When you fail to picklock a chest and come back on the same chest, It should give you the same set

I could put this on the previous one, yet I didn't know this situation would come up. This could be like two different changes to pick locking.

When you fail to picklock a chest and come back on the same chest, It should give you the same set of pins to get past. It makes it harder to get past all the pins if they change each time. Now, I accept when a new chest is placed there in respawn that it's a new lock put on it.

Why? It's not that difficult to pick a lock once you practiced a bit. The only ones where you can run out of time is the Master ones. We have Legerdemain skill for a reason. Level it, and you can force locks.

    Edit:
There should be at least some kind of a challenge before you can get those items. Otherwise, why not ask for them to be just placed on the floor.

Even with my high ping (especially PC EU) I very seldom have to start a Master chest over. Then again, I did blow a lot of chests when I started 7 years ago, but by the time I'd been playing a few months it was trivial to get them every time.

Yea, it's immersion-breaking that the lock can suddenly be re-pinned by a phantom locksmith between attempts.

But it's also pretty immersion-breaking to have a time limit of any sort in the first place.

It's a game; the things that make locks hard to pick IRL are not something that can really be replicated here, so some compromises had to be made.

It's called MAGIC. I bet a branch of the Mages Guild makes a tidy profit by supplying those magically enhanced locks all over Tamriel.

Was it really necessary to make two different posts about picking locks? Just learn how to do it or level up legerdeman so that you can just pop locks and move it along.

Never really had a problem with the lock picking mini game much prefer it over the one in Skyrim.

Got a lot of practice before I started playing ESO since Mafia 2 used the same type of mini game for unlocking cars.

I don't open the chests manually for some time now and I always just press R (Locksmith passive). It almost always works (70% chance..).
And before I had the passive at maximum level I used an addon called FCO Lockpicker. Definitely try it if you're having trouble opening locks on chests.
