I beg your pardon, we should not take him into combat then? He will be always disappointed.

I don't even care about -1 rapport, it is just annoying to hear them complain all the time. No, Bastian, I am not forcing you to eat that Firsthold fruit and cheese plate, I am crafting it for my daily quest! Lol.
Using soul gems is also not really a choice in this game, any build needs them, no matter how lawful good they are. Nobody will give up their ability to resurrect or use weapon enchants because an npc doesn't like it.

I mentioned this in another thread, but the Soul Lock passive does not trigger negative rapport:
...while other passive Soul Gem filling sources like the Oblivion's Edge set do trigger the negative rapport:
- -1 Enter a Mages Guildhall
- -1 Read a Mages Guild Lorebook
- -1 Harvest Nirnroot or Crimson Nirnroot

I like the unique story on both and I like the way the Khajiit uses Necromancy, that's very different but yeah... pass. A Necromancer who hates Necromancers and the other companion hates Mages Guild... which you have to enter to raise their MG skill line... bad decisions for negative rapport.
How does Zerith respond to the Scribing skills in Soul Magic if you choose the spells that add Oblivion damage and consume a soul gem?
