Why Am I Getting Necromancer Gear on My Sorcerer in Infinite Archive?

I was in the Infinite Archive with my Sorcerer farming Sorcerer set, so far, I’ve collected 60 out of 72 pieces, and I even looted an Oblivion Bow. All good!

Then, after a boss fight, I looted a Decay Mace a Necromancer item;

What the hell?! I’m playing a Sorcerer, so why am I getting class-specific loot for a class I’m not using? The Infinite Archive is already ridiculous because the drops are supposed to be class-specific, and now I’m getting gear for a class I don’t even care about?

This is actually the first time this has happened to me, all the gear I received was for my Sorcerer. So what’s going on?

Can we please just have a consistent and logical loot system?

What the hell does this mean now?! Am I going to start looting gear for every other class before I even finish collecting my own Sorcerer set?!
Fix the damn game.

Every single thing I do just makes me feel more and more discouraged.

because only arc 1 drop armor, you have full weapon book, and 2arc start only drop weapon,so IA start drop other class weapon for you
if you want farm sorc set, just farm 1arc and reset it

No, Renato is is right. Odd number arcs drop body pieces, even numbers drop weapons. Because the armour drops in all weight classes, there are more armour pieces (21) than weapons (13+3 jewellery). Your weapons are full. A curated weapon from another class is better than a random sorc weapon you already have in your sticker book, don't you think?

If you want to finish sorc sets, you can now just run arc 1 repeatedly until you have all body pieces.

I got it. So, why should we keep going deeper into the Archives? To get what, exactly? What’s the motivation to keep pushing forward? none!?

More currency to then buy the boxes to unlock the pieces you don't have from the vendor.

If you only want the sorceror class set, then yeah you might have to choose an optimal method to farm it over pushing farther. The benefits of pushing farther are lots of Fortunes and extra challenge. You don't get Marauders in Arc 1, so pushing at least a few arcs adds some extra drop chances. You'll still get your class set from pushing farther, just every other arc or from Marauders since you've made it that far. As someone said, just buying the remaining pieces in curated boxes is probably a great method at this point for you since you're so close to the end.

For fun? For the challenge of seeing how far you can go?

Also, you get more fortunes per arc as you go further, and after a certain point, you start getting double gear drops.

But if all you want is to acquire gear as quickly as possible, then there isn't much reason to go into the higher arcs.

At least they put them in this order (body pieces in odd Arcs, weapons in even Arcs), otherwise they'd be forcing you to go to Arc 2 to complete your gear collection, rather than Arc 1.

Personally, I did a lot of 3-Arc runs to complete my gear set collection in there, so I'd get two body pieces and 1 weapon at least.

As someone who learned the hard way... Farm to the Arc 3 Thoa't, or at the very least the Arc 3 Marauder. Arc 3 is an odd number arc and drops armor pieces. If you don't.. eventually you'll get all the weapons for every class and you'll be left with a boatload of armor pieces to stickerbook and no weapons. Rendering Arc 2 nearly pointless (except for the style page/lead drops).

Arc 3 isn't so bad. Though it is the Arc where previous vision RNG noticably dictates time vs reward for farming purposes.

The truth is, I was never a big fan of Infinite Archives. And honestly, I never really cared about the sets or anything that drops there. But since the game, in my opinion, is even worse at the moment, I ended up running Archives anyway. Well... thanks to everyone here for the tips you gave me. I thought the game was just broken as usual, but it seems everything is Archives are working fine after all!

And of course… Oblivion set is worthless. Completely useless too. Anyway… maybe I’ll go check out the Scribing Station!

Unless you get a really lousy collection of Visions, Arc 3 is very doable as long as you are not a glass cannon. And that is 3 body pieces and 2 weapons, assuming you kill both Marauders. Arc 4 never seems worth it unless I am just going for challenge over ROI. Too many Fabled and too many of the never-ending blob spawns.

If you have collected all ARMOR pieces (not weapons) for the monolith of storms and the beacon of oblivion sets, you will start obtaining armor from other class sets in odd numbered arc fights with tho’at.

Even numbered fights and marauders give weapons (not sure off the top of my head if marauders also give armor, or just weapons).
