They can be great. Or they can be one of the biggest weakness of Elder Scrolls lore, in my opinion, depending on whether the writing makes sure to treat them as complex characters. Great = Meridia for being multifaceted. Weak = Molag Bal for being one-note pantomime villain.
Don't forget how nearly every zone has a cult which is [snip] as it's used as a Deus Ex Machina constantly.
Honestly, I'd much rather less focus on the daedric princes etc than more. I used Meridia as an example as she is more or less the *only* Prince I can think of other than Sheogorath who acts consistently with her character (haven't played Necrom yet) and has any depth. And unlike Sheogorath, she's not so over-used that she's become insufferable.
Molag Bal is just plain boring. He's really really evil, always wants to destroy the world, and never, ever wins. Zzz.
I hope we get to banish her eventually and never have to deal with her again, the established daedric princes are already enough. She is/was interesting in concept, but I'm not interested in yet another daedric prince.
And the last thing I want is to see her added to the older TES games retroactively or appear in TES 6.
Actually, they said it was a "continuation" of the story. Given where the Necrom story left off, I would not have assumed that it was self contained.

In general, I have nothing against them adding a new Daedric Prince - it was never defined in lore that there couldn't be more than people knew of so far. Also, the story will most probably be about banning Ithelia again, so after the chapter things will return to normal anyway. The only thing that makes me sceptical is whether Ithelia will actually be interesting. What I've seen so far was rather bland.Actually, they said it was a "continuation" of the story. They did say it was the beginning of a story arc in the Necrom reveal stream one years ago, so this is what many people expected. Who didn''t finish Necrom before the Gold Road reveal could of course not know that Necrom's story is a cliffhanger and the next chapter will start where Necroms ends.FelisCatus wrote: »[snip]
I never knew Britney Spears was black.

She looks more like a League of Legends character than an Elder Scrolls character.

This second image - the one with the hood - looks like to me someone that might have ancestral ties to Yokudan - I think though her to be a Scion of Ithelia not the Prince Ithelia

And to clarify, Herma Mora's reach into "Fate", is again, only informational. He knows everything that's happened and everything that could happen. He's the Prince of Fate as in he knows what your Fate is, or could be.
Not a fan of ESO just introducing a whole new Daedric Prince out of the blue. That should either be left to the main series, or just not done at all.
Like others have said, I really hope that at the end of the storyline we banish/destroy her in some way so that the lore remains consistent in later titles.

ESO has contributed more lore than the main series in this millennium, I have no idea why players are so appalled by ESO lore. ESO is cannon and not a better or worse place to tell Elder Scrolls lore than a mainline game.

It's not that people complain about amount of lore, it's about the quality.

Tell me more. I don't think there's something that was not at least in lore books before.

ZOS has been adding a lot of details to the lore. They may actually be the larger contributor to lore, period. They are racing forward with new lore at a rate that BGS was never able to accomplish.

I am not sure what else was in their lore before this game but I know that’s all they were called and their lore pages were very small, like a sentence basically and now they aren’t.

Yes, they added a lot to their lore, and that's wonderful. I meant the part of your comment that ZOS gave them a name finally.
The name of the elves, Sinestral.
