sure what people don't understand about this concept...

GTFO fanboy...you will rage as soon as you lose all your stuff.

I don't think it's overreacting to consider asking for a refund when the game is erasing your progress, and is nigh unplayable due to some massive bugs that either kick you out of the game, lag you to death, erase progress and items, and impeded questing.

Last night I tried to log on and play a dozen times. Half of the things I tried to do wouldn't work. The other half would kick me out of the game.

So, in a game where time is your money being spent, your suggestion is to "wait it out?"

    This.

Anyone suggesting the "wait it out" approach either is a fanboy, or has not had this happen to them yet.

Well, @Tweek, you are correct about one thing, I have not had nearly as many of the "large" problems people are complaining about. I have not lost items (yet) or has progress undone. So, in that matter there is no argument. However, I can assure you I am not fanboy. And as much as part of me would have wanted to be slightly upset at the "GTFO" remark, I just sorta giggled hysterically at your inflated ego and anonymity empowered ePeen.

Congratulations, give yourself a pat on the back for us all. I hope you can find happiness in your next "14 years" of MMO exploration. Hopefully someone will develop the "perfect, bug free, game" for you at some point in your life. Or hell, maybe you can be a part of the team and help develop it - maybe you will turn in to a bit more of a realist. For now, you are just hilarious...

Bottom line, the game has been around for two weeks. Maybe since I have not personally been impacted by any of the large bugs I am still wearing rose colored glasses, but I will personally give them more time to work out the kinks. If they haven't made any progress for the better in a few months, then I may climb aboard the ship many of your are prematurely hailing. "All aboard the ship of Refunds!"

I'm going to go enjoy myself for now and contemplate the more serrious matters in life...

    Good day!

This game is garbage with bugs like this and if you truly do enjoy it good for you. You must not play very often judging by your post and snarky remarks about how much I care. I'm sorry I actually care about the glitch and the bugs, I actually have a brain and hate to see people ripped off.

Also not surprised to here it has not happened to you....looking forward to when it does.

Even Warhammer Online had less bugs and problems then ESO, so dont give us that crap about overreacting.

    This.

You're so full of crap it's not even funny.

Ever hear of Diablo 3, eve online? WOW? Those were some of the worst day 1 launches in mmo history.

This launch was smooth. I've yet to have an issue other then minor log on issues at peak hours.

HEY I played all of those games at launch and guess what...NONE of them had character wipe bugs and the bugs that were there were fixed quickly and the support team seemed like they cared...unlike this one.

This is the worst launch since TOR.

*** happens dude they already said there looking into the bank bug. They can't fix *** in an instant takes time.

The launch itself is not terrible - but there are bugs that prevent the game from going. Unsave Haven quest bugged, no npc's spawning to complete it - story quest with phasing. Without it I don't have a main city quest hub.
    - Level 17, game over.

I canceled my sub for the time being. Month to sort bugs that prevent gameplay at all will be enough to judge if I wan't to renew. I waited a long time for this game, had my hopes up even after buggy betas, and I really like how the game looks, but hey, I can understand a bug, but not a character-ending one. For what I'm paying exactly, active beta tests?
Bottom line, the game has been around for two weeks.

Game was around for a year of beta testing.

Also before you even bother writing four tickets to support....from what I have been told by several people it takes days for them to "escalate" you. After about five days they tell you they cannot give you back your gold or items and that you should make a new character. All the while saying jokey things like "Mudcrabs have taken your items" and garbage like that.

So you just lost 100+ hours of progress(or however long you played) and they don't care at all. Great game...glad too see everyone is getting their money's worth.

Initially, I was very reluctant to subscribe to this game due to the way support were (not) dealing with issues, but I've seen a gradual improvement of customer service since launch.

A key thing for me is I raised a service ticket and made many posts asking for the EU scheduled maintenance to be moved from primetime Sunday AM (which was always a bad idea from ZOS). They have done this and it's things like this that make me think that even though there are teething troubles, they are listening and resolving them.

I've not had the bank glitch however - if I had that, I'd probably be waiting 6 months for stability! As it is, for me, I am going to keep subscribing month by month. Before launch I was thinking I may to do a 6 month sub, but I am wary of the support, despite what I see as improvements in that area, I want to see support proven before I commit long-term.

The game itself is superb, I could not have wished for a better Elder Scrolls MMO, and I have played them all since Arena. I really did not think the developers would be able to keep the feeling of TES once it went MMO, but they have done this. So long as support gets better and stays better, I will be in long-term.

This is how Vanguard and Age of Conan (best example i can think of) died for me, great game by heart but the endless problems got people to the disappointing point of just quitting the game cause it was too much of a hassle to get any enjoyment out of it.

I really like this game and want to keep liking it, but the sheer amount of issues and especially these loading times are quickly erroding it

Yes, Age of Conan, I remember waiting for that game, me and some friends, and thought it was going to be great fun. Well it was a big flop, just like this game is going to be if they don't get some fixes real fast. I'm so disappointed right now, been waiting for this game a long time I really expected It to be made much better and perform much better. Sad thing is I trusted them to come out with a great product, spent my money on it, and unfortunately once you pay for a game that's it, its like legal theft there is no recourse less you want to take them to court. I posting because I'm a bit upset at the amount of time I have spent on broken quest and .......LOADING SCREENS..... like over an hour of time has been just waiting for screens to load, and I assure you its not the computer, all other mmos run smooth, I have checked all drivers so im good. So will it get better and will I continue to play, it all depends on if they fix the main problem issues before my 30 day free trial is up, or at least see some major effort to correct them.

I'm not a game dev or producer. But, as a consumer, I am not happy with what I've been given for my money. And now, I suppose I paid $80 for about a week of game time, much of that week spent logging in and out to fix progression bugs.

I canceled my 3 month sub. I guess the question really comes down to wondering if Zeni is going to be able to fix all of these things and make the game a stable and fun adventure. Honestly, I know things take time to fix, but when the game is near unplayable and progress is being erased, don't you take the game down and perform an extended maintenance or some sort of emergency hotfix?

If you think server sided stored data can be affected by internet connetion, you should look no further for mentally challenged things around. You just need to look into the mirror. What's next? Fix your PC as a solution to not spawning NPC's?

Those things are affecting random people, so muppets like you think, that if they don't have a problem, it does not exist.

I think the better comparison would be: Would your company continue to order things they need for their production from a company that is only delivering them stuff that they have to repair first (relogs) before they can use them for production or even things that are not usable because they are broken (like the bank bug and other things)?

I reached 60/60 completed quests in the first zone before experiencing a quest bug, which prevented the completion of one side quest in the second zone. I then played that zone to completion and upon returning that issue had resolved itself.

Other than that I have experienced the same server maintenance problems (minor) and typical lag/latency issues (minor, again occasional). There have also been occasional de-syncs which are resolved by logging out and back in every time and occur no more than every six hours of gameplay or so.

It all depends if they have broke what they've promised, when purchasing the game they promise the games content, and further subscription for access to their servers, a bit blunt but from what I see is, some of the content isn't accessible, now you'll have to find legal clause within T's and C's to be able to get a refund, but I presume they will have had it covered by stipulating that any bugs within the content shall be fixed through live updates so I doubt you have a legal standing for a refund.

He's been trolling the board since the last few betas, I think he's a shill. Not one of my hundreds of guildmates experienced those issues. Ask in any of my five 100+ player guild chats and you'll get the response that the launch hasn't been perfect (quest bugs mainly) but was overall one of the smoothest they've ever experienced.

By comparison it took two weeks for me just to log into a four player game: Diablo 3; even though the company who owns it also own World of Warcraft.

No, no. You can't simply ignore what are many people complaining about on these boards and in game. No one is hating on ESO. It had a somewhat smooth launch, sure. But since launch people all over are experiencing some major issues, lag, crashes, erased items, rollbacks...

The fact is that major bugs that are wasting peoples' time exist in the current build and nothing significant is happening. It is real and many people are experiencing it. I'm glad that you have not. But, it is not a fabrication.

I think I agree. I was never considering anything legal, or getting into that type of thing. I just set aside money for this game because it looked so fantastic. I upgraded to Imperial edition when it became apparent that I wasn't getting a horse anytime soon because of how expensive everything is, as well as how awesome Imperials passives are. But, I can't even play the game now. And my free time is bleeding away. How will I know when the game is stable enough for me to come back and give this game more of my money?

Yes , there are bugs , if they happened to you , BUT you still like the core of the game , maybe you can cancel your sub for a while until these bugs get fixed and then come back to play.

I would no advise someone to get a refund if they would enjoy the game with less bugs , since , atleast i hope , they will fix said bugs with time and those players can return and enjoy the game then.

The game client is in a better shape than at AOC, SWTOR and Warhammer. If your system is not a PC from 2000 you will be able to run the game just fine.

Everything we players experience in game are issue´s based on driver instability or bad hardware.

However, that people lost bank slots, didnt get their pre order perks is non acceptable either.

While the games mentioned above were broken from the first minute on, you at least got what you paid for. That doesn't change the fact however, that EA and Mystic both decided that your chars are worthless when they turned of the servers...

TESO is a wonderful game if you don't suffer under missing perks or deleted items and roll backs, but its a nightmare if you do.

I played just fine until last Monday, but at the moment that I wrote my first support ticket and now one week later my items are still not in my mailbox, I just don't see the point in it anymore.

Such tiny things can ruin the fun for people, the forum is full of those with missing perks, or with those who have other issues - its just not ok to not even respond to the tickets anymore.
