PVP LEVELING! BRING! IT! BACK!

Grym
Grym
Why did you remove the ONLY quest in PvP that us players could use to level? You guys have not only just stated by action that you want us to PvE, but that we HAVE TO PVE to level now. What about: "Play the way you want!!" What happened to that? Why did it suddenly go away three days into early access? Why on earth would you do this? If you wanted to balance the quest, remove some alliance point gain, don't make it impossible to complete more than once a day. Seriously! What were you thinking?I really hate to say this, but if this issue doesn't get fixed, you'll be seeing a loss of subscribers really quickly. It has been probably the best thing about PvP on this MMO as opposed to others: The fact that we could finally level with some efficiency in PvP. It was an amazing thing. Though we still lagged behind PvErs, we were okay with it. But now? Now you guys are giving us the cold shoulder by forcing us to PvE in a game you created with a very particular vision in mind. Stick to that vision! You told us to play the way we want to, so help us do that by balancing EXP gain! I refuse to just accept this change. And I PRAY that the other players see this and agree with me.

Something I've heard suggested by countless players is more EXP for killing enemies. That'd be wonderful. Another idea is to grant more EXP for capturing keeps and objectives, thus magnifying the incentive to push against enemy factions. Or bonus EXP while defending keeps. These are amazing ideas and I realize it'll take you time to implement them, but why the hell would you take out our only source of leveling while you do? It's unfair, it's annoying, and sadly, it's causing me to rethink my purchase.

Agree - how are we going to afford to buy siege equipment now when the main method of acquiring it was via this quest?!

100% agreed some people like to level in pvp also this would hurt people wanting to get emperor when people are already on 400k ap will that be fair really common please bring it back

XP for objectives is a terrible idea and leads to zergs avoiding each other and going for empty keeps (see Planetside 2 and "ghostcapping" bases).
More XP for pvp kills? This is something that could be discussed. It has no side effect on the gameplay and i support it.

Personally as a soloing NB i am happy they made that quest a daily, it was more a chore than anything else.

I've made about 5-6k alliance points just by PvP'ing in about 45 minutes. If you are complaining about not being able to buy equipment to siege with then you are doing something wrong
  • magnumXopus
Although I liked having the quest repeatable, it's not grounds for this level of outrage. Curb stomping...really?

I think they should give more exp for killing enemies. It will help the pvp and help us play the way we want at the same time.

I have been very concentrated on leading raids and supplying siege - particularly with new players not bringing siege. One Forward Camp is over 7,000 points. Typically I'm doing 10 or more repairs on a single wall and 10 or more repairs on a single door. This is very expensive and one of the main vehicles for earning AP is now nerfed. Perhaps it's you that's doing it wrong.

The main problem here is the fact that we cannot level. AP is gained at a reasonable rate without this quest. That's not what this thread is about. It's about leveling through Pvp being made impossible by the lack of EXP granted

I don't think it is a good idea to calculate with numbers of new players, who are not getting siege equipment, THE GAME ISN'T EVEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED...
of course there are new players, and they will get in your way, you will slaughter them untill they now how Cyrodill is working...

I'm against the daily q thing too, and I'm more a hardcore pve guy, but the 20 man kill q felt broken too, I was constantly feeling I was missing XP for not giving the Q back and do it again, when I did an objective...
As a new player, the pressure of getting these XP an AP is huge, it gives you an extreme bonus if you can actually buy anything...
Think about the early pvp ranks, you get 3 skill points for free, at lvl 10 this is much! very much!
I'm against this change, but it is 1 Quest, only one!
Aren't there other Quests to, which are repeateable? perhaps Zenimax wants fewer players at one spot, more scattered about whole Cyrodil, atm you have Zergs and nothing, with more widely spread Quests, war would be everywhere, the whole land would look like it is on fire, it would be awesome seeing scout groups and small zergs operating deep in enemy lines, because it would be worth the trouble...
But to make this happen, bethesda would have to change something, another idea would be getting a Siege token for completing the 20 player q, reducing the AP you get, no real trouble for PVP, everyone would have siege weapons, there would be much less AP around, you could lvl with it, and you would even get the gold you need....
Or somethin, I'm only saying the change seems wrong without information, but beeing that outraged is wrong too, very wrong, there should be a reason, if not, feel free to rage, I would actually support you!

Warden Main apparently... 7 Wardens currently, otherwise a healer of every class.
Mostly active in No CP PVP on EU, blaming the buffbot meta in pve.
I want to feel like I am saving somebodies life, not like I am carrying amunition for them...

They only changed a quest from repeatable to daily, didn't they?
A little patience is a good thing.
The game is not even officially released yet.
  • xSpike.Spiegelxneb18_ESO

I thought they did that, because people doing this quest and then dying on purpose to finish it. Maybe they could let us finish it without going back? Instead of making it a damn daily...Gosh I hate dailies so much since WoW. Don't do that to PvP please, I loved that I could level up in PvP as well. :(
  • mauli2001b16_ESO
More XP for kills is no option for someone like me who is mostly healing and supporting I guess. If this is the way to go, I´ll start a DD and cancel healing

No, the bounty quest was broken. Nice idea, but badly executed.

In a raid group you could finish the quest in a minute without doing crap. It favored leeching, and going back and forth, rather than fighting. if you didnt join a zerg, you were missing out big time, which was a huge disadvantage for small-party or solo players.

You earned 1000 AP every 5 minutes with this quest, which made the whole leaderboard thing a joke. it was more about who grind this quest faster, than who actually fought the most.

I wish they found a better solution. but i rather have it be a daily, than it continue to be a must-to-zerg and heaven for leechers/exploiters. The only thing i agree, is to increase the exp rewards for kills (and healing, assisting, etc) itself.

You mean that removed a cheap way to level up and people are complaining that it they can no longer level from 10-50 in a couple of days? GASP THE HORROR GAME BALANCE IS THE DEVIL.

PVE leveling was waaay faster even with the repeatable quest, so we they should nerf all PVE experience by 70% right? I didn't think so...

I support this aswell, the increase shouuld be significant tho cuz atm you get barely annthing from pvp kills wich makes it extremely hard to lvl true pvp.
I know allot of people bought this game for the pvp and love to lvl true pvp but with this change and without increasing the XP gain for pvp kills ESO will lose ALLOT of subs.
Like allot of people mentioned here already ESO got this statement of "Play the way you want" but instead they are forcing us to lvl true pve.
In mmo's you allways have pvp players and pve players, both should get supported.
As a Dev you shouldnt pick anny side.
Also, im fine with the quest being a daily but atleast increase the xp gain for kills.
I also support the mentioning of the very high AP you got for the quest wich made the leaderboards a big joke.
Better Nerf the AP gain and Buff the XP gain.
AP you will allways get, XP not.
And just make siege weapons cheaper but make it harder to gain ranks in the Leaderboard so atleast it makes sence.

    Oh, I sees b*tthurt. *whine-whine-whine*

Tl;dr all the above comments but i think that it's been removed because it's been abused. If only some of your die-hard PvP mates hadn't been such *censored* the quest would still be there for everyone to enjoy but some people just don't get the idea that their actions might ruin game for everyone including themselves.

Anyway, stop your whining. Be a man/woman and go do some questing - maybe as a result you'll at least know WHY you're doing all the fighting in Cyrodiil.

All your ideas are plausible but all will be abused.

"Do you want the book or not? Then go whack some people with Wabbajack!!"
  • Quadraginta
I didn't know there was a "quest" that gave us xp through leveling. But I was kinda disappointed when I noticed how little XP you gain in pvp. I hit lv 10 and off to Cyrodiil I went, haven't stepped out of it since and in 2 days there I only made it to lv 12 :/ It's not that I don't like the PVE areas/part but I really thought I could you know... live in the pvp zone and actually progress, but it's so damn slow I'll just have to go back to the PVE zones if I ever wanna get more skills and hp for Pvp.

I made over half a Veteran Level and around 80,000 AP yesterday in PvP in a few hours.

Lots of XP to be had if you're killing other players.

I endorse this thread, we need to at least gain more xp for killing players(heck no to objectives offering xp as stated above it becomes boring the same thing happened in WAR with keep swapping). I don't understand why it was made a daily instead of available every other hour or something at the least.
