"The Hideaway." How I Have Not Missed You

Been loving this event, have played more in Gold Coast and Hew's Bane this week than I have since I can remember. But I have forgotten the sheer misery that is "The Hideaway" heist. RNG-based hidden caches, intentionally placed sentries to force you to use hiding spots until they clear to artificially waste time, and of course, the one sentry that stays near the treasure when it is in the northern location. I have yet to get a perfect run in this place, let alone one where I was not spotted.

yeah i have a speed-capped-in-stealth toon with a lot of stealth detection radius reduction

my avg time to complete most heists is 1.5-3 minutes, depending on if it is the anti-stealth guards or the guards with the anti-stealth trap which is avoidable

you have a total of like 7-8 minutes to get a perfect heist, as long as you finish within the time you get the perfect, even if you do get spotted

just have to keep in mind that getting spotted or using the blade of woe is an automatic -1 min to the timer

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Might give that try, but with a normal PVE build its a pain.

my stealth character is set up using ring of the wild hunt + 3 pc of night terror set + 5 pc of darloc brae, and is a vampire to remove the speed penalty in stealth, and i also made this character a khajiit for the further reduced stealth radius

im using arena weapons to make it easier to facilitate gear swaps and add a little combat ability

i also have a little bit of +move speed from either swift jewelry and cp, but i know i had to tweak that as i was over the speed cap lol

its amazing using stealth at 200% move speed, and costing 0 stamina effectively (my sneak cost is like 10 stam per tick, and darloc brae restores like a couple hundred every second im crouched so i can stay in sneak forever)

this setup i use also makes it very easy to complete IC dailies, with high speed and stealth you can avoid killing mobs, or even blade of woe the basic dremora enemies

You do the right build with armor you can move around almost at a full sprint which makes them simple

My elf's approach is entirely different. She goes in, bow ablazing, killing and looting everything she sees. She cares naught for the 'time limit' and revels in the fact that heists play just like a private instance delve with no other players to mess things up. And the loot is pretty good too (groceries) if you take the time to gather it. So she doesn't get the bonus for being sneakifast but still completes the mission and has great fun doing it her way.

Swift jewelry is particularly helpful to reach speed cap in stealth if you're not a vampire, as the sneak penalty doesn't apply to it.

Of the 5 heist maps, Hideaway is definitely the one I find the hardest to get a clean run on. The sentry near the northern lockbox took a bit of getting used to but isnt a big deal in the end. The real issue is that it has a lot of long narrow patrolled corridors, that just eat your timer in hiding spots to get past them, coupled with widely spread hidden caches that force you to use those corridors. I definitely build for it, but my combo of night mothers embrace, night terror, and darloc brae (5/3/4 on front bar) is cheap and easily accessible. There's a swift darloc brae ring available from a quest in the ashen scar which helps.

With AWA you don’t have to do everything on one toon. Roll a Khajiit, get two stealth sets, not even worry about vamp skills, and you can get the perfect heist. Is this the one with the waterfall chute in the north area? It’s a little harder than the rest depending on rng. Just grab a chest on the shelf near the bridge before you jump down because backtracking will take too much time. The only trick is that chest that spawns on the ledge in the next room that you can easily fall off.

Having nightblade shadowy disguise skill can let you slip past those npcs you don’t want to deal with if time is short.

    :D:D:D

I am a bit clumsy in real life and it totally translates into the game too. In my opinion heists are THE hardest content in the game and no matter how hard I try, I can never do them cleanly.

Bastion Nymic? Piece of cake! Be sneaky and fast in a heist? Totally out of my reach. :D I have accepted this about myself.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Main thing is to be patient and have the necessary buffs to take full advantage of the scenario.
