    Well this was confusing:

Tanlorin's Finesse lets you break open lockboxes easier and they get + rapport, but then I guess they get - rap if it's stealing?

That's strange, I've never gotten negative rapport from stealing, including from lockboxes. They don't seem to mind getting caught stealing either. Maybe it was a reaction to something specific you looted?

Possibly new negative for Zerith-var - doesn't like Coldharbour. I haven't done anything else but talk to a guild trader so I assume it's just the location.

This is funny, I just mistakenly assumed that a Northern Elsweyr Defense Force quest was one of the Northern Elsweyr dailies all this time, and just realized what it REALLY is tonight when I tried to figure out which of the Northern Elsweyr dailies it was! 😂

If I’d realized this before the update I would have already gotten that prologue quest out of the way on the characters plan to use Zerith-var with, but oh well hehe.

one of the rapport sources for zerith-var thats not listed but required for the achievement for various rapport sources is for offering a donation to a begger while accompanied by zerith

i havent actually completed this yet to know what value it gives as im having a difficult time finding a begger to give to lol

I too haven’t been able to find a beggar.

i think part of the problem with this is the event going on, it adds additional random spawns to locations where you would normally get the events to spawn for stuff such as the beggers needed for the achievement (encountered at least 2 of these yesterday, i got random event spawns instead of the normal spawns)

i dont know if theres any fixed location beggars that can be given to in dlc zones

+125 Complete a Tales of Tribute Daily Quest
Btw is this only if you win?

I tried this game again and confirmed, it's not my thing at all. Not worth the +1 point for a loss.
But I'd suffer the daily quest if you get the +125 either way

I absolutely LOATHE Tales of Tribute. I was never into the Magic the Gathering or Pokemon card games or whatever they are based off of. Part of the problem is my vision has been getting worse and I can't really see stuff for the cards and I don't know WTF I'm doing when I try to play. It took me a damn hour to complete a match and I had it on auto card thing but I still had to click stuff and didn't know what I was clicking or what I was supposed to click or how to end the game. I was just stuck in it for a whole hour and I was getting more bored and then angry by the minute. I almost ragequit again (i did ragequit on that game by having to manually exit the game bc I couldn't figure out how to get out of it). This could be a me problem, but I hate ToT and have no interest in learning how to play it. I'd rather have puzzles or hidden object stuff instead.

Anyway, I had accepted the quest and I won the match but it didn't complete the quest and I got zero rapport gain from Zerith-var and decided it just wasn't worth the aggravation. I already hated the Tales of Tribute thing from the first couple of times I did the starting quests for them and I hate it more now. It takes for effing ever and is not the least bit fun. Sorry for the rant, but going through all that effort to get no reward was not worth it to me.

One perk with Zerith-var is that apparently his ghost kitty J'aq will make Heavy Sacks glow so they are easier to spot when you have Zerith-var out. I didn't get the rapport gain from him for going to Bandari Trading post but maybe that was a glitch. At least I got him up to level 10 now from grinding near Spellscar in Craglorn. That has vampires and stuff that gives rapport with him so it was win/win.

He didn't seem to mind when I used soulstones to rez him or other players or myself. I haven't used anything that will fill a soul gem when he

As for Bogcup/Tanlorin, I immediately disliked the flirting. She's not as insufferable as Jakarn-- I throw up in my mouth every time he says "Hey good-lookin'" when I run by without accepting his quest. I do like Tanlorin's purple outfit. I got her but I haven't taken her anywhere yet. I may just take her to Eyeveya and Artaeum just to hear her whine. I don't care about negative rapport.

Ah, thanks for the info that the daily quests for rapport are in Grahtwood and not Northern Elsweyr. What is the closet wayshrine for them? I *think* I''ve done the prologue quests on at least some toons.

The ToT daily quests can be completed by winning at least one match against NPCs (offered by Kishka) or other players (offered by Marunji). From my experience, having won even 1 NPC match out 3 for the daily quest is enough for getting +125 Rapport for Zerith. I haven't done any PvP matches to see if it is possible to get more even Rapport through ToT dailies.

Did you complete an NPC match at the location mentioned in the quest? It won't count if you go somewhere else for that (for example, you may need to complete an NPC match in the Rift, but going to Blackwood for that will not count for the quest objective).

Also my advice would be that you need to look carefully at what each card does and try to match the cards that have the same color for combos for your favor. Unlike PvP matches, there is no time limit for your turns, so you can take as much time as you want. But in the end, it is your choice if you want to try get familiar with the game.

Closest wayshrine to the Daily Quest giver is the Cormount Wayshrine. She can be found near the gate leading to Northern Elsweyr.

the tribute dailies require wins to complete the quest

at minimum 1 win is needed, but you can do up to 3 wins for a better reward

the NPC daily is far easier to do than playing against players (unless you play against someone who ends up conceding on turn 2 because you got a good card on your first turn lol)

    Thanks for replying re: ToT

That's a shame because I definitely plan to lose every time xD
Like @Aminatu said I absolutely loathe it and I do accept it's a me problem. I tried the tutorial and tried playing an NPC and still lost. Not looking for help to get better at it either; for me, completely subjective, it's really just an irritating waste of time because I don't like most card games IRL either even when I'm really good at them.

So yeah I only got +1 point when I lost against an NPC and it took so freaking long that I didn't want to do any more.

    @Maitsukas
Sorry Idk about Coldharbour because I wasn't yet using the addon at the time, but it looks like UESP is already actively being updated and it says -5 – https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Zerith-var/Rapport

    One more:
Zerith-var got +10 when defeating a WB (Dismantler the Dwarven Colossus)

May be triggered by something else though, didn't happen before at this or other WB, that I know of.
EDIT: yeah I'm not sure what it was from because it didn't happen again on a different toon.

It was likely from healing myself from red

For Zerith-Var, drinking a purifying mara and healing yourself while critical won't work in a town or 'safe' location, but only out in the wilds.

    For Tanlorin:
    • Scribing a skill gives +25. Changing a script from an already scribed skill also works (and wastes only 1/3rd of the inks)
    • Approaching a mundus stone gives +10. Doesn't matter if the location is already discovered.
    For Zerith-Var:
    • Unearthing an antiquity gives a +10. Just scry and use the eye with Tanlorin, dig it up with Zerith, and both will be happy.
    • Completing a multi-part antiquity (such as mythics or crafting stations) gives a +25.

Can't say if CDs are daily o hourly.

I feel that there's kinda lower rapport gain on Tanlorin, or the community hasn't managed to find all the +10 ones. Also a lot of skyshards, level up skills triggers, which sucks a bit for older players, and there's likely nothing to level up or skyshards missing on the main character that you'd be using for this.

Picking flowers in a location like the hollow city in coldharbour, and doing the other +5/10/125, etc. when those cooldowns expire is the fastest way to max tan's rapport. Flowers have zero cooldown, and doing loops through the hollow city netted me a few hundred rapport in an hour just flowers alone.

I got a +10 with Tanlorin for talking to some Witches Festival random spawn NPCs - the two Argonians that are hiding from people or whatever. I think it might be from using the Persuasion skill during dialogue, since they say something like "I wish you could use that skill to remove my bar tab" afterward.

I fully unlocked Zerith-var last night (max rapport & level), AMA
    xD

Rushed because I really wanted to build with the pool. Worst part by far was having to unlock and do the required ToT daily. Everything else was fine. Tanlorin's achievement is waaay easier, can all be done in ~30 mins, versus having to play cards with multiple NPCs for what felt like ages.

for the tribute daily you only need a minimum of 1 win to turn in the quest if you wanted to have made that faster (there were some days i didnt feel like doing 3 matches to finish it and just wanted the rapport lol)

I just got Zerith-var +10 for killing Marauder Ulmor in Infinite Archive.

UPDATE: A couple arcs later I got another +10 for killing Marauder Zulfimbul; so it seems like any Maurauder awards +10. There is however a cooldown, in one IA run I got the +10 for my 1st and 3rd Marauders but not the 2nd.

    Tan likes thievery conditionally.

Likes picking nobles' pockets and stealing from and merchant / noble lockboxes. +1, I think, with either no or a very small cooldown. It's possible the +1 from lockboxes is just from her lockpicking affinity.

Dislikes stealing from non-nobles. This needs broad confirmation, but I know for sure bards. I know this because that racist public speaker in Skywatch is labeled as a bard for some reason, and I lost rapport from Tan picking her pocket.

So robin hood your hearts out, redistribute the wealth. From nobles, to yourself. Otherwise Tan gets mad.

There's definitely a cooldown, but I don't know what length. Interestingly, one of the the things he said for me after excavation was "Fascinating to see the way these scholars think", which makes me think that what he likes about it is getting the antiquarians' thoughts on the antiquity rather than finding the antiquity itself. Can anyone confirm whether you can get the rapport gain from an antiquity you've already found all the codex entries for? I literally just got the 'scholars' line so I have to wait an unknown cooldown to test out the theory and I'm impatient :D

After some testing, I found that I lost rapport with them (-1) after stealing a doll from a crate (categories were 'dolls' and 'tools' and I've stolen other tools they haven't objected to). So maybe they dislike stealing dolls, and by extension perhaps other kids' items? I guess they're not a fan of taking candy from babies :D
Based on the categories listed for contraband items here, I think we could check if any stealing rapport losses are tied to looting children's toys as well. (last minute addition- their uesp page does claim that rapport losses are associated with children's toys and dolls specifically)

Types of contraband I have looted without incident include: Artwork, Dishes and Cookware, Drinkware, Dry goods, Games, Lights, Magic Curiosities, Maps, Medical Supplies, Oddities, Ritual Objects, Scrivener Supplies, Smithing Equipment, Tools, Trifles and Ornaments, Utensils, Writings

well then, it's like the -1 to pick mushrooms on Azandar. Not a big deal, on a cooldown (Azandar groused about mushrooms every time but the -1 was only every few minutes) and as long as you do more things they like than small things they don't, you're never going to see Tanlorin storm away from you with negative rapport. Same as Mirri and torchbugs. I used to be afraid to gather bugs for bait with her out but after a while I figured, it's not such a huge deal and the negatives are small and infrequent. (just don't backstab the whole town with her out.)
