green tempers I would never pay more than 50 gold per blue tempers never more than 90 per. Any more than that i get myself or go without period! I laugh at the idiots that pay 400 gold per oils when you can't even sell the finished weapon for that price.

Green improvements are in the basement right now. I remember when 75ea or 7500 a stack was cheap, not I see them selling for 50ea and 3500-4000 a stack.

I never understood why, for example, dwarven oil cost 400 each, and you need about 5 for 100% chance of success ( 2k already ) then you use some ingots to craft a sword, use a gem to put a trait on it, and sell for 400g... (Example made on level 30 superior "blue" weapons... )

Yeah dwarf oil is one of many items that are over-priced right now.

The reason for this is because people are hoarding all of their improvement items since there is no reliable way to access them on the market. This dries up the supply and lets people gouge desperate buyers with unreasonable costs.

Can really suck for players who are trying to craft themselves blue armor while leveling up.

Check out the crafting polls, they are hoarding because almost everyone is trying to do ALL the crafts.

Edit: Poll link to the most recent one... again.. oops.

Economy is based on Supply, Demand, and Competition.

Dwarf Oil is for Blacksmithing only not all of the crafts.

As for the topic at hand I had already submitted an answer.

Determination relies upon supply and demand. Also upon the desire and how far someone is willing to go.

If I have a product and no one else does, and if that product is desired, I own the market and can literally ask anything that I want.

If it is desired, but there is a glut in the market, I am more at the buyers mercy to unload the product.
Supply. Demand. Desire. Willingness. Either by market or by personal transaction where you buy (or sell) what you pay (are paid) for.

Were the heck's the disagree button oh wait there isn't one, people never seem to add one they just want to see positive feedback and nothing else the games UI and menu's lack a ton of function that many basic MMO's have how could a multi-hundred million dollar game not have a decent interface no text for combat no statue % or number value for health or mana just a bar, if you want these you have to download a third party add-on. Oh look they added a guild auction house no search feature wow what’s the point then. The fact that a dadric motif sells for 100-150k gold what would you rather pay 100k or 150k I think with a better Economy system or some search feature prices would stabilize.

Watch zone chat and guild stores to get a rough idea. The market will fluctuate, but so do drop rates lol.

Simply put, if the world was perfect place, no money would be ever needed. Everyone will be doing his best and give it to others when they need it for free, because doing something for money equals to doing something for nothing.
If everyone did the things he's good in for free, just because of the good feeling when You make someone happy, everyone will be happy and there will be no place for pointless item cumulation just because items will have no price for those who don't need it.

It's interesting how everyone today clings to artificial construct called money.
Just buy it if it's worth it or sell it priced as the buyer expect, what is a matter of trial and error.
Except at that point people woild be keeping track of who did what for who for free. Trading of favors and needs is still commerce. The form of currency is literally a note that you are capable of performing a service. It determines value based on service, cutting out the middle man of a trading system. However, just like any other system that can be thought up, it can be abused.
