So that lead in a trial idea....

NOBODY wants to run a trial in my timezone, I can't run trials in the middle of the night or first light of dawn.....so I'm just waiting for you zos to put that west weald HoF lead in the IA.

... so feel free to go ahead and move that lead into the IA as SOON as you can.

There's RND, there's paywalls, then there's the nigh impossible- 11 other trial happy people awake at the same time as me.

So nice idea for an achievement and a colour for a skill..... but no.

Thanks, from downunder.

Well they'd have to do the same for leads in Tales of Tribute (or dungeons or crafting or farming mats) then. I can't stand the game and find it a bad fit for an Elder scrolls mmo. That said I'm prepared to grit my teeth and get on with it to get my lead. Leads come from all types of content whether it's something you like or not - the same for everybody.

At least it's 100% lead, I'd be mad if I had to clear hof several times in order to get it.

    You missed the point ENTIRELY.

I'd be HAPPY to run it but there's NO HoF trials HAPPENING when I'm online/awake.

The last time HoF was the daily endeavor, I ran nHoF on both PC/EU and PC/NA at around 7 or 8 in the morning US-Eastern. Which is 9 or 10 in the evening in AEST.

For both PC/EU and PC/NA, there were no groups in the Group Finder. For both servers, I created my own group. And for both servers, the group filled in literally 2-3 minutes. Clearing the trial took about 18-20 minutes.

After I finished the endeavor on EU, I ran it on NA, and in about one hour (including the time it takes to swap servers), I completed the endeavor on both servers during off-peak hours.

Okay, it might not fill that fast if there wasn't a special 75-endeavor carrot dangling in front of people, but my question to you is, did you try creating a group before concluding "nobody wants to run it"? Or did you just wait around hoping that someone else would?

I signed up for a group finder run when it was an Endeavor and it filled quickly, like within 15 minutes or so. So unless you happen to be searching the group finder during that time, you would have missed it. I had to wait for about 30 minutes before it showed up,

Weekends are probably going to be the time more people run these. Often on Saturday there is an Endeavor to run a trial of any kind.

I think there's two things that people really need to understand about Group Finder: Groups are created by ordinary players, and when a group fills, it is automatically delisted.

So seeing no listings doesn't mean necessarily "nobody wants to run it". It might mean that, or it might also mean "it's so popular that any groups that form are filled and delisted in 2 minutes--blink and you'll miss it!"

Every time HoF or AS came up as the endeavor, I created a group. And it filled in just a few minutes, even during off-hours. That it filled that fast suggests to me that there were a lot of people just staring at the Group Finder hoping a group would pop up, and when one did, they all jumped at it.

People really need to get used to the idea of "if I don't see a group, I should make one". Because there were clearly a lot of people who wanted to run the trial for endeavors. But they were all waiting for a group to form instead of making their own.

Yes. Not as rewarding as duo because you can go further in a duo, but a solo player can easily get enough fortunes for things like leads. If you have a good companion, it will make things slightly easier. But, not enough so to be a huge deal if you don't.

The trail I ran started about 11:00 p.m. PDT, I think that's about 4 in the afternoon your time?

That may be true for vet, but not for normal. You don't need to "lead" anything.

In one of the runs, I literally said absolutely nothing the entire time. I gave no directions or instructions because none were needed.

In the other run, I saw some people killing themselves on the final boss (the final boss reflects damage back at you if you attack it while it's immune, so people who kept hitting it when it was immune were basically killing themselves with the reflected damage), and I typed a single message into chat: "don't hit boss when immune, he reflects damage"

That's it. That was the extent of the my "leadership" of the group.

Mechanics usually don't matter on normal, and "hit it until it dies" usually works. In nHoF specifically, there is only one counter-intuitive mechanic, and that's the damage reflect when the final boss is immune. Everything else can be ignored.

In any case, all you're doing is forming the group; there really aren't any obligations beyond that.

The problem with the leads sold by the vendor in IA is that they are firstly, in a rotation of 1x weekly by 2x lead and secondly what leads show up there is purely random, you can go there and hope for some leads for a year, two, even 10 and they may not show up at all.

I don't like that some leads only drop in trials.

I do it by going to trials once a week with my guild and hope..
For example, yesterday I was at Sunspire hoping to drop Dov-rha Sabaton Heel which according to eso-hub web has a chance to drop from dragons in Sunspire. Unfortunately, bad luck and the lead didn't drop.

I also go IA daily (only 2 Arc) and farm IA currency + leads that drop in IA this way and I visit the vendor every week and buy only leads that are from trials or from daily quests (leads from daily quests have crazy low chance to drop, I heard...) or ones that are hard to farm (from activities I don't like for example etc). However, what the vendor offers is practically "luck based" so...

That's kind of how I do it.

People who have that experience didn't gain it from not trying.

Normal trials don't require much leadership, and in most pugs it is probably not expected either. There are also tons of guides that one can watch if they don't feel confident about mechanics.

This is another iteration of a recurrent issue. Everyone wants groups, but barely anyone is actually willing to make it happen. Waiting for others to do things for you makes you dependent on what they want.

(Not speaking at the quoted poster, just used the quote to illustrate the approach that I wanted to refer to)

So in this game, in which players routinely rip apart 'poor performing' players via whisper and kicks, even if they're not, and with hundreds of posts in here and reddit on that problem, you think people will volunteer to RUN a trial of complete strangers when they have no experience.

    That's not gonna happen.

In guilds, yes with training runs. Otherwise- no.

I like the idea of leads in trials. They are everywhere else, so I don't see why trials should be an exception.

Bit I think it would be nice if leads that drop from group content and don't have 100% drop chance were tradeable between team members. Just like the gear.

    Routinely? Really? In normal content?
Maybe I am insanely lucky (my leads rng tells a different story though...) but I levelled all my alts in random normals and haven't seen much of it. If there was any kicking, it was because of fake tank.

Don't know about trials, cause I wasn't running much normals, but they don't have DPS checks and you don't do many mechanics, so I would assume it's similar.

Also, when it comes to group content, don't believe everything you hear. Before I started to run dungeons and trials on a regular basis, I've heard tons of horror stories of people being trashed, kicked right and left and whatnot... When I actually got in it was surprised how exagerrated all of it was. Sure, you will meet an idiot here and there, but that's not that different from life ;)

Seriously? It drops on normal or vet, and you can 2 man NDSA in about an hour with a 1 bar HA sorc. Me and a friend run NDSA all the time 2 man or even solo with a companion just to level up items. Its possible.

Yeah I walked into this hot madness myself and wasn't very happy either lol.

The thing I realized was a run like HoF doesn't just happen every day. Your best bet is to check-in with the group finder for Trials on the weekends. I did this, fortunately I has what probably is one of the best PvE Tank builds ever made, so I actually lucked up and took the last spot on a group tanking the run alone.

It sucks but prepare your best character and hope for a group on the weekends is all I can say. Got the lead on the first try though so glad I did not have to go thru all that again hah.
Today Victory is mine. Long Live the Empire.
