Why force players to pve to lvl up?

Many people like to lvl up through pvp. I think every mmo out right now lets people lvl up doing nothing but pvp. Why is it different here?

PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

you can do quests in cyrodiil.

Well the OP and I, are NOT happy. So give us our PvP rewards, and you can have your PvE ones. That's what they call a win win situation.

If it wasn't for the leveling being broken in RvR I would have left PvE forever the second I hit 10. Instead, my guild and have spent the last few days farming mobs because it's the fastest way to level. Makes for an awesome PvE experience!!!!!

@Mobius You do get rewards for pvp. you get the mail rewards as well as you can buy VR gear with alliance points(high cost). Also, I recall getting 2 skill points(no level up) for capturing a keep. and I am sure you could level up in pvp given time.

You get no-where near the rewards in PVP that you can get in PVE.

The quests are garbage for rewards.
The random mail you get is 1 item, and its a random item.
The skill points you received for capturing a keep was probably a display bug that scrolled up your screen, i have had that before during the early access, i did not actually get skill points like the white text that rolled up my screen said.

GO have a read of this thread.

The Elder Scrolls has never been about pvp, it would be disappointing to see the game and all the beauty of it's pve content bypassed by pvp. I am glad they have designed it this way. If you want to power level through pvp there are plenty of games out there for you to do that. Finally a game that doesn't conform to the narrow minded pvp crowd. TESO please don't change.

Are you being ignorant or just trolling? Pvp leveling needs a boost currently. I don't think it should be as quick as pve but it currently is so much slower that leveling in pvp just isn't a realistic option.

Maybe it just isn't really an issue? As you can clearly see by some of the replies in this very thread - not everyone views this as an issue in the first place.

I don't really see why you guys are so concerned about this. Comparatively speaking, you're already in your End-Game content. You're already experiencing the best of what PvP has to offer. It doesn't get any harder or any more fun than what you're already experiencing. And you're trying to make this experience go by... faster?

This is a non-issue. You have several options available for gaining levels. Just because everything doesn't meet your exact specifications and expectations, doesn't mean the game needs to change. Perhaps YOU need to change?

The people who don't consider this an issue seem to be the same people who are not really interested in high end, massive PvP.
And sorry, but we are not experiencing the best of what PvP has to offer. Getting 2shot by a veteran rank player who got his levels in PvE is NOT FUN. Just because someone chose to do non-PvP content, they now have a huge advantage over those of us who like to PvP only.
Imagine if it was the other way around, and PvP would give you a unfair advantage over PvE players. You guys would be screaming bloody murder all over these forums. Hell, we had one repeatable (and yes, broken) quest and all you PvE-ers complained about it like it was the end of the world. Even if with that quest leveling was still slower in PvP than it was in PvE.
We don't want the experience to go faster - we want the experience. And no, being level 20-30 and fighting veteran rank players is not PvP experience. It's just a turkey shoot.
The expectations that you mentioned were created by ZOS. We didn't buy this game "imagining" that we could level in PvP. We bought the game because we were TOLD we could level in PvP. We don't want the game to change, we want the game to be made as what was advertised.

Don't turn this into an "Us vs Them" argument. This has nothing to do with anything anyone demanded. This was a decision made by the developers.

All I am saying is that the only problem here is that you have expectations that need to change.

Why should you get the same reward of XP gain as someone else who participates in both aspects of the game? You're only participating in half the game. Therefore, you are entitled to half the potential reward. The people who are VR, and are also PvPing are participating in 2 areas of the game. Therefore, they are benefiting from both reward systems.

You are participating in half the game - therefore you get your alloted share.

Oh... OH! But you aren't happy with your share? Well... I'm sorry for you, pal. But you're kind of crying over spilled milk here.

Fine. Give us half the share. We'll be happy with that. Currently we get no XP whatsoever.

So if leveling through PvP being twice as slow as PvE will make you lot happy, i'm fine with it. Half is better than none.

Again, these are not MY expectations. These are expectations based on which the game was sold to us.

I do hope ZOS comes up with some middle of the road fix for the kill 20 player thing, but how I see it for me is there are four boards all with a pvp quests, and if you are in an active campaign doing the pve quests almost always leads to pvp I have had battles in dungeons, around towns on the open plains, pvp can happen every where, and I guess it boils down to how fast do you want to level in pvp, I have gone out and made a level almost two in a play session for me, after they removed the kill 20 players. I like the way ESO pvp works me and my friends have a blast, I am sure they will tweek it after the first round of campaign's will have to wait and see.

Even though most folks are PVE'rs, I will admit I don't see the point in PVP if there is no real reward for it, so I agree let folks level up through PVP. I am not a huge PVP person myself, but it only seems fair. Also, it works well in TOR, you get just as much xp for PVP as you do for PVE.
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

I was 2nd on the list for emperor in PvP in my instance of Cyrodiil.

I spent days there... but when I started to see the Veteran Rank players rolling in I realized I was behind.

Honestly... all the hours I put into Cyrodiil before level 50 and the VRs do feel somewhat wasted.

I honestly do wish I would have leveled faster while PvPing... I could understand not wanting people to level quickly in there, but I don't feel like I got enough for the PvP I was doing.

The mail rewards were nice to keep me in gear... but levels would have been handy too.

Doing PvE all day, I can gain a level or two in that single day. Doing PvP all day, I can gain 1/4 of a level in that single day. I believe we should get more xp in PvP or at the least allow us to complete 'Kill 20 players' more than once a day.

Flipping objectives proved to be a bad idea in all the other MMOs that had RvR, because people simply stop defending and go in circles taking each other's objectives. You could get "some" XP for that, but it should be minimal imho.

Defending objectives on the other hand could be rewarded better. For example getting a regular XP tick while defending objectives that are being attacked.

But the main source of XP should come from killing players and assisting on kills. So not just being in the same group as is the current system, but actually rewarding doing damage, taking damage for tanks, and healing people doing/taking damage that get kills. Basically getting XP for kill contribution.

I do both RvR and PvE regularly, that being said, the design is perfect the way it is. So sick and tired of beautiful games getting ruined by the (how do you guys call them now? QQ'ers?) people that feel since they don't like the way a game is played, instead of finding a new game they demand and moan and gripe until things are conformed to their way.

Case in point, Archeage looks stunning and beautiful. Would love to play it, but after reading how the game works with its mechanics for both pvp and pve instead of "qq'ing" all over them I simply go, "Welp! Not the game for me."

Perhaps you need to re-evaluate what type of game you play.

    Zenimax don't change.

This is a PVE /PVP game and both effect each other. they are not separate like in other games. This is exactly how Darkage of Camelot was. You PVE (its almost like training for PVP) and lets you build a character so that you can fight better in PVP. And it works the other way as well. Whats happens in PVP effects your PVE, character power, gold and progression.

Well now I have heard it all! What about when us lowly pve players get nerfed to hell because you leet pvpers start being vocal on games forums. This is why they should have a pvp server and pve server with no PvP and then the super leet pvpers can whine to each other instead of complaining that people pve on a pve game that has PvP bolted on as distraction while they have chance to create some endgame.
