Typo on the last screenshot I meant zos will lose end game pvers.

Damn I must have a divination skill or something. Almost exactly as I and other end game players predicted. Don’t have time to look through everything but I distinctly remember end game players predicting that it would actually lower diversity after like 2 months. Well it took 3-4 but close enough.

It's the end game players using those meta builds though, there always was a meta endgame players crutch on and always will be no matter what Zos change. Whats stopping endgamers using unique builds? Themselves.

    Nah you’re wrong.
All you have to do is go back and look at all the off meta PvP builds. Yeah we played the meta for a bit, got bored and then went on to more fun setups. Now however, there is no point because the power gap between meta and non meta is so big that it doesn’t make anything else viable or fun.

Apart from that, more than half the people In this forum post wouldn’t be able to properly balance subclassing. There is no chance that the current combat team, given the levels of knowledge we have seen from one of the leads, would be able to properly balance multiclassing.

Tip: to the devs for when they inevitably try and balance multiclass; you won’t be able to do it by looking at a spread sheet. You’ll actually have to think about how whatever change your implementing affects the results when combined with other skill lines and how it affects the next best.

They need to change hybridization before they could ever try to balance subclassing.

Not that subclassing should necessarily be rolled back, however at least give some kind of bonus to pure classes that would be able to let them compete with subclassing

    Takes pressure off of supports.

Excuse me! A team of tanks and healers can clear any content, it might take them an age but they can clear it. The same cannot be said for a team of DDs. So whose the real support?! :p

More than that, they would need to delineate the base class skill lines to be distinct like the DLC classes - which would ruin those classes.

Subclassing is inherantly unbalances - it favours the DLC classes. There is no way to fix that within the system without ruining base classes.

Oh there’s much more to do than just reverting Hybridization, I understand that. However, before saying abolish this or that, I think hybridization should be the first priority to get changed. I can’t pretend to know all the ins and outs of this, but hybridization is one main reason why certain builds can get away with stacking HP/DMG/Resists. They don’t have to worry about max resources at all since damage is homogenized and healing scales from it. And they can pull whatever the strongest skill is regardless of damage type. If it provides a major/minor and the other morph doesn’t, there’s no penalty because the stat it scales from doesn’t matter. I’m just saying I think this should be step 1 on the path to balance, and it keeps getting overlooked.

I look at most things through a PvP lens, I’m sure the differences in PvE is not the same, but it is similar.

Wife and I love ESO. We tried subclassing, gave it the good ole' college try, and we both HATED it and stopped playing becasue of it.

Instead we went back to New World (lol, so much for that with the game being announced it no longer has updates).

Now that New World is for all intents and purposes gone we are looking for an MMORPG to play. In our pursuit ESO is not even in the running solely due to subclassing. When we think about our characters, our homes, the dungesons, the world, the lore and all the amazing stuff in game, we want to play it but the second we recall how gutted our characters felt after subclassing, all desire to play is lost.

For us (and based on population shrinking) and others, subclassing killed the game and seems to have driven more away than it brought back.

The smartest move, IMO, ZOS devs can do at this point is roll back subclassing and simply admit that it was a huge mistake.
