How many are at the point of asking for a refund?

I read in another topic about how someone will ask for a refund if all of these problems continue for much longer.

I am at that point, too. This game is broken and should not have been launched. I want my $80 back.

The question is: how many are at this point or, am I overreacting? And, will they actually give us our money back?

You're overreacting. No, they will not refund you for what you say is "broken and should not have been launched." (Have you even heard of the game Battlefield 4?)

What you are dealing with now is a product of playing/using a product at first launch (version 1.XX). It hapens; and furthermore, it needs to happen. The hardships now help to make the game better in the long run.

I'm not quite sure what people don't understand about this concept...

They will not refund you. That's a simple fact. However I think a lot of people are quitting if they have to deal with much more bul-***. I have been fortunate enough to not have experienced dramatic bugs yet, just a few glitches that could be fixed with a simple relog. But ye.. there are bugs out there (especially the bank bug) which are MAJOR demotivations for people. Losing everything u worked for? I would ragequit..

But they will not refund you.

I'm getting there, and tbh what bothers me most was how they bragged about how smooth this launch(and I use the term launch to describe the first free month) was going to be and how polished and lag free it would be. I am in the boat of people who lost all their items, their mount, their skill points, and all their bank and equipment. It's frustrating, and it doesn't look like there is even an end in sight to it all. I have been scouring the forums looking for A SINGLE PERSON who had the skillpoint/bankwipe/inventory wipe issue having been resolved and I can't find one.

I've been a part of first week launches. The problem isn't just the bugs; it's the response to bugs, and the severity of the bugs. Nothing significant seems to be in the works to address the multiplying issues that keep cropping up. Disappearing items? In-game rollbacks where progress is lost? Multiple crashes to desktop and load times of 5+ minutes?

At the very least, free game time should be extended.

It's not that I don't understand that a game needs adjustment after launch. But, a few questions then, why wasn't the beta able to catch some of these massive problems? And, problems seem to be increasing, not decreasing. And, customer support and development seem to be on a break.

At what point of this broken game (or any game) can we actually see money back, or at least some enjoyment of something we spent money on? The bugs in the game right now are wasting people's time, erasing progress. The servers need to come down for an extended maintenance or something. If a stable build that doesn't erase progress or kick people to the desktop isn't out in the very immediate future, why can't we ask for money back on something that isn't functional? Granted, it's not likely. But, if I buy a computer and it barely functions, or has multiple crashes, I'm returning it and expect my money to actually purchase something functional.

And, it's sad. I'm a huge, huge fan of Elder Scrolls. I beta tested and sent in multiple reports on issues instead of just playing like a lot of people did. I am still very much excited for this game. But, I am now finding that after a few days, I don't feel like logging in because of all the problems that aren't being fixed. It's a waste of time.

I might be overreacting. I want to be patient. But the severity of the bugs has me playing other games right now when I want to be playing ESO.

I think it's too simplistic to just say "this is just how it is."

    i recommend : A beginners guide into Hegel's Dialectic.
Why are u all so overreacting? dont u see that the reason why u are angry, is that u actually love the game? that u want to play it without any bugs or downtime, again just because u like it that much.
And then tell me, how does it make sense to abandon something u in fact like very much ?
example: u lost the staff in your bank. u rage. but u only do so because u loved the stuff, and invested into gathering it.
example: server down . u rage. but u only do so because u realy would have liked to play.
    think about it.

This is how Vanguard and Age of Conan (best example i can think of) died for me, great game by heart but the endless problems got people to the disappointing point of just quitting the game cause it was too much of a hassle to get any enjoyment out of it.

I really like this game and want to keep liking it, but the sheer amount of issues and especially these loading times are quickly erroding it

I don't think it's overreacting to consider asking for a refund when the game is erasing your progress, and is nigh unplayable due to some massive bugs that either kick you out of the game, lag you to death, erase progress and items, and impeded questing.

Last night I tried to log on and play a dozen times. Half of the things I tried to do wouldn't work. The other half would kick me out of the game.

So, in a game where time is your money being spent, your suggestion is to "wait it out?"

Then this must e your first game. You even agreed before you played the very first time that there were NO REFUNDS. You people need to learn to read what you agree to before signing contracts. Tort and contractual law will win everytime in this case. You failed...let it go and go away

Just because its in a EULA doesn't mean it's legally binding, in fact many EULA contain clauses that would not stand up in court if contested, consumers have rights that cannot be stripped away by clicking I AGREE.

Child, still. There are no refunds for digital goods. Get over yourself. You asked so I'll tell you...yes..you are over-reacting in a major way. Sounds more like you need a diaper change and nap more than your money back.

You know, conversing about something doesn't give you the right to call people names. I know this is the internet, but I had hoped we could discuss player reaction to broken functionality of ESO without this. Furthermore, resorting to name calling pretty much damages your arguments, just a quick lesson in rhetoric for you.

I appreciate your opinion. Perhaps I am overreacting. But, even though it won't do any good, I do not appreciate your condescension and name calling. Also, resorting to that just makes you look foolish, not me.

There we go, fixed that for you. this is why they had LOTS OF TIME to test/re-test/re-re-test the game how many times they want BEFORE LAUNCH. Nobody forced them to release this game on this state.
I bought the game because i liked very much PVP when i played in beta... guess what, cyrodiil is having major issus right now and nobody gives a damn official response about it. Even more, can't even login on main character due tot fact that it crashed in pvp and since then i watch the loading screen.
Not sure how much patience i will have in the future with this stupid nonsense. They simply can add the function to reset the player back to last known PVE location on logout from pvp. Is not rocket science i guess!

Well, @Tweek, you are correct about one thing, I have not had nearly as many of the "large" problems people are complaining about. I have not lost items (yet) or has progress undone. So, in that matter there is no argument. However, I can assure you I am not fanboy. And as much as part of me would have wanted to be slightly upset at the "GTFO" remark, I just sorta giggled hysterically at your inflated ego and anonymity empowered ePeen.

Congratulations, give yourself a pat on the back for us all. I hope you can find happiness in your next "14 years" of MMO exploration. Hopefully someone will develop the "perfect, bug free, game" for you at some point in your life. Or hell, maybe you can be a part of the team and help develop it - maybe you will turn in to a bit more of a realist. For now, you are just hilarious...

Bottom line, the game has been around for two weeks. Maybe since I have not personally been impacted by any of the large bugs I am still wearing rose colored glasses, but I will personally give them more time to work out the kinks. If they haven't made any progress for the better in a few months, then I may climb aboard the ship many of your are prematurely hailing. "All aboard the ship of Refunds!"

I'm going to go enjoy myself for now and contemplate the more serrious matters in life...

    Good day!
